A self-directed essay I wrote in 2021 about Mikan, my beloved (and why I think people who believe in punishment are flailing red flags).

I was at the parenting scene before Encanto, Turning Red, and the Tiktokification of gentle parenting, so the trailblazing was fun while it lasted.

Reflecting upon the cross-cultural studies I've annotated, I realize that progressive childrearing attitudes are the intangible trophies of globalization; it's usually upper-middle-class whites who get first dibs. In retrospect, it makes sense: they have the time, leisure, and cultural backing to break generational cycles of emotional immaturity.

If you were ever a child who wondered why their parents hadn't adopted the inaccurately-dubbed, "white parenting," let my words hold space for you. It wasn't Eurocentric of you to think that way, for not even Puritans believed in child-centered parenting. It was a novel paradigm that had been waiting to unveil itself after all scores were tallied.

It's more winner-centric than anything, insofar as the winners were arbitrarily chosen.

The phrasing of the cuckoo section is eerily similar to the narration in my cuckoo comic dub … Not only that, but the shrike was also offered as an example of humans moralizing avian survival tactics.

I'm sure countless video essays have debunked anti-nlog feminism by now, but it's really a cover to discriminate against transmascs, neurodivergent women, and any female from an unprivileged demographic. Not only does it triple-oppress women who lack access to science-backed coping mechanisms, but it also dissuades hyperfeminine bullies from redeeming themselves and from growing as people. I'm guessing your bullies haven't apologized to you yet?

No one should condone male bad actors, but nlogs wouldn't exist in the first place if mean girls hadn't. In fact, I'd assert that mean girls MODELED their behavior to nlogs. We were all young, but that same fact implicates us for shaping each other throughout our formative years.

You know the field of nursing? It's full of overgrown mean girls. Some of your hospitalized loved ones are getting abused by them right now. There will be even more of them if you prevent them from doing intense self-reflection.

What started as an earnest attempt to include the hyperfeminine in feminism ended up as a vehicle to punish the original victims. This is everyone's problem, so be a part of the solution and don't engage with anti-nlogs or their content.

In a nightmare, I was kindly informed that people who had put their loved ones on long-term life support are more likely to get haunted by grotesque, contorted versions of their spirits than those who were able to embrace reality and let go 👍👍👍

I NEVER would have thought up of this awake, so this hypothetical allegory blew my mind. Storytelling material?
