After many years of hiatus, the Infrequent Buyers Club has been restarted, thanks to sponsorship by Quartz Family Hardware. This repair and repurposing society provides community-owned tools, like sewing machines and welders, to wring every bit of use out of anything a person owns, with monthly prizes at meetings for the oldest functional piece of equipment brought in for demonstration. And for those who truly can’t let go of a belonging, members are experimenting with animate object necromancy, using the club’s old beverage fridge as a case study.

In this Darkwing Duck episode, the appliances go from helping the antagonist (who brought them to life) to take over the world, to deciding to do take over themselves. I think it's save to conclude that it's just an inevitable scenerio when appliances become sentient.

Dnd Spells: Animate Objects

Animate Objects is a level 5 Transmutation spell for Bard Sorcerer and Wizard. Casting Time is 1 action Range is 120 feet Requires a Verbal and Somatic Component Duration is Concentration up to 1 minute.

Objects animate at your command. Choose a number of nonmagical objects within range that aren’t being worn or carried, aren’t fixed to a surface, and aren’t Gargantuan. The maximum number of objects is equal to your spellcasting ability modifier; for this number, a Medium or smaller target counts as one object, a Large target counts as two, and a Huge target counts as three.

Each target animates, sprouts legs, and becomes a Construct that uses the Animated Object stat block; this creature is under your control until the spell ends or until it is reduced to 0 Hit Points. Each creature you make with this spell is an ally to you and your allies. In combat, it shares your Initiative count and takes its turn immediately after yours.

Until the spell ends, you can take a Bonus Action to mentally command any creature you made with this spell if the creature is within 500 feet of you (if you control multiple creatures, you can command any of them at the same time, issuing the same command to each one). If you issue no commands, the creature takes the Dodge action and moves only to avoid harm. When the creature drops to 0 Hit Points, it reverts to its object form, and any remaining damage carries over to that form.

Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot: The creature’s Slam damage increases by 1d4 (Medium or smaller), 1d6 (Large), or 1d12 (Huge) for each spell slot level above 5.

Almost anything could go feral, if it was canny enough to survive the process of abandonment and capable of hardening a heart that might otherwise be broken by the fall from domestication. Feral furniture, left on curbs and street corners or fallen from moving vehicles along the highway, had been interbreeding in herds for years. In vacant lots or along overgrown shoulders, one might spot something with an assortment of shelves and legs, roll tops or coat hooks on the big stags, passing headlights glinting off mismatched drawer pulls that regarded humans with the angry suspicion of the once-loved.

Skibidi Toilet doesn't confuse me because like 80% of the artists I was following on Tumblr in the mid 2010s were super into objectheads, so a machinima series about an interstellar war between objectheads and the ideological opposite of objectheads is normal to me.

Deer nose botfly, Cephenemyia stimulator, Oestridae

As the name suggests, the larvae of this species are obligate parasites of cervids (deer). Larvae hatch in the adult female fly’s uterus; she then flies near the host animal and flings them into or near the animal’s nostrils. The larvae migrate down to the base of the host’s throat where they attach, feed, and mature. Mature larvae are ejected out the nose or mouth and pupate in soil.
