Will this double the amount of paint I can apply to my canvas or strip away the last 5 layers? Only god knows

Small ramble about Theo from Westmark

WARNING: Vague spoilers for the whole trilogy. (Which I HIGHLY reccomend btw)

Theo's biggest problem is that he's stuck in a cycle of guilt. He NEEDS to feel like a good person so he's willing to do whatever it takes to earn the forgiveness of others (regardless of if he's even done something that warrents forgiveness) because he feels GUILTY. He disregards his own morals and contorts himself into a monster to fulfill other's needs. And in the end he inevitably feels even more guilty than before, because he ended up doing something fucking horrible. He swears to himself over and over that he'll change and do better.. but then another character applies pressure to him and he fucking folds. Because he still feels GUILTY. He is always miserable. He can never forgive himself and this enables others to use him like a fucking pawn.

This is all wonderful from a writing point of view btw. I love Theo as a character. It's just sad how he has gone from an innocent child who once almost killed in self defence to a fucking serial killer/shell of himself, despite his good intentions.

Oh and also the homoerotic trauma bond. Cant forget about that😋

I'm in my process of reading the last book in the Westmark trilogy, and I thought it would be fun to do a little crossover between Westmark and The Chronicles of Prydain since theyre both written by Lloyd Alexander :3
