Since your leaving tumblr, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your art history blog. I'm an arts major undergraduate, and every time I learned something new in art history class, you'd literally reblog a post related to it *mindblown*. Anyways, I wish you the best for your future!
Ah, I'm so glad to hear that! Best of luck with your studies 🎨
Thank you, y'all are making me tear up a bit. 💕

since you're leaving tumblr, are you moving to a different platform like blogspot or wordpress (for either this or your other blog)?
I don’t think so. I’d like to spend less time online in general. I am trying to prepare for graduate school in the next two years so I am doubling down on my reading (mainly history but I also really love fiction and poetry) and German, since that is where I hope to go for school.
I don’t really use a lot of social media–or rather, I’m trying not to–but you can see what I am reading on Goodreads :) https://www.goodreads.com/vasilysa

Hey! I love your blog, I'm a huge fan of this period of art too and specialise in it at university so it's great to meet others who love the same thing. :) What do you think of Louis Anquetin? He is one of my all time favourite artist's, although I'm so sad he seems to be underrated! Have a lovely day.
That’s great! :))
You know, I actually hadn’t heard of him until now, so thanks for bringing him to my attention. Watercolor and pastels are such great mediums–I feel that is underrated :D

3 the art institute. what were some of your fave works? i made it 2 the van gogh exhibit opening weekend..got pretty emotional because we tried to go on opening day during a blizzard and when we arrived there was a line of people all the way down the block waiting in the awful weather to see the exhibit. van gogh was such a sad dude and i wish he would have had the chance to see how much his work means to so many ppl.
Well, unfortunately I had to race through the institute, I greatly underestimated the size of that place, so I was literally running from gallery to gallery before closing time. I really wish I had been able to visit the Byzantine and Islamic Art sections, ahh, I’m kicking myself now!
I really enjoyed the impressionist gallery, of course. I ended up talking with a docent about the giant Caillebotte painting of Haussmann’s famous Parisian boulevard, because it had recently returned to Chicago from the Kimbell in Fort Worth :) He was very pleased to have it back, hehe. And seeing one of my favorite Berthe Morisot paintings there was just wonderful.
I really like how they included architectural details from the city itself inside. Chicago has such an amazing architectural history, I really want to go back when I have a chance.
Opening weekend!!! You’re a brave soul, that must have been so hectic. It was really crowded when I went, and that was two weeks ago.
I feel similarly. I hope he does realize how much his art means to so many people. 🌻

Hello!
I'm afraid this blog is no longer active. I am, at least for awhile, not going to be using tumblr anymore.
I've really enjoyed running this blog and sharing art with all of you. I hope you have enjoyed it, too. I'm going to keep it short and sweet before I get too sentimental. I really have enjoyed having this art blog and having discussions with some of you. I'm going to try to reply to the few messages some of y'all have sent me now.
Anyway, thanks again for sticking with this blog.
Best,
Molly
