not sure how many people have posted about this (probably many), but a hypmic ace attorney au is 100% plausible.

hitoya and jakurai have the same childhood friends to bitter rivals to friendly again plot as edgeworth and phoenix, although their personalities make it more like edgeworth and phoenix swapped roles

kuko is exactly like maya, except maya is more self deprecative. they’re both acolytes (who are more talented than they give themselves credit for), they both really like shows and manga geared towards young boys, and they both treat the lawyer like a walking wallet lol

charley the office plant = amanda the pig plush

edgeworth has kay and sebastian? well jakurai has ramuda and yotsutsuji

i stand by the fact that doppo and hifumi kindated apollo and klavier

theoretically this would mean jyushi as trucy, but i think jyushi as trilogy ema works too

while you obviously can’t do a one-to-one au, you could still easily rewrite ace attorney with hypmic characters. i actually did plan this out because i am insane

i wrote this all months ago, delirious, late at night, and in a discord echo chamber so it may not be cohesive
