Let’s talk about the astounding similarities between cats and autistic people, and how we should make them the official autism mascot instead of that godawful puzzle piece

people will complain about “”woke”” media with their full chest and in the same breath they will talk about how much they love helldivers and The Boys which are both very obviously anti-capitalist and anti-nationalist. conservatives try to use a crumb of critical thinking skills or media literacy challenge: impossible

late diagnosed autistic afab person starter pack (MY OPINION ONLY)
- constantly being told by therapists that you are just “so self aware!!”
- CBT not working
- being a high achiever only to burn out and feel like you have disappointed everyone
- meltdowns mistaken for panic or anxiety attacks
- having a hard time forming connections with female peers and being unable to function in friend groups
- having a disproportionate number of neurodivergent friends
- having strange traumas that most people would not have found traumatising
- specific clothing material preferences
- “exploding” after a long day of social interaction
- being a completely different person at work/school and at home
- unusual/complicated relationship with identity, gender, sexuality
Please note that I am not a psychologist, and I am simply basing these off my own experiences and patterns I have personally observed while researching psychology out of pure interest. These things can apply to you without meaning you are autistic!

a not very talked part about the autistic experience is not knowing how you look like at all. I am constantly under the impression that i look very masculine and putting on nail polish, makeup and a dress feels like doing drag. i am only person that sees me this way. i cant tell whether or not i am conventionally attractive by taking a look in the mirror. the result? an over reliance on validation from everyone else.

when they tell you you have the patience of a Saint but that's because you've essentially had to do gentle parenting on your relatives since you were a child in order to get any point across

Remember as days get colder animals are attracted to the warmth of cars so check wheel arches or other hiding places.
