Book!Newtmas Headcanons

For me this is so Newt song and just hear me out. In the books, Thomas didn't give a damn about Newt until the third book. Newt was doing great in the Glade even he hated being there with all his heart. He had romantic (or simply platonic) feelings for Thomas and it certainly hurt him how much he didn't notice him around Teresa and then Brenda. Thomas only noticed him when he was literally dying.

If Newt had survived and gotten over Thomas, he would have loved this song. Here is the evidence of my point:

And it reminds me of situations when Thomas was only interested in Teresa and Newt had to watch it or just live with the knowledge that he was option number two:

The lyrics fit a bit because it reminds me of what they had before Teresa came into Thomas's life in the Glade. Their conversations or the time they spent together and then it was just her, her, and her again. As if Newt had sunk into the ground or ceased to exist even though he was with him all the time, even when Teresa was gone.

I'm currently writing the last chapter. If I finish this shit, I swear I'll write more and more because I'm obsessed. Re-reading the first book in the Maze Runner trilogy is so fun. I notice a lot of things that I didn't pay attention to when i was reading before. And i have so many headcanons about Newtmas. For example when Newt and Thomas are sleeping together. Newt always wrapped his arms around Tommy.

[Btw i write in polish not English because the descriptions of EVERYTHING is just easier to me in my native language. But if you want to read it in yours, put it in the translator. The language is not intricate or complicated so it should be well translated]
