I wanted to make a post version of a TikTok I made, so spoilers for Arcane S2, but hear me out-

Gold is needless to say, one of the most prominent colors in the show. You see it everywhere in Piltover, in the academy uniforms, within the Kiraman family, within the house Talis pallet, and most notably on Mel and Viktor, the two people Jayce holds dearest.

This might not seem important until you look at these parallels.

When Jayce is alone in the other universe, he's thinking of these two people, the ones he holds dearest. The fire compliments them greatly but also highlights the gold Mel is wearing. It's of great significance. Her worth is visible, obvious. Whereas Viktors only gold is his cane, made for him by Jayce. But the interesting thing is that both of them have their eyes closed. Why?

Because if Viktors eyes were open, you'd see the gold. The worth. And Jayce is realising he see's that in Viktor as well. And he's missing it because he's so far away. He walked out on Jayce. On them.

And while we're talking about objects and their association, what are eyes, if not a window to the soul?

Which is why this parallel is SO important.

It's not just what Jayce is looking at. It's what he's seeing. Worth. Value. Gold.

This is why it's so important that Jayce realises Viktors value is in his soul, no matter how corrupt it may become. Not that he didn't value Viktor before, simply that he knows exactly HOW he values his worth. Remember, the Hexcore completely changes Viktor, but especially his eyes.

His soul, in a sense, is gone because of what Jayce did. But Jayce can see it, even in sorcerer Viktor, that even if he ascends with the Hexcore, he's still Viktor, deep down. He's not gone.

Even if on the outside, he's a completely changed person, his wants, his values, his whole person, disabilities included, he has a wonderful soul. And he's still Jayces soulmate. Even if Viktor himself forgets.

Am I calling Jayce materialistic in a sense? Probably. (Not really)

Am I also saying gold is so heavily associated with Jayce that him seeing it in other places could be symbolic of his connection to a person? Perhaps.

Okay, Arcane fans, listen up

Too many people focus on ONLY this frame (as tragic as it is)

Yes, Viktor looks this distraught because he never expected Jayce to hurt him, but additionally, because he's never expected Jayce to reject him. Jayce is and has always been the one person in his corner since he's known him.

Whereas THIS frame-

Is equally important. Because he isn't surprised. Not because he's ever expected Viktor to hurt him, but simply because he knows this isn't Viktor. It's the Hexcore. Something he always knew could hurt them both. And was personally responsible for having hurt Viktor with it.

Arcane S2 spoilers below the cut, but Jayviks, let's talk about THAT scene

I hate how the scene with Jayce going into the commune to do what he promised. It feels too fast-paced, too quick to appreciate, and not emotional enough on either part of Jayce or Viktor. But there's crumbs, and those crumbs keep me awake.

Viktors body, once he awakens from the hex-core, is, while at first rejected by Viktor, because he asked Jayce to destroy the Hexcore, but now he's fused with it, adored by Viktor eventually. He can help people, the thing he always wanted to do, he can be in peoples minds and understand them in a way the world as it was wouldn't otherwise allow. And of course the main thing: It's walking.

And yet, even as it withers with a bowling ball sized cavity in its chest, the closest thing he's ever had to a "perfect" body, he doesn't look to see the deed in all it's gore. He looks at Jayce.

Was betrayal or love pulling his eyes?

I don't know what's worse.

Maybe it's simply that as "evolved" as he sees himself, Jayce has always been the most perfect thing in the room to him. Even if he's hurting Viktor, Viktor knows he won't stop loving Jayce.

Watching it happen always makes me question, what's the harm? And I always have to realise its not about the harm. It's about the conformity. I cannot stress enough that conformity is the most quiet form of ownership.

Starting off, here's Eros, a half-elf (high elf) bard of small yet notable acclaim within Baldurs Gate and Wyrms Crossing. He's a whore, let's get into it 👀

A= Aftercare (what they're like after the act)

•He's nothing if not a good lay, and knows he likes things a little intense. Never one to accept bad reviews, he's very attentative, full of praise, happy to clean up and prepare food and drink. He's not one to dissapoint.

Xmen fans, I'm having The Thoughts™ and I'd like to share a small scene, written basically as a screenplay script (And this totally isn't from the Xmen fanfiction I need to write up and post one of these days)

Kurt, walking into the kitchen one evening to eat/talk with Logan: "Oh, good evening students! How go your studies?"

Jubilee, Bobbie, Kitty and Anole, looking at eachother.

Kitty: "All good, Mr.Wagner."

Kurt, wanting to be helpful: "Is there anything I can help with? Shakespeare is a hard study, I'd be happy to-"

Kitty, while Bobby, Anole, and Jubilee get up and start leaving: "That's quite alright, I think we're just going to take this to the library and study there. Goodnight!"

Kurt, in uncomfortable silence: "...That keeps happening"

Logan, not having looked up from his plate: "What, the kids taking a walk whenever you show up?"

