Hello everyone, I know it’s been awhile since I last posted. But TRUST this AU hasn’t been abandoned, I’m just a busy uni student lol. I don’t have any new lore to share right now, but I did feel like drawing Ken so here he is ^_^

Curious if your au is based on vanilla or Royal? If it is Royal, I'd like to know what Ken's dynamic with Sumi is? Personally, I find their dynamic to be the one with the most potential (at least in my own pt!Ken au). And also his dynamic with Maruki.

Ken and The Phantom Thieves part 6: Yoshizawa ;) + Maruki

Sumi is such a sweet girl. I don’t think she’d be put off by Ken much. In my AU, even though Ken isn’t part of any sports team, he still loves to exercise and has a training regimen. I imagine they would exchange tips, and Sumi especially admires Ken’s ability to make delicious yet healthy meals. It always brings an odd… feeling to her. Like she could add more to that topic but she can’t find the words. I think they could also connect as two honor students under a lot of pressure (yes Ken is an honor student despite his appearance lmao) and as people with survivor’s guilt. Of course, Ken has grown a lot since the time of his friends’ passing and with that he could help Sumi reassure herself. The girl needs it

Ken is a goldmine of trauma for Maruki to unpack lol. But seriously, with how nice Maruki is, Ken could be pulled by him to an extent bc sheesh Shujin is a mess. Even with all his experience and troubles, Ken is still is just a boy who needs to talk to someone.

The lines are too thick to be like the persona style though. Speaking of the persona style it’s hardddddd. It’s the eyes… it’s always the eyes…. I didn’t even try to draw them accurately here lol

I made a quick drawing of Ken as Poser because I’m procrastinating on a assignment, but I’ll take this opportunity to talk a little about his personality and reputation in my AU because I realized I haven’t done that.

Personally, I like to think of an older Ken as a mix of SEES. He spent a significant part of his upbringing with them after all. He’s got Mitsuru’s diligence, Akihiko’s discipline, Yukari’s honesty, Junpei’s goofiness, Fuuka’s kindness, Aigis’ dedication, Minato’s coolness, and Shinji’s words to live by. Although, he did develop a rather blunt attitude like his late senpai. Ken wasn’t always like that though.

Before moving to Tokyo as a second year, Ken was the polite and enthusiastic star student at Gekkoukan. Lore happens that I won’t get into right now, and Ken is now one of Shujin’s enemies. He tends to call out students or teachers that have some shit to say. How he differs from Ryuji as a punk is that he isn’t loud or aggressive, but his words don’t pull any punches.

Ken has a mixed reputation. On one hand he’s a top student and from the few people that have had the guts to ask him a question or be tutored by him, they say he’s a relaxed and polite guy. On the other hand, he’s the guy who starts arguments for no reason, goes to seedy areas at night, and gets into fights with thugs on the streets. So the rumors say.

In reality, Ken is just someone trying to get by after being put in a situation he’s not happy with at all. The punk scene makes his life livelier and exciting before he gets roped by the Thieves into their mess.

As for his goofier side I mentioned before that he’s a loser when it comes to girls, he’s a bit pretentious and vain when it comes to his punk identity and looks, and sometimes it’s obvious that he’s trying too hard to be serious. Tease him enough and that childishness will jump out :0

For real, I've liked this ship for a long while...

An idea that I like is that Ken doesn’t gaf about Haru’s status and wealth because hello. Friend of Mitsuru Kirijo and Yukari Takeba + aquaintances with Rise Kujikawa. Yeah, it’s hard to sway this kid with that kind of influence. Haru can relax knowing that Ken genuinely likes to hang out with her.

Ken and the Phantom Thieves Part 5: Ryuji >:)

Outside of the third years, Ryuji and Ken’s relationship is one the most significant in my AU.

They met shortly after Ryuji’s leg was broken by Kamoshida and Ryuji realized he’d be in deep shit if he failed his exams now that he didn’t have track to fall back on. Fortunately for him, Ken volunteered as a tutor at Shujin and was the designated troublemaker taker so Ryuji was directed to him for help. Seeing Ryuji’s determination to improve despite his god awful grades, Ken took Ryuji under his wing and helped him even outside his tutoring hours. Ryuji admires Ken a lot and Ken feels proud to have helped someone as misunderstood as Ryuji out. By the time they met, Ken had already begun his punk journey so his reputation wasn’t the best, and neither was Ryuji’s. Their friendship didn’t last long as eventually Ken had to succumb to his third year duties, but they still keep an eye out for each other. Ken is kind of like what Akihiko was to him but to Ryuji if that makes sense? Ken finally gets to be the “admirable” senpai lol

Ryuji is also the one to drag Ken into the Metaverse for the first time but I’ll spare the details on that for now >:)

Looking up what specific part of Ryuji’s leg was broken is actually insane because it’s heavily implied it was his FEMUR BONE (his thigh!!!) like that bone requires a lot of force to break… Kamoshida deserves an eternity in hell for real…

Ken and the Phantom Thieves Part 4: Haru <3

I confirmed in my previous post that these two will be shipped yes. The three HaruKen enjoyers in the world rejoice.

