Kurloz is such a relatable character to me because if I unintentionally hurt my partner because of something completely out of my control, I would also have an overdramatic breakdown that involves the destruction of every single thing to ever exist across every single timeline with the sole exception of my partner. Honestly 10/10 motivation. GF unhappy? Everything's gotta die infinity times over, me included.

would be awesome to hear your speculations and ideas about the bard class since i find your rant(?) posts really cool! and i just feel like bard as a class isn't talked enough about and im trying so bad to make a bard oc

I’m actually very glad you asked! So essentially Bard, like Prince, is a destroyer class. However it is the passive version of Prince. So where Prince destroys stuff directly (Ex. Eridan destroying the matriorb, Dirk destroying Aranea’s soul, Kurloz destroying the Alpha Trolls motivation). Bards destroy in a more elaborate, for example, Gamzee in Murderstuck goes through an elaborate series of loops to make Terezi kill Vriska.

Although that isn’t saying that Bard’s can’t be direct about destroying things. Where Princes suffer from an over abundance of their aspect, Bards moreso have very little of their aspect. Think of it like a seed. At first, they’ll ghost their aspect simply because they don’t have enough of their aspect, however eventually, that seed will grow into a deranged tree of epic proportions. Like how we see with Gamzee in Murderstuck or Cronus with his…well let’s be nice today and just say “outbursts”.

Essentially, a Bard should outwardly lack their aspect until an inciting incident occurs which forces the Bard into a crisis where they either sink into the lack of their aspect (which Cronus did by choosing to abandon his belief in magic) or swim and propel themselves into their aspect by 1000000% (like Gamzee did by quite literally killing 2 trolls, emotionally ruining Terezi, and bringing destruction through Lord English).

Bards are very fun classes although there’s not a lot of info on them so take my analysis with a grain of salt. Thank you for the ask :)

I know I don't really talk about Aranea all that much, but her relationship with Kurloz is one of the funniest things in the entire world to me. Kurloz is a Prince of Rage, a classpect that revolves around mysteries and secrets, and even considers secrets to be the "best miracle of all". Aranea on the other hand is a Sylph of Light, which is all about information and gaining it and telling other people about this information found. But while we don't really know Kurloz's feelings on Aranea (although we can assume it's negative), we do know how she feels about him. Because she CANNOT STAND HIM.

The best part of it all? SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HE'S WORKING WITH LORD ENGLISH! She thinks he's "sweet and harmless". Her dislike of him is literally just because. She has the audacity to even say him sewing his mouth shut was a "good thing".

And remember, this is with her NOT knowing that Kurloz is evil, knowing he sewed his mouth shut out of shame, and her genuinely thinking that Kurloz is a sweet person. So from Aranea's perspective, this is essentially what's happening.

I made a Homestuck OC. I’m actually kinda happy about them too. I even drew art of them (which is ass because I suck at art), but I didn’t wanna just blab about them without a visual for reference. I also just used Troll Doll Maker for the little guy in the corner.

This is my little guy! Their name is Hedeon Lirazz! They’re a Bard of Void and a Jade Blood.

The name is actually pretty simple. Hedeon is actually a Russian equivalent for the Hebrew name Gideon, which means Hewer, Feller, and Destroyer. I didn’t go with Gideon for personal reasons but liked the way the latter part of the name rolled off the tongue. Lirazz is based on Liraz, which is another Hebrew name that means Secret. So yeah, their name just means “Destroyer of Secrets”. I’m very creative.

For their design, I (very poorly) based their horns off of a moth’s antennae since, as a Bard, they’ll behave like a Light Player and moths are attracted to light. I also had it so that their eyes are covered, “voiding” them from view. I just gave them a standard dress shirt and vest because they’re a studious little fellow.

As a Bard of Void, they passively destroy Void by attempting to be knowledgeable about a lot of things, including people. They love random tidbits of trivia and can be a bit annoying with how much they like to blab. They actually also destroy other people’s Void by giving them attention, validation, and genuine interest in the things they like. But because of their focus on gathering knowledge, they has a tendency to see people as little puzzles rather than actual people.

Because all Void as an aspect also ties into sexuality and gender identity, I made them Nonbinary. I also made them Demiromantic and Demisexual. I thought it tied into the Bard part of them a bit since both Demi orientations involve having an emotional connection to feel attraction and I like the thought it would be funny for someone with the “nothing” aspect to need to have “something” in order to engage in a relationship due to them being a Bard.

Their motivation for garnering information is because they feel as though there’s a hunger (void) within them and that knowledge and entertainment is the only way they can satisfy their gluttony (bard making them seem like a light player).

If it’s not obvious, I’m a lot better at writing and thinking of character designs than actually drawing said things, but I wanted you guys to actually see how I see them. Let me know if you have any thoughts, questions, or criticisms! Thank you for reading :o)

Questioning whether I'm a Prince of Rage or a Seer of Blood. The problem is that I find both Classpects to be very relatable. Overall I'm very firm in my beliefs and hold a lot of self-shame, holding myself to an ideal that I'm not entirely sure I can achieve, very similar to a Prince of Rage. On the other hand, I'm quite literally the group yapper who loves touching up upon social justice and understanding the relationships and dynamics between people and find it to be one of my favorite things to do, much like a Seer of Blood. Overall, my motivation in life is a pretty simple one. I have almost an innate desire to make people happy. Not in a people pleaser sort of way, but just genuine joy. Many people suffer and go through ridiculous amounts of pain every day. The least I want to do is amuse people and make their lives a little easier, if not just better in the process. I enjoy fundamentally understanding people almost like puzzles and learning how I can suitably cater to their needs and bring the most comfort to them. It just makes me happy knowing that I have the ability to brighten peoples day. I'm not sure what classpect that would be akin to though, so if there's some elite classpecter that exists on tumblr, I'd love to hear their thoughts on this.