Kurt, nodding: "I don't understand. I know I've not been teaching very long but, surely they will have adjusted to my face by now, yes?"

Logan: "Ain't the face, Blue."

Kurt, sitting: "Then what?"

Logan: "Jubilee's had their fair share of Jesus crazy Foster parents, Bobbie was born to some, then Kitty and Anole have their own stories too."

Kurt, looking down at his cross chain: "...Oh"

Logan, still not looking up: "Yeah"

Kurt: "...I'd never do that to them, surely they know that, yes?"

Logan, looking up finally: "Give em time. They just need a reason to believe that you're different"

Kurt, tucking his cross into his shirt and standing: "Then I will"

Kitty, Bobby, Anole and Jubilee look up to the sound of knocking at the small library doorway:

Kurt, leaned in said doorway: "Forgive me, but might I have a word?"

Students, all nervous, nod:

Kurt, taking a seat on a nearby table and taking a breath: "I-"

Jubilee: "We're sorry, Mr.Wagner, about yesterday. Logan told us you seemed upset and we didnt mean to-"

Students, looking at eachother, confused.

Kurt: "I've heard about your bad experiences with people of my faith, so I know your unease around me is well founded. I'm more upset knowing there are people out there who judge you. Not just as mutants but as people that are also different in other ways too."

A nervous pause.

Kurt, smiling: "I mean, the bible is pretty long, but with the ten commandments, basically footnotes for the whole thing, they've no excuse to judge, it literally says right there"

Kitty giggles, Bobby smiles.

Kurt: "The point of this is- while I can't erase that some people think of themselves like He who died on the cross, despite their sins and judging you, I can assure you that I will not be like them."

Another pause.

Kurt: "You are safe around me. Regardless of who you love or how you express your souls. The only people that are not safe around me, are people that threaten you. That includes people who share my faith. There is not a single teaching that could justify you being persecuted for something you did not choose."

Jubilee, Bobby, Anole and Kitty all fall quiet, looking at eachother.

Kurt stands and turns to the door, having said his piece: "Right, I shall leave you to study. Apologies again for-"

Kurt pauses, feeling arms around his waist.

Anole and Kitty, hugging Kurt: "Thank you"

Jubilee and Bobby get up too, joining the hug.

Kurt, smiling: "Mein Gott, the bar really is in Hell for us isn't it? All I said was you won't be hate crimed in my presence"

Cut to Logan standing outside the door, hearing the quiet laughs of the students, smiling, before walking away. Kurt leaves eventually, closing the door behind himself, seeming a little misty in the eyes. He looks down to where is cross is still tucked away before pulling it out and letting it rest above his shirt proudly once again.

Being a fruity gentleman with a long history of bad experiences with the Catholic Church and catholics as a whole (I bare no ill will to the community) I struggle to feel safe among believers in God (Christians and Catholics specifically) and I've got plenty of friends in my generation who feel the same. And I was just thinking how Kurt would respond to that in the students at the Xaviers school.

This moment is so sweet. Big bad Wolverine who's never feared death, much less God, turns to his religious loved one and asks, knowing at the very least the two may be parted, if he deserves something good after this life. And hoo boy is he asking the right man.

Logan: "If you had to, I mean really had to pass judgement on my soul, could you fairly say I'd have a kind afterlife?"

Kurt: "Oh, that's a silly question. You are my very souls fire, and I refuse to believe a kind God would allow me to be by his side in eternity without you, whom deserves a kind God most. So yes, you will have a kind afterlife. And I shall love you there, just as I have here"

And even before then, everything is awful. Her parents pass when she's still young, the adults that should have been looking out for her, saddle her up with some douchebag that would gladly let her die for his goals, she trusts him nonetheless because fuck, shes just young and naive. He then sells her off to the devil that puts the final nail in the coffin and takes her heart, her organic centre, pumping life through her, and replaces it with this mechanical substitute that is literally only made for her to be a killing machine, and then she's made to fight in an army she KNOWS is on the bad side. Doing awful things to people she otherwise has no qualms with, simply because its that, or die. (which explains why she feels for Astarion so much, because WOW those parallels don't get mentioned enough)

It's astounding she survives all of this, and is still known as the "golden retriever" character. The giggly, dances because she can't stand still, messing with her hair, not paying attention "Aw, is that Gales grandad?" Girly. No matter what, she's invested in and empathetic to LITERALLY every other compaion, not once does she "Oh, you think that's bad, lemme tell you about MY shit show-" trauma Olympics the others, even when Shadowheart, Lae'zel and Astarion to some level all do that.

