Welp, it’s 12:03am on December 17th. Goodbye Tumblr. It’s been real.

That 800 point stock market dip yesterday was Tumblr putting itself out of its misery.

A better, more positive Tumblr

Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, we’re proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.

Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).  

Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.

So what is changing?

Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.

Why are we doing this?

It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.

So what’s next?

Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.

Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.

Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.

Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.

You’re such a dumbass. Not everyone who commits mass murder using assault weapons is ‘mentally ill’. Some of them are just fucking evil, and they have the access to the means to act out that evil because we have no fucking gun regulations in this country. Open your eyes you fucking capitalist sheep. “People would still use bombs” is not a fucking argument for why we don’t need gun control. Critical thinking skills buddy, get some.

I don’t know what comment you’ve seen of mine anon, but I can assure you I’ve never implied that mentally ill people are the only ones committing mass murders. We also need to worry about religious zealots, political extremists, and most of all gang members. But by and large, the majority of these highly publicized mass murders have been committed by people on psychotropic drugs. Yes, people would still use bombs and cars and even knives (like they have done in other countries). And now that the future is looking to be much more technologically advanced, you, I, or anybody else with a thousand bucks to drop on a 3D printer can MAKE their own firearm from scratch. Making it more difficult for law abiding citizens to get firearms only puts them at a disadvantage to those who own illegal, black market guns. And yes, we do have different regulations on different types of guns here in the states. Lastly, please stop using buzz words like “assault weapons” to describe those black, spooky, military style RIFLES that do the exact same thing as any other type of semi auto RIFLE. An assault weapon is any object that is used to assault somebody.

When I see a post with the phrase “don’t remove my caption” or something similar plastered at the bottom, it removes all aesthetic that the post may have had. It’s like watermarks on social media photos. The only purpose it serves is to muck up the photos so people won’t steal it... however in turn it makes people less interested in sharing or buying it as well.

Never mind the fact that I don’t believe this nonsense at all BUT this statement is totally inaccurate and untrue as far as the original story goes. In Genesis 3:2-3, Eve clearly demonstrates to the serpent that she knows that she isn’t supposed to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. She flat out tells the serpent that God told BOTH of them not to.

People who fall for this and say “Adam was a fuck boy” are the same people who read the headline on tabloid sites but not the article then don’t actually follow up with research about the accuracy of the article.

Quit making up shit as an excuse to hate on men then calling yourself a “feminist”.

The first sin. Misconception is that Eve was the first to sin when that’s not really all that true.

You see When God created everything and then Adam. He told him about the tree he said don’t eat of it.

God never told Eve.

When Eve was in the garden being tempted read that section you’ll find something interesting. Adam was right next to her and he didn’t say anything. He was using Eve as a Guinea pig.

Eve bit into the fruit nothing changed she handed it to Adam. And when he bit into it their eyes were opened.

So really the first sin was Man’s passive nature allowing something to happen he was told not to allow happen if he never ate their eyes may never have been opened but who knows.

The shoe is pink and white. I correct color for photos and videos 5 days a week for a living. Here’s the same photo color adjusted for the hand. It’s a rough edit since I did it in 30 seconds on my iPhone but you can clearly see the shoe is pink and white. Skin just isn’t blue like the hand in the original photo.

Look, the shoe is pink and white. Color correct the photo for the skin tone on the hand. In the left photo, the hand looks blue and dead. When you fix the hand, you clearly see that the shoe is pink and white.

Unless a business provides a life saving service, business owners should be allowed to do business with whomever they desire in whatever manner they desire regardless of what our court system says and regardless of what laws are on the books. Of course this is my opinion but I don't believe in coercion by force, especially not paid for by my tax dollars (which are also coerced away from me by government force but that's a different topic).

I swear if I make it home with my mind and some skin on my bones I'll be the first one to throw away these car keys and this cell phone‬ so I can't leave or talk to anyone - and this stupid wrist watch so I'm unaware of the time that I've lost trying to be that which I'm not.

A vote for a third party is not a vote for Trump and it is not a vote for Clinton. When neither major party is trustworthy you go with the party you do trust and won't win do they might get more federal funding and ballot access in future election cycles.

Trump and Hillary are equally corrupt. They are both working together to keep the elite on top and us far enough from the top to keep voting for them.
