Demo version is now in Japanese!

For our demo, we decided to work with Kimitaka Ogawa-san, who did the localization work on Coffee Talk, A Space for the Unbound, Sea of Stars and other popular indie games. We are in Ogawa-san's debt. Just like we did with our Early Access Beta in English, we're releasing the demo in Japanese for about 700 yen for early backers. We don't have a set release date for the full game, but if enough people support us, we'll be able to afford to have Ogawa-san back to translate the entire game. We'd like to release the game in other languages, like Spanish and Portuguese, but we're working with a small budget being just the two of us. Thank you again for your continued support of us.

What is Terranova?

In December of last year, @mabbees and I gave a talk at Nerd Nite Tokyo about a genre of games that have been called "desktop simulators" or "UI games"—essentially, a narrative fiction that takes place entirely within an interface, whether it be a smartphone, an old school Mac, or an imaginary interface in hypnospace.

We called these types of games "Interface Dramas," as in, "telling dramatic stories through the use of interfaces."

We think this should be its own defined genre and should be something games can be tagged as on Steam, just like "point-and-click adventure" games or "story-rich" games.

Check out the transcript of our talk—it goes over what interface dramas have in common with other adjacent genres such as interactive fiction, visual novels, simulation games, and alternate reality games, and what makes them different.

It still doesn't feel real, participating in a big indie game summit like this. It was only two years ago that our beta was part of the 2021 Queer Games Bundle. I can't thank Taylor enough for reaching out to me on Twitter.

Without QGB, I don't know if Terranova would be in the libraries of many folks today.

Terranova is coming to BitSummit in Kyoto!

We’re excited to announce that Terranova has been selected to exhibit at BitSummit, Japan’s leading indie game festival. This will be our first in-person event showcasing our game.

For the festival, we're doing limited edition screenprinted USB sticks with a copy of Terranova + Steam key.

BitSummit will take place on July 14th-16th in Kyoto, Japan.

a piece i did for magnifiqueNOIR by @brichibi ⭐

drawing black magical girls has always been a dream of mine so im really excited that i got asked to do this. the book has been kickstarted and will release in October, with my art on the final page! here you can see the three main characters; Bree, Lonnie and Marianna chill out after their last mission. the next day, the girls spend their time enjoying each others company, singing and baking cakes, while reflecting on the events of the day before. what means a lot to me in this piece is that i got to draw them being carefree and having fun.