It's not just the suffrage she goes through, but also the grace in which she carries it. Only once does she run around, burning and breaking things, and even then, it's out of excitement. She's free, if only for a moment.

i am once again thinking about how karlach is doomed the second she leaves avernus. she finally escapes the hells after a decade and gets a tadpole put in her head that will inevitably kill her. she gets out of the nautiloid and there's a warlock hunting her down. wyll doesn't kill her but there are still people looking for her. even when they're gone and she's finally free, SURPRISE there's a cult trying to destroy the world. and if she makes it through against all odds and kills a god and saves her home, her own body burns up and destroys her unless she returns to her prison. she's dead if she stays and dead if she leaves. i'm eating bricks

Oh my God there's so much depth to the WHY of their friendship, fuck it, I'm going into it, I have to, incoming rant

It's so important to understand that they have the "real shit" when it comes to friendships/relationships. Shared. Trauma. It's not often explicitly pointed out, much less focused on, but in the weirdest way, they've experienced basically the same shit in different ways. To really draw lines, lemme lay out some dots;

Logan can't keep anyone around

This is one of the important ones. While they experience it in different ways they both end up with CRIPPLING abandonment issues, granted they go about it in different ways.

Sabertooth (His brother) - turned against him, ends up dying by his hands a lot

Jean/Silver Fox - Self Sacrifice among other things (Like Logan having to kill Jean in last stand)

His parents - Bloodbath, what a way to find out you're a mutant

Wade, Blob, John, Chris, Stryker - Dead, sacrificed themselves, killed by his enemies, turned against him by Stryker, Stryker is a dick

And that's all without going into SO MUCH other shit. I'm just talking the movies, this isn't even the many others in the comics.

BUT!

Kurt was abandoned by his mother, and he never gets told why (again, just the movies) and when he does, it's not a satisfying and kind reunion, it's just traumatic. His entire circus turned against him after his brother killed many children, blamed Kurt, and then tried to kill him too. The mother who raised him, the sister who he loved all gone because his brother just flipped out and decided "Fuck Him" out of basically nowhere for him. By all means, Kurt should be just as untrusting and closed off as Logan, yet he welcomes even the coldest of people with open arms. He should be angry, self conscious and expectant of the worst, and yet he's THE optimist among his friends.

Logan loses control

Over life, but he's an X-Man and a Mutant, so that's par for the course, but on a bigger scale. He loses control of himself and is brainwashed every other comic. His brain is still squishy and ready to be "Longing, Rusted, Furnace"'d into service again after what X did to him. It happens at least 7 times, where he either does something awful because he has no control, or outright hurts his friends because of it. He once killed the entire xmen in a comic because Mysterio decided, "fuck you" that day. He's one of the strongest on the team so he's the last person you want it to happen to, and it keeps happening.

And poor Kurt understands all too well. Stryker manipulating him in X2 aside, his own "biological father" (quotation marks bc I can't remember if this is before or after the retcon) but he summons Kurt to an island via telepathy or some shit, and a bunch of other mutants like himself to help him with some BATSHIT plan to kill all mutants that aren't visibly mutated. It's wild. But still. Between that and being lied to his whole life about his origins, that's going to add a difficulty tweak to his ability to be the sane one.

They're both animals

Not literally, nor would I describe them as that, but within their universe, they're always seen that way. Being taken for project X, having his memories wiped/changed, being injected with adamantium, experimented on, given extended life/healing factor, tortured and all kinds of other awful things. He was called an animal, treated like one, responded to being called one. He was an animal. Not a person. That was his life. And all the people hunting him from project X, know it. His feral defensive nature doesn't help others not see him that way, but he cannot help it. It's all he knows.

And Kurt, prize lion of the Munich circus. He was literally kept in a cage at some point and scared children and adults alike. He was their creature, the public made to believe he was simply in a costume. Even the ringmaster hated him, despite him being such an attraction. Like Logan, he was just a dog with a bone to fetch. Not a person. Even after leaving the circus, he's still known to have people yell "Demon!/Devil!" When they see him. It doesn't matter how polite he is, people see him and assume the worst. And despite this, he's kind enough for him and Logan in terms of how he conducts himself.

Kurt has the patience and the decorum enough to understand that people don't know what they're saying, that surely not everyone wants them dead, they simply have yet to speak to them and know they're people. They don't know what mutants at large, much less mutants like himself and Logan are going through. But he doesn't begrudge Logans lack of patience. Because he knows that his and Logans pain is something to kill a man from the inside. He knows Logan has been robbed of the man he could have been unfairly, simply because of what he is. He knows that Logan is just tired, because he is too.

So he understands more than anyone that Logan isn't an animal. Not a tool, a means to an end. He's just another man doing the best with the cards he's been dealt. And Kurt is simply happy to be sitting at the same table with someone who knows his pain.

It's honestly crazy that discussion around testosterone HRT skews so much towards the beginning stages of it (to the point that you have dozens of guys thinking their transition is "failed" if they don't pass by like a year in lol) and what the initial changes of the first couple of months to years look like, like the classic laundry list of those early basic changes like bottom growth, voice drop, etc, when IMO literally none of that compares remotely to the depth and intensity of the long term total masculinization you start to experience like 3-5+ years in.
