These are absolutely badass and make me want to draw a poster for my husband.

weeks 11-20 on my weekly poster challenge this year, crazy I've actually managed almost half a year of getting these done. 1-10 here.

A quick sketch of my OC Elia.

She's a character I created for some Divergent AU's I was thinking of. Primarily a soulmate AU where she's paired with Eric Coulter.

This was a quick sketch thrown down on a new ipad I just got. I was chatting with my family while doodling this up simply because I wanted to try drawing her hair again. In this version of Elia, her hair was cut shot after almost catching on fire. A blaze started in the dry summer on one of the fields of Amity. She tried to help someone and because of it the fire caught her hair and burned her neck. Liora was able to put her out (though not with getting burns herself) but later Li had to cut Elia's hair to get rid of the singed areas.

So I really wanted to draw that short curly chaos with the burn mark on her neck.

Elia is a woman also residing in Amity with Liora. She's on the shorter side at 5'3". She's got a smaller build than Liora's with a bit more curves to her. Her hair is blonde with curls in it. Her eyes are a bright blue.

She is an OC created when thinking up random Divergent AU's. The main one being a soulmate AU where she's paired with Four/Tobias.

She is a firey kind of woman with a kind heart and a love of plants. She's on the taller side at 5'9" with slightly broad shoulders and an athletic build. Her hair is a deep copper color that is kept in a messy braid half the time. Her eyes are green and she's sporting a slight tan from her time spent outdoors among the plants.

The little outfit doodle was me just trying to get an idea of how I wanted to dress her. She does wear skirts and dresses but prefers the easy movement of pants. So I was trying to think of a general outfit she might wear around Amity.

Or at least my rendition of him. His hair is definitely subject to change just because I was testing out some hair styles for the different guys to figure out what might work for their characters better.

Eric Coulter from the Divergent series.

Or at least my interpretation of him. I got a new ipad mini to use as kind of a digital sketchbook and the first things I draw are some characters from my Divergent soulmate AU I was thinking about. Starting off with Eric's look.

His look kind of combines the book's description of "long hair" with his movie look of having the shaved sides. I even gave him a man bun. I redrew his ears several times, and just noticed I forgot to add one of his gauges. So we're gonna ignore that tidbit. I also forgot the bar piercing through the scar above his eyebrow like I did in his previous sketch.

Divergent series sketches for Eric and Four/Tobias. Definitely like how these ones came out a lot better than the later sketches you'll see posted at a later date.

I was figuring out their designs, referencing both movie and books. Eric got longer hair due to the book's description of having "long hair" compared to his movie adaption. Plus I apparently like shaved sides since I kind of gave them both that detail.

These sketches were originally drawn while I was doodling the girls that I paired with Eric and Tobias in a soulmate AU story idea. Nothing I plan on writing but I can at least draw some ideas from it.

Some sketches from a Divergent Soulmate AU I was playing around with.

Elia and Liora are both from Amity. Liora is soulmates with Four/Tobias while Elia is Eric's. After drawing them (and Fred the turtle), I thought I'd try the guys next. I started with Eric because I wanted to get a better idea of what to do with his hair. In the movie, he's got shorter hair and shaved sides whereas in the books he's described as having "long hair" with many piercings. So I melded those together a little as well as throwing in my own extra details (maybe to go with my AU). So I gave him long hair on top/back and shaved sides.

I also thought to shift Eric's tattoos a bit. Moving the grid pattern up to his shoulder instead. It's a work in progress.

I've taken long breaks on this one because life has taken up too much brains pace to focus. I'm rather proud of myself for trying new techniques and brushes with this one. The only problem is, if I take too long of a break in-between working on it, then I forget how I colored something. Does anyone else leave themselves little notes to remember what brush they were using or how they were doing something? Especially if you're doing multiple drawings at once?

Little more progress on the Alma piece I’ve very slowly been working on. I’m starting to get in to the design of her jacket a little bit.

Rockden, a PC from the D&D group my husband is part of.

After drawing my husbands character I started working on other characters from the group. With each character I’ve been testing out new things to try when it comes to the coloring aspect. It’s my weakest point and I’m using these drawings as a way to test things out.

Rockden’s drawing has been the biggest challenge so far just because I wanted to try working with the smudge tool in Procreate. It’s something I’ve only rarely used and thought I would give it a try. It’s….coming along.

A WIP of Rockden, a PC from the D&D campaign my husband is part of.

After working on my husband's character, I started drawing other characters from the campaign he's in (both PC and NPC). Rockden has been a trickier character to draw for me. If I ever get through the coloring phase that I'm on now and finish this piece, I hope I'm able to show a clip of the time-lapse because it's been a wild ride of revisions and do-overs.

I just hope the final product is something the person who owns Rockden will actually like. It does help that my husband has been my biggest cheerleader through the process of all these character drawings even when I'm feeling very low during those "ugly phases".

Dorothea, a PC from the D&D campaign my husband is part of.

He's been in this group for a while and I thought after drawing his characters, I'd try my hand at some of the other characters (both PC and NPC). Dorothea is the twin sister of the woman my husband's character is married to. The sister is an NPC where as Dorothea is played by someone from the group.

It was actually rather fun to work on her. During the process of her, hubs and I started tuning in to the Pokemon regional championships on youtube. He introduced me to WolfeyVGC and it just sort of snowballed from there. So now I'm working through different character sketches while curled up on the couch, watching the tournaments.

These sketches were just some initial figuring out the design of the characters based off both their character pictures and some art that the DM has drawn of them.

In the older AU version of him, he was stripped of his title and banished by an evil brother who took the throne. In the OG timeline, he becomes king by overthrowing said brother with the help of his friends. All while they attend Strixhaven.

At the request of my husband, I gave him a crown that might look familiar depending on how deep you go through the Game of Thrones lore. It is Maekar's crown, designed by Arthur Bozonnet. Found on the Wiki of Ice and Fire. He really enjoyed the design of it and wanted it to be Nate's crown for this drawing. Which it was quite something trying to draw.
