CHALLENGE: You’re throwing him a surprise birthday party

"Surprise!" we all shout as we pop up and throw confetti.

"A birthday party," Lord Vader notes. He sounds... unimpressed. My heart flutters.

"Um, yeah." I fidget in the awkward silence. "Here!" I say, rushing to the counter to grab the pan. "I made you chocolate muffins!" They're decorated with mini Death Stars.

"Muffins? Those are not traditional."

"No," I say. "I thought-"

My breath cuts off. The muffin pan clangs to the floor. I look up to see Lord Vader's outstretched hand.

The last thing I hear as my vision goes black: "I find your lack of cake disturbing."
