The Tick [three episode + two characters] > MANY CHARACTERS

This series, The Tick, surely has quite some varied eligible characters. Arguably, the most notable is the episode "Evil Sits Down For a Moment", where all sorts of furniture form the army of Ottoman Express, a lady that has had no friends in her life except for furniture - her own words [first two character images and first episode image].

Characters: Ottoman-Express-obeying furniture, including "the world's most comfortable chair", Eastern Bloc Robot Cowboy, Uncle Creamy

Episodes: Evil Sits Down For a Moment (1995), Tick vs. Europe (1996), Tick vs. Education (1996)

On top of that, there are two recurring characters that fit on this list, starting with a notoriously criminal man with a literal chair for head:

Secondly, we have a recurring character, a sunflower, who recruits other plants by using his Plant Vitalizer to animate them:

Lastly, I'd like to mention:

Dean is one of Chairface Chippendale's henchman, gifted to the criminal for his birthday. He appears briefly in episodes "The Tick vs. Chairface Chippendale" (1994) and "Tick vs. Science" (1996).

The creepy buildings are from a nightmare that Tick experiences after being hypnotized by a mentalist, called Mr. Mental, in "The Tick vs Mr Mental" (1994).

This entry certainly is eligible, featuring almost EVERY object in the episode as a living character at some point! Even the doors and ceiling join the party! They go from unalive, to alive and good, to bad, to good, to unalive - a complete cycle. Ngl, I didn't even know there was a My Little Pony show this old, but I'm glad I found out about it.

Howl's Moving Castle > Calcifer

Feisty, sarcastic, powerful, prideful, but also surprisingly endearing - and kinda adorable? Calcifer is one of the few characters I've encountered so far that play a big role in a media that, other than them, doesn't include eligible characters. And what a character he is!

Uncle Grandpa > Belly Bag

Inanimate Object Characters List | Entry: 107

Imagine carrying your best friend always with you, just like how Uncle Grandpa carries Belly Bag, one of the major characters in the series of the same name as the former.

There are also the minor characters Eelly Bag, Belly Bag's evil doppergänger, and Bottom Bag, another fanny pack character. And if you want to count food, Pizza Steve is a major character, too.

For the next entry, we got a Sonic episode, called "Huge Home Electronics Panic!" aka "Mean Machines". It surely wasn't a smart thing to, of all people, let Dr. Eggman near any kind of machine.

Two entries ago, the brought-to-life appliances were still trying to take over the world. Last entry, they showed mercy. Now, they've finally learned to just be happy and enjoy their newfound freedom.

I mean, it's still not too optimal to have to wash our clothes ourselves again, but at least the appliances are minding their own business. Heck, I might even join them for a game of golf if they would let me.

Randall shows us exactly what we SHOULD NOT do (destroying objects for no reason) in order to avoid objects turning against us. He should be grateful that at least these metal lot were reasonably tame and forgiving and they didn't decide he was their cue to end us all.

In this Darkwing Duck episode, the appliances go from helping the antagonist (who brought them to life) to take over the world, to deciding to do take over themselves. I think it's save to conclude that it's just an inevitable scenerio when appliances become sentient.

We're going on a spree of old episodes requests! The first one is from Danger Mouse, the most British episode I have ever seen for real.

The appliances are rebelling against humanity. I mean... animality? I see an imposter, though. Why is a ruler participating? I think they're serious about the take-over, by the way. Ready to throw hands, with those red boxing gloves-like hands, haha. And I can't believe it. Not only is there both a toaster and a fridge for the two counters, but they're also STACKED TOGETHER now?!

| NLRP #37 | Favourite inanimate object characters

Last week, while looking for more entries, I came across this Reddit post that asked what our favorite character is who's a sentient object and of course, I had to reply to a question like that. |B)

I got way too many favourites in this catagory of characters. I eventually decided to pick two of the most obscure The Brave Little Toaster characters: the stove that appeared in the junk shop and the entertainment complex in Rob's mother's house. Each of those two are "special" to me in their own funny way. I also chose Grem from Cars (though there are MANY other Cars characters I love, too). And the elevator from The Lift (that's why the movie is in my top 3 favourite horror movies, obviously). Later, I decided to further expand that list with Electrode and Klinklang. I've been downright OBSESSED with all of these characters. Naturally, all of these (except the Pokémon) are from media that are my favourite media as well.

To give them some recognition and appreciation, I thought I'd share that list with you guys here, too. Now I really want to know who y'all's favourites are, so if you want, do let me know in the comments. :D

Why... WHY do I love this stuff so much? I don't even get it myself.

In contrast to many other media, in this Duncanville episode, it ain't the appliances against humans, it's the APPLIANCES AGAINST APPLIANCES. And honestly? I think I might like this EVEN MORE than the usual concept. It's so random... and I'm a big fan. 👁👅👁🙏

For YEARS, I have been looking all over the internet for media about this concept. Yes, there were two animations on YouTube and that episode from Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero, called "Rockullan, Papyron, Scissorian", but nothing BIG. Heck, I actually ended up making my own rock, paper, scissors characters back then because I thought it had unexploited potential. But then, in 2024, it appeared it indeed was only a matter of time before the game finally got it's own series.

From the looks of it, I'm not disappointed so far. The artstyle is high-quality and cute (love it) - and their designs are different from my own (ngl, that was a relieve, lol). You bet I will watch this sometime soon.