One thing I don't like about how the fandom characterizes Kurloz is how nonchalant people make him. Like firstly, he's a Prince. If Eridan and Dirk are emotional wrecks then there's no way in hell that Kurloz isn't filled with deep inner turmoil. Secondly, he's a Prince of RAGE! Contrary to popular belief, Princes don't suffer from a lack of their aspect. They suffer from an overabundance of it. Rage is not only characterized by anger but also deep shame. That man probably hates himself MORE than Eridan or Dirk and is definitely more emotionally unstable than those two. And last but not least, let's not forget about the fact that his FIRST immediate thought after accidently hurting someone he loved was SELF-MUTILATION as a form of supposed "repentance" along with literally mind controlling that same person because he was still too emotionally attached to her to let her go. He literally is attempting to bring her into his religion's version of heaven because he loves her too much to have her eradicated like the rest of his friend group. This man is not winning the idgaf contest. In fact, they banned him from even trying to attend it. He's the worlds being giver of fucks. His fucks are abundant and plentiful. If his overwhelming curiosity and penchant for riddles wasn't his main character trait, it would be his overly emotional overabundance of self-hatred. This man is the Homestuck version of Nagito Komaeda and I will DIE on that hill.

TBH there's no need to apologize. You're not obligated to respond to any sort of anon. People have this weird connotation that they are entitled to popular artists' attention and content all the time. No one is entitled to your own time and effort. If you don't want to respond to someone that's a valid thing to do. If you don't want to draw something that's also completely valid. Art takes time and effort. Artists aren't tools people can cram their requests into. I really enjoy the fact that you make content for your own interests and passions. All your AUs and art pieces you share with us are a privilege and an honor. Not an intrinsic right. I enjoy the fact that your favorite characters are the Zahhaks. It's always enjoyable to see how you interpret their characters and how your viewpoint influences your art. If you were just making art to appease the Homestuck fandom, all you'd draw is Davekat and Cronus. Heck, my favorite character is Meulin, but you don't see me talking people's ears off for Meulin art. I understand that Meulin is not your main focus nor has she ever been, but instead of being all pouty and upset and crying like a little baby, I take the time to appreciate the times you DO upload art of Meulin, even if it's just a sketch or a doodle and find myself being more happy overall. Regardless, if people stopped feeling so entitled to artists' time and effort and instead felt more grateful that such creative minds are willing to share their visions with us, I feel like the internet would be such a better place overall.

sorry, i don’t really mean to. i get a decent amount of messages, and i can’t reply to them all without clogging up the feed substantially. also, sometimes i get multiple asks that are quite similar, so rather than be redundant, i’ve got to choose just one to answer.

i usually wait to answer au lore questions until i’ve developed the lore further, or i feel like it’s at a tidier and better spot to set it in stone.

for doodle requests, i don’t do them too often anymore. i only really do them when i genuinely want to.

Just a small reminder that the Makaras and Vantas' are supposed to be foils to one another

Karkat is a paranoid, meticulous character who needs to show that he's strong and competent to eradicate any fear he has of being persecuted due to his blood color. Because of this, he has a habit of being a bootlicker but is loved by his friends overall despite his aggressive tendencies. Gamzee on the other hand is a more mellow, disorganized character who is quite literally "Terminally Capricious". He lives free from fear due to his blood color and his deeply rooted religious beliefs, however is very gullible UNLIKE Karkat who is too paranoid to trust anyone. Also unlike Karkat, he is hated by literally everyone in the friend group, including more kind-hearted characters like Nepeta and Feferi. Kankri and Kurloz intentionally take these to extremes. Kankri is a bootlicker who, despite preaching so much, doesn't even fully care about the things he believes in. His only goal in mind is to be taken seriously despite his blood color, which is why he sucks up to high bloods (With the exception of Kurloz) so much. He also finds Mituna to be a nuisance and bullies him with Cronus out of jealousy for dating Latula. Kurloz is quite the opposite. A troll, who despite literally sewing his mouth shut, is fully devout in his cause and religion. His goal is for everyone to be eradicated by Lord English due to his disdain for the "false leaders" of the group (Meenah, Cronus, Aranea, Kankri). And Unlike Kankri, who almost exclusively hangs around high bloods, Kurloz seemingly only associates with lower-blooded trolls (Meulin and Mituna). Also unlike Kankri, Kurloz has an inherit interest in Mituna due to him witnessing the incident which caused Mituna's noble sacrifice. And before anyone says that Kurloz and Mituna's relationship is toxic due to Kurloz potentially mind controlling him, I would like to point out that their one onscreen interaction during ministrife is actually positive.

Regardless, both Karkat and Gamzee, as well as Kankri and Kurloz are supposed to be thematic foils to one another, due to being on opposite ends of the Zodiac. Thank you for reading and have a great day.
