I’m a hell of lot more feminine than masculine, but godddd. Suits and dress pants and all that look so good and are so comfie! It’s kind of weird because some points I’m like, “I’m gay, bitches! Y’all are in dresses and I’m a girl in pants!” and other times I’m like, “please. Call me pretty. I’m wearing pink makeup and a dress!” I don’t know how to describe it, but I know other people have felt the same. It’s just, being a girl is too much sometimes. It’s easier to dress like a man. And then again, I could never want to look manly all the time. I think that that’s just me though. Somewhere in the middle of the fashion spectrum.

Happy birthday love.
Happy Birthday, Love!
You’re finally 16!
You can get your license,
Get a car and drive away.
and you’re leaving so soon.
Leaving me behind.
You’ll be happy there. I know you will. You’ll make new friends.
Make new memories.
A lot changes in one year, doesn’t it?
I barely knew you last year. I was friends with different people.
of course, so were you.
That will be what happens next year.
It always does. The text grow far between
and eventually,
old makes way for new.
I’m not sad. I mean,
I am.
but not about that. I know how this works. It’s happened before. I know I’m being dramatic.
I always am.
Forget it, you’ll never see this. I love you. I wish we had more time.
You are the most special person to me.
Happy birthday, love.

“You’re so pretty!”
“Omg you’re so nice!”
“Wow your hair looks so nice today!”
I don’t know why I have to have that little voice saying you’re lying. You must be. That’s why I hate compliments. I never know how to respond. I know you are fucking lying. I don’t see it, so why do you? My parents don’t see it, so why do you? I wish I could look in the mirror and see someone who is pretty or skinny. I wish I could see myself as a good person. I wish I liked the aspects of myself that you comment on. But I can’t. I just can’t.

your story deserves to be told, even if it’s currently told like a raccoon on energy drinks.

Pride
I want to live in a world where I won’t have to hide who I love. I’m a child. I shouldn’t be scared of being shunned for that. I shouldn’t have to worry about the wrong person knowing. It’s not fair. To me. To that kid who ended their life over this. To that little boy who cried. To any and all. Yes, we are fighting. We are fighting a losing battle. If we can’t even exist without being mocked, without going to class and being bullied, then how can we say things are changing? Pride month is about showing who you are. And I’m going to join this battle more because this. Is. Not. O. K.

hehehehe tomorrow is my day!! Bring out the rainbows!
happy pride, my loves!! 🌈
i won't lie: it's a scary, scary time right now, but i think celebrating and being around folks who can and will support you is incredibly vital. take care of yourselves and each other!! nothing is more important than community.
if you're not in a place to celebrate, know that i'm toasting you and wishing you a happy pride as well. this month is for you just as much as it is for those who are out and able to celebrate openly! happy pride to those who are single. happy pride to those still healing. happy pride to those still figuring things out.
and to my fellow lesbians, in particular!! hooray!! it's our time to lez out and be unapologetically you (as long as it's safe to do so)!! i hope you get all the kisses from the pretty girl of your dreams <3
my inbox is always open if you need a listening ear! i love you and i'm sending the best vibes your way :)

Me: I fucking hate editing. Wife: Oh, so you like the actual writing part of writing better, then? Me: Marginally. Sometimes that's awful, too. Wife: .....then why do you write? Me: Because if I don't, the voices in my head never leave me alone. Wife: ....so when's your next therapy appointment?

We joined the Coalition for LGBTQ+ Youth
Some pre-Pride news to be proud of!
To introduce ourselves as a new coalition, we want to speak directly to the LGBTQ+ young people we serve:
Dear LGBTQ+ young people,
You deserve the world. We see you, and we are here to support you as much as we can, and in every way that we can. We will never stop fighting for your ability to lead the healthy, safe, full lives you deserve. We’re with you, because we are you. We are a collective made up of queer and transgender folks, and allies, who were once young people, like you. We also needed the care and kindness of our elders to make it this far, and we promise to pay it forward as best as we can. Queer people have always existed, and we can never be erased. We know that, you know that, and we are committed to using our platforms to ensure as many people as possible outside our community know that, too.
There’s a lot of hate being hurled in your direction these days, along with a seemingly endless stream of misinformation about who you are, and how you live your lives. And yet, you keep going – fighting through it, and rising above it. You inspire us every day, and we mean it wholeheartedly. Your capacity to love is limitless.
We don’t know what the future holds for our country. But with you in it, we know it will be bright.
Keep finding your joy. We are in this together.

I don’t have a normal setting anymore. Either I feel too much for the wrong things, or I can’t feel anything at all. The only thing keeping me from homeschooling is music, and a select few people.
