·˚✦.* nora is born in 278 AC, making her the youngest child and second daughter of tywin and joanna lannister. her mother joanna dies giving birth to her. instead of the typical golden mane of lannisters, her hair grows darkbrown, which raises the suspicion of her being a bastard — tywin denies this and forbids it to speak of this, as the only hope of clarity died with joanna.

family. despite these accusations, tywin raises her like a trueborn-lannister. he quickly realizes his daughter’s intelligence and wit – this becomes a challenge, whenever they are of different opinions and it does not change with the years. cersei despises nora from the moment she comes into this world. she ‘killed her mother’ after all. nora learns to hide the disappointment this brings her, for she has no other choice. it is easier than to beg for the sisterly love she will never receive. with jaime it’s different – he does not share cersei’s opinion and loves his little sister. nora admires him dearly, despite his known missteps and mistakes. tyrion and nora have an exceptional understanding and defend each other’s names, whenever the need arises. however, nora does not share his enthusiasm for wine and whores.

nora was once betrothed to robb stark of winterfell, but the wedding never took place due to the later-arising differences between the starks and the lannisters. tywin betroths her to another, to nora’s disdain.

in the middle of the battle of blackwater, she has to make a choice: stay in king’s landing or flee. horrifying thoughts of stannis’ men breaching the walls and the lingering knowledge of being married off to a stranger make her irrational. when she leaves the other women and children, sandor clegane crosses her path – drunken and hectic. he tells her he is leaving and in her panic, she asks him to take her with him. their journey is hard and his crude personality makes it even harder. weirdly, she seems to warm up to him and eventually even he does to her.
