Logging back into this account after six years (edit: 4 years, apparently I had a brief two days of activity back in 2021 lmao) feels both incredibly and blissfully nostalgic while also being akin to a walk of shame.

my return to this website is brought to you, in part, by reminiscing recently with one of my dear friends that I met on this site while drinking the bellarke kool-aid and also, I started playing mass effect like two weeks ago and am experiencing a brain rot I haven’t felt since the [redacted]. and when I say brain rot, I mean I am having the itch to write again. unfortunately, I feel like I have missed peak mass effect fandom activity by about…15 years.

so, maybe I’m tempted to write bellarke again because it’s familiar. it’s what I know. And god, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss it. or maybe I’ll write mass effect fic despite the very likely outcome that no one will read it. frankly, it’s just nice to feel the itch again.

anyway, I don’t know if anyone even remembers me or is still here. but if you are, I hope you know I missed you and hope you are doing well <3. despite the trauma of being a blarke Stan, I wouldn’t trade those years for anything.

I should have added the disclaimer that if you still love the show, that’s totally okay and don’t let anyone make you feel bad for feeling that way! I’ve always said that we are entitled to feel how we feel, even if it’s not the “norm” or what’s popular, and although I’m on a different side than I used to be, your feelings are still valid!

so what a wild ride, huh? I know I haven’t been active for quite some time now and I’m sorry for that. Life has sort of hit me all at once and this year has been a trying one to say the least, as I’m sure its been for all of us.

The show is back tonight and normally I would be ecstatic to finally get to escape back into that world, to see blarke pLaToNiCaLlY look at each other and think about the 700 fanfic ideas it inspires. But unfortunately, that excitement isn’t there this time. And I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve spent so much time away from fandom, or because the showrunner proves time and time again that he’s a piece of shit. Probably a bit of both.

So anyways, all this to say I probably won’t be watching this season. Or, if I do, it’ll be clips on YouTube. I’m done giving Jason his free promotion when he clearly does not care about his characters or his plot, but instead his own continued career and shitty writing. He doesn’t care about the fans— and yes, I know this fandom can be a bit feral at times, but it’s no different than any other fandom from what I’ve seen. He doesn’t care about the people on his show. He cares about him and his own success. Nothing else. And I’m sick.

Maybe one day I’ll come back to this blog. Or back to writing fanfic. But for now, I think I’m done.

I have had so much fun being in this fandom with you all. This has been a place that has given me so much, I’ll never be able to express how grateful I am. I’ve loved making real life friends through this, getting to write for you all, and read/love your art. I don’t think there will ever be another Bellarke for me. Wow, I can’t believe we’re at the end of the year/decade. I’ve met so many absolutely wonderful, talented people on this site and I really want to show my appreciation for everyone. Thank you for putting up with me falling in love with new fandoms like constantly and thank you for continuing to support me. This year, in particular, has been full of big changes, I got my braces off, I graduated from high school, I started university (and first semester of first year went very well!)
