So many ideas come to mind. Like taking the elevator to the store, then taking your grocery items home. Would be awesome for school campus as well.

Colorado is getting a nature/animal bridge on I-70 !!!  this well be a special kind of bridge that allows traffic to flow under in a tunnel, and for animals to cross over on top. the bridge well be covered in plants to blend in with the surroundings, and well help prevent road accidents when animal cross over them. instead of in traffic. if all goes well it looks like we could see other bridges as well.

Hyperloop in New Denver
the Hyper loos, Elon musk’s Tube travel idea.
like a magnet train it would hover and thus prevent wheel friction, or possibly eliminate the wheels all together. the second part is that its housed in a vacuum tube, this prevents air friction. thus the train can move some 400 MPH this means it would take just 30 minutes to cross an area of 200 miles. moving south from Jefferson Colorado is about 25 miles to Hartsel. and another 25-30 miles south to “South Hartsel” meaning with Hyperloop you could cross from North Park County to South Park County in about 15 min, which currently takes just over an hour
youtube
(Elon Musk’s original concepts ^)
(a 3D concept of Hyperloop) notice the whole roof of the tube is covered in solar panels. also each pillar holding up the tubes, as well as each station well provide additional geothermal, and solar energy.
(concept art for a Hyperloop station) as you can see, a station could be a very modern and active area. even if your not using the station for travel it well still offer lots of social areas and shopping, as well as recreation the this map shows all of Park County. if we take the blue line north to south that crosses from Jefferson to Hartsel which would be a proposed line for Hyperloop, as well as another line west from Fairplay to Glentivar.
the Purple areas represent major population, while the orange represents where new major populated areas would spring up as a result of new infrastructure.
the red line represents an extension of Denver’s Light rail RTD (regional transportation district) system. a large loop moving from
(clockwise from the top) Jefferson-Tarryall-Lake George- eleven mile State Park - Highway 9 - Hartsell - Antero State Park -  Fairplay - Como - then back to Jefferson. this would be key to providing the area with speedy Electric transportation. as well as integrating Park and Ride locations at each stop.
this well not only promote the use of environmentally friendly electric public transportation. but well stimulate the publics travel habits. as well as become a key element to the growth of new Denver. as the area sees growth this system well have already bin set in place. which well ease traffic congestion, and provide its own solar and geothermal energy which in itself well have a surplus of energy to distribute to nearby shops and restaurants.
these park and ride / transit stops well be also be metropolitan gathering areas for shops, malls, mixed living, restaurants, grocery, museums, clubs, parks, and other areas of interest. thus well further stimulate the local economy as well as provide Commons areas for concerts, farmers markets, fireworks displays, and like minded events of the local towns.
with a implemented electric bus system
vimeo
the local areas well allow travelers/commuters the ease of not even needing a car. commuters well be able to move from one town to the next, do all the shopping they need, go to work, and even recreation from going to the GYM, hiking, or going to a club and need only travel to the nearest park and ride, or get on the town local electric bus and take it to a station. from their they can travel anywhere in new Denver for low cost.

normally when we think of 3D printing we think of layers being stacked very thin. with a new layer every pass. the proses takes hours and when making prototypes or when you need several of the same object it can take days.
also while as 3D printing is continuing to work on resolution issues that can make a product rigid and can create extra work when trying to move to injection mold products.
HOW EVER this new 3D printer. rather should be called a 3D extractor. it works in revers to pull objects out of a liquid resin and uses UV light to harden the material by flickering layers of the image at the edge of the pool. the elevator then pulls the object away while the print is happening. this means that a whole layer can print all at once in a flicker. rather then having to extrude the complexities of each layer. it also means more solid builds, and of coerce the time is a fraction of what it would be normally.
the cons are that its fighting against gravity when buildings, and it also would be more limited to the materials it could print. that still said this could still work on even a larger scale when it comes to 3D printing buildings or large structures.
imagine parts of a playground, or furniture printed in moments. a new city bench for a bus stop....or a cover for the bus stop. again printed in moments and ready to install.

Very cool device. now imagine it on a even larger scale. just like we now have 3D printers for homes. what if this laser cutter was making other parts for communities as well.