Ken and Haru met as classmates when Ken transferred to Shujin during his second year. They weren’t friends then, but Ken liked Haru because she was one of the few girls in class that didn’t bother him. He used to have that pretty boy look so he was initially kind of popular. Haru tried to befriend Ken as they sat next to each other but was intimidated by others trying to do the same. Anytime they did exchange words, it was pleasant but not too engaging. Ken’s crush on Haru was nothing major. He knew nothing would come out of it, plus he’s low key a massive loser. Having Junpei and Akihiko as the only male figures in his life to give him dating advice makes him handling any romantic feelings even worse.

In their third-year they reconnect when Ken is trying to find something to do at school that doesn’t require a whole lot of commitment since Akihiko nags him about staying productive. Clubs don’t want him, he hates the student council, he especially hates the sport teams, so when a teacher told him of a student tending to the rooftop garden, Ken was like eh ig it’s something.

Haru likes Ken’s company and thinks he’s such a gentleman. She suspects that Ken is attracted to her somewhat but dismisses it because ya know, she’s engaged, my poor girl doesn’t think anything will happen plus Ken is generally a nice guy T_T Ken is an oblivious fool.

Gah, these two are just so sweet. I think I’ve written more about them than anyone else whoops.

Ken and the Phantom Thieves Part 3: Makoto :]

Ah yes, the top two third years at Shujin that consistently tie in exams. One would expect them to get along because of that, but they actually butt heads at first because Ken thinks Makoto’s got a stick up her ass, and Makoto thinks Ken is an irresponsible douchebag. Ken joined the student council when he transferred during his 2nd year but quickly realized the workload teachers would dump on them was extreme, not to mention the members themselves were either lazy or the worst ass kissers. Despite that, they have somewhat mutual respect for each other which is the barrier that keeps them from being enemies. They’re classmates as 3rd years and Ken sometimes stops by the student council room to help Makoto with paperwork despite not being a member.

I love these two!!! It’s no wonder P5 Ken AUs often pair them together. They’re not a couple in my AU tho, sorry MakoKen enjoyers lol

Ken does listen to punk music, as well as stuff outside of that. I imagine him to be type of person who listens to a bit of everything. I like to think Minato had that influence on him hence Ken wearing his headphones. What specific music he’d listen to is something I’m still gathering. Unfortunately, I’m not well-versed in the Tokyo punk scene, and I’ve listened to too little Japanese punk music in general to have an opinion on it. He’s definitely someone who listens to local music as he frequents shows in Tokyo though. I shall do more research! >:0

I will say when it comes to foreign punk music I think Ken would enjoy well-known bands like Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Misfits, and maybe some Ramones hmmm maybbbee Descedents? O_o

Ken and The Phantom Thieves Part 2: Akechi >:0

I didn’t expect to reveal this so soon, but since you brought it up, Ken and Akechi are related in my AU!!! How so idk yet because I keep flip flopping between them being brothers or cousins. I already have scenes planned out for either scenario so it’s just the matter of time whether I like the progression of one more than the other. Either way, the two have an interesting dynamic as they’re actually roommates. Why? Ken’s “distant relative” decided it was time for him to return to his family (and to keep close tabs on someone close to the Kirijo Group but shhhh). By the time P5 starts the two have been living together for over a year and by that point, Akechi’s mask has slipped off. He’s not yelling bloody murder, but he definitely doesn’t grace Ken with the princely attitude he has in public. Things only get more tense between them as the PTs start to gain momentum…

Anyways, a little morning walk :) Akechi never gets proper sleep, but Ken is an early bird

Happy to say Koromaru is alive and well!!! He lives with Ken in their apartment in Tokyo. I’ll make a separate post on those two another day.

SEES are more or less the same as they left off in P4AU.

Yukari continues to be an actress, although she takes on more roles outside of the Feathermen franchise as she wants to branch out.

Junpei is engaged to Chidori and works as a full-time baseball coach. The couple live in Iwatodai.

Fuuka was offered to work for the Kirijo group by Mitsuru as a computer engineer when she graduated University, but Fuuka wanted to establish herself as a capable engineer on her own accords. Too bad that means she’s overworked to the bone.

Akihiko works as a police officer in Tokyo. He moved there not too long after Ken so he could keep an eye on him.

Mitsuru is as busy as ever being the CEO of the Kirijo Group on top of investigating the mental shutdown cases occurring in Tokyo. I’m still struggling to settle on an outfit for her lol. She may be a CEO but Mitsuru always manages to look like a pirate somehow

And my favorite for last, Aigis! She works as Mitsuru’s elegant bodyguard. I was so happy to see that P3R finally gave her a casual outfit that wasn’t just her beach dress. She looks so cute! I didn’t want to give her a clunky black trench coat like P4A has her in, so I gave her business casual dress sort of. I think the blue butterfly pendant is a nice touch :D

As you may have noticed I prefer drawing femme figures, so apologies to the Junpei and Akihiko fans. I swear I’ll cook up some better drawings for them when I feel like it ToT Also P4AU already aged everyone by like 10 years design wise when they’re just 19-20, but to be fair half of the cast don’t look their age in P3 lol

Take your time! It's the same with my PT!Jin AU and many others aus I have, I write whenever I have time or motivation to do it. Forcing yourself to write will only make it worse. So it's good to take your time with this stuff.
