I stopped visiting after there were claims the site was going to be deleted (or was it just the ex side?) so I didn't even know it was still active. I'll give it a go as well, thanks for the suggestion! Either way though, I have to actually finish scanning a book from beginning to end before I share it as a compiled thing.

Not that there's been any activity in years here but now that Tumblr is formally jumping into the AI data scraping business this blog is officially dead. I haven't scanned any new works in a hot minute anyway, but if I ever finish one of these book, it'll be posted on the Internet Archive.

Afterthoughts  NAMIKI Takashi Editor

Regrettably this book cannot be a collection of Komat-chan’s best works. Animation drawings are often discarded once they have served their purpose and those drawn for other usage, say for a magazine cover, are never returned in many cases. That leaves me with very little.

But his faithful fans and animator colleagues kept what they could, and it is thanks to them that I managed to edit this book.

Personally, I cannot thank Komat-chan enough for the support he gave to my activities at Anido. However, what I value the most is the time I spent as an animator in his team, much more than my directorship of the company.

If I were to die in not too distant future, I will take some of my animator friends with me. TOMONAGA Kazuhide and KANADA Yoshinori for sure, for not only are they my best friends but they were two of Komat-chan’s most-valued partners. And we will make a fine animation together!

I would like to thank all those who turn the pages of this book, and to my late husband’s fans, friends and colleagues who contributed to its creation.

My husband was always working, whether at home or at the studio. So even in the world beyond, he is sure to be working still, doing animation which he dearly loved. When the new project is finally finished, I will travel to where the night sky is clear so that I can see his latest work.

He kept on drawing until his last moment, holding a pencil in his hospital bed. This book contains his passion for his art.

My husband used to say that he owed his success to the people he’d met, and to them he was grateful. I wish, on behalf of my husband, that the pictures contained in this book will convey his gratitude.