THE FUTURE and you (self driving cars)
self driving cars
first off lets talk self driving VS what Tesla Motors calls “auto piolet”
Tesla is providing current drivers with cars that can stay in the lane they are in, and take the rout they need to fallow by GPS, and use a variety of sensors to navigate obstacles from other drivers, to different road conditions such as pot holes, or ice. to switch lanes the driver them self’s needs to look them self’s to see if the lane is open, and then tell the car by flipping the turn signal.
Tumblr media
(a combinations of radar, inferred, and HD cameras keep your car aware of the road ahead, traffic signs/signals, and cars around you)
Tumblr media
self driving on the other hand COULD mean that the car is actually without a driver all together and can make all the lane changes by its self.
Tumblr media
safety
road safety and the safety of those on the road can all be dramatically helped with automated driving. no matter how good of a driver you are, your still human and thus venerable to distractions, and the humans ability to multitask.
a computer inside the car with all of its sensors and software can know of a variable and make adjustments before the human mind has even registered a issue.  sensors that measure variables like ice, snow, wind, angle of road, other cars, lane shape, relevant speed, rain, pot holes, traffic signs, and lights, tire traction, and interior parts like motor, temperature of the car, even condition of your brakes. it well then take this data in a fraction of a second and make adjustments distraction free. this dues a lot more then get you from point A to point B. it also well eliminate distracted drivers from the roads, as well as drivers under the influence (from anything marijuana, alcohol, prescription drugs, even things like poor eye sight, and falling asleep at the wheel.)
Economy
shipping is a multi Billion dollar a year industry. think of the high costs of paying mass amounts of insurance for drivers, vehicles, and the products them self’s. by putting a self driving truck in charge of shipping, eliminates the need to pay a driver, or insure one. it well also lower insurance coasts on vehicles and the products being shipped, everything from furniture, food, appliances, materials, lumber, livestock, and more well then have lower shipping coasts overall, and with materials at lower prices from lower shipping coasts, then the products them self’s well be cheaper to make, and cheaper to ship to stores. which well be a BIG help to the economy when companies can save millions on those shipping coasts. not to mention shipping well be faster, with self driving delivery vehicles. only need to stop for maintenance or to charge (as they well most likely be electric vehicles) then that also saves on coasts that are made when a driver stops for gas, or to rest, eat, or sleep. and thanks to tesla when they come to charge they dont even need a human for that either.

Convenience
concept cars are already being shown that well be made from the ground up to fit this self driving future. outfitted with touch screens, conference style seating, and in car Wi-Fi to keep you entertained or productive while your on your way to your destination
Tumblr media
some “real life“ concepts like this google made car dont even have manual steering.
Tumblr media
Tesla motors is working on even more then just driving, by adding self parking and parking spot detector, and when true self driving cars come to market they well introduce a valet service that well park your car for you, and come back to pick you up when you call it with your key fob.
Uber the ride sharing service want to put a couple thousand self driving cars on roads soon. which wont just challenge taxi companies but also public transportation.

as we begin to adopt alternatives to electricity for our planet. things like solar, wind, geothermal, hydro electric. these things well also inspire more electric devices over the use of having gas.
a new innovation in recent years has bin the “induction” cooking method to heat pans. it works by using a magnetic frequency that can charge the pan and then cause the pan to heat. this method is not only more energy efficient, but it make the temperature extremely stable when cooking. as well as apply heat directly from the pan. the surface of the cook top actually never gets got. all the heat in fact is generated from the pan its self.
that mixed with new mediums of technology including displays and touch could mean the kitchen of the future is one that is not only internet connected but also smart enough to help you during the cooking proses.

Hay its part of Colorado, its a BIG part of Denver, with some 10,000,000$ a month in tax revenue alone.
1/11 commercial buildings quickly becoming marijuana related in some way. its not only a economical consideration, but also a way a life and its tax revenue goes to schools and roads. which means infrastructure (like schools and roads)
in other words, bring the marijuana business to the area and you well bring in the money needed for CDOT to build roads, and to build better schools in the area.

Project new Denver
Ever heard of South Park Colorado? We’ll keep that in mind as you read.
Tumblr media
.....well close but not what were talking about, although the creators of the south park tv show did both grow up in Colorado and base the show around park county, more specifically the town of Jefferson.
but back to the COUNTY of South Park. otherwise known as “park county” ⬇
Tumblr media
As Denver closes in on 700,000 in its population, and as 200,000 people moved to Colorado in 2014. It becomes clear that Colorado needs to think about a sustainable future for all these people.
Colorado currently has become a global leader in how the rest of the world will seek to modernize.
With its transportation systems, green energy initiatives, legalization of recreational marijuana and its high source industry in technology, agriculture, and sciences.
Not to mention Colorado is the US leader in fitness, health and happiness. Denver alone is apparently the leader in being a sexually active state (and that means babies) although Colorado with its free birth control program has seen lowering numbers in youthful pregnancies.
BUT we still need a plan for how Colorado can continue its profits, continue its modern infrastructure and stay as the high end model for modernization and being a progressive state.
So here is my plan. Project new Denver
Working as a product and marketing analyst, literally since middle school. I look at Colorado not just as my home, but as a project I want to be involved in and see that it continues to be the beacon it is for that things it represents.
Back to South Park Colorado, also known as Park County.
Containing cities like Jefferson, Como, Fairplay, Hartsel and many more. The geography is surprisingly not as rough for a mountain county, in fact Park County is in a valley of sorts surrounded by a Mountain range on all sides, with small mountains scattered in the middle. It’s also high planes. Which means that the elevation of Park County is even higher than Denver but the valley is decently flat.
But as far as infrastructure, not much more than highway has bin laid down. Even the towns themselves are pretty small. The largest city of Jefferson which has the seat for the county, only has a population of 680 (as of 2010) comparing it to Denver almost 700,000 it would seem that Jefferson has a lot of room to grown. (of course when we say Denver we mean the Denver metro area, not simply the city of Denver)
But its not just a observation of “oh look a large area of land that has the potential to have major infrastructure”
The idea is to embrace all that is Colorado in this project. Things like community and street planning, alternative energy, mixed living, cities integrated into nature, public transportation, and more.
The “project new Denver” blog well be started to talk about those things at a closer inspection as well as new technologies and ideas that can help build “new Denver” things like solar power, modular or manufactured homes, 3D printed homes, Hyperloop and rail.
