SIMS2.EXE
a short story in the style of Sonic.EXE. It is not written well, but it's not meant to be. Worktime: 20-ish minutes. 613 words
I shoulda known better. I really shoulda known better. But the second I heard The Sims 2 was getting a rerelease, I KNEW EA was gonna charge some stupid price for it. And I wasn’t about to give them my money for a game I already owned like ten years ago.
So when I saw a link on some forum that said FREE DOWNLOAD - SIMS 2 ALL EXPANSION PACKS, well... yeah. How could I say no? The user who posted it had a weird username—“NightVisitor”—but I just figured it was some rando. I clicked the link. The download was instant. Like, literally instant. One second, nothing. Next second, a fully installed Sims 2 folder on my desktop, with a shortcut named SIMS2.EXE.
Weird, but whatever. I booted it up.
It started normal. The classic blue plumbob screen. The cheery Maxis jingle. Nostalgia hit hard. I loaded Pleasantview because of course I did—where else do you start? But something was off right away. The loading screen took too long. The words at the bottom, y’know, where it says stuff like Reticulating Splines, just kept repeating HE IS WATCHING over and over.
I figured, hey, just some modder being weird. No biggie.
I picked a random pre-made house—Dina Caliente’s, why not—and started playing. But the second the game loaded, I noticed something wrong. The time was stuck at 3:00 AM. No matter what I did, it wouldn’t change. And Dina? She just stood there. Not idle. Not shifting weight like normal Sims do. Just frozen. Eyes open. Looking at the screen. Looking at me.
And then, the burglar music started. You know the one. That horrible, screechy, anxiety-inducing theme. DUNN-DUNN DUNNNN. But there was no burglar. The cops didn’t show up. The game just kept playing that awful music on loop.
Then, movement.
Dina snapped her head toward the front door. But it didn’t open. No burglar crept in. Instead, my screen glitched. Static. Flashing red for a second. And then—
BAM.
A close-up, front-facing image of the burglar's face filled my entire screen. His expression was wrong. Usually, he’s just stone faced, right? But here, he was grinning. Too wide. His teeth weren’t normal—too many, too sharp. And his eyes... oh god, his eyes. Hollow. Empty. Pitch black, but with tiny red pinpricks in the center.
My speakers blasted a horrible, garbled noise. Like the burglar music, but wrong, corrupted, mixed with static and whispering.
And then the game crashed.
My desktop flickered. But before I could even react, my entire laptop bluescreened.
My heart was pounding. Hands shaking. I stared at the error message, but it wasn’t normal either. It wasn’t a bunch of technical jargon. It just said, over and over, in blocky white letters:
“HE SEES YOU. HE SEES YOU. HE SEES YOU.”
And then my laptop shut off. Completely dead.
I tried to turn it back on. Nothing. It was fried. Gone.
I sat there, staring at my reflection in the black screen, my mind racing. Did I just get a virus? A trojan? Some kinda jumpscare mod? My stomach twisted. I felt sick.
I needed to sleep. I needed to forget this happened.
I crawled into bed, pulling the covers over my head, trying to shake the feeling that someone was watching me. That somewhere, in the dark corners of my room, a pair of hollow eyes were still staring.
Eventually, I drifted off.
And when I woke up—
My laptop was gone.
Not broken. Not fried. Not where I’d left it.
Just... gone.
The only thing left was a single note on my desk, scrawled in shaky, jagged letters.
"THANKS FOR LETTING ME IN."

Magic Anon: The Actually Helpful Post
So, I actually clicked my own link on M!A’s and found out I was a complete idiot and wrote pretty much nothing helpful at all. SO LET’S MAKE A BIG POST ABOUT THEM!
Okay so what is a Magic Anon/M!A? Well it’s a Tumblr based phenomenon that seems to be getting some spread in the Deviantart, Twitter, Facebook, and even Livejournal communities. Basically the theory is that out in the Tumblr blue yonder there exists a beast known as the Magic Anon. Basically these are people who anonymously message RP accounts and give them a task or trial to live through for a certain stretch of time. Roleplayers assume they have the uber-charged magics to do this, and allow them to spice up their otherwise perfectly normal lives with all the sparkle and fuss they can muster.
So– uh. What kind of rules are there for this? Do you have to do whatever they want? Are there any limits? We’ll cover that under the cut.

Whispers in the Meadow
Peck x gn!reader
Tumblr media
A/n: fluff, mutual crush, use of proper bunny courting (in context of Jamma), a dare. Peck in not my favorite flavor of koolaid so i hope I did her justice
In the serene meadows of Jamaa, where wildflowers bloomed in a riot of colors and the air was filled with the gentle hum of nature, Peck, the Bunny Alpha, was hard at work. Her creative energy was infectious, and today, she had chosen a sunny glade as her canvas, painting vibrant patterns on the rocks and trees.
You watched her from a distance, your heart fluttering with admiration. Peck's enthusiasm and zest for life were what had drawn you to her, but today, you had a different mission. With a deep breath, you gathered your courage and hopped towards her, carrying a basket filled with treats.
Peck looked up as you approached, her eyes sparkling with delight. "Hey there!" she greeted, her ears perking up in curiosity. "What brings you here?"
You smiled shyly, your nose twitching nervously. "I thought you might like a break," you said, setting the basket down on a soft patch of grass. "I brought a picnic."
Peck's eyes widened with surprise and pleasure. "That's so thoughtful of you," she said, hopping over to join you. "Let's see what you've got!"
You both settled down together, and you began to unpack the basket. Fresh vegetables, sweet fruits, and a selection of delicious snacks were laid out on a colorful blanket. Peck's laughter filled the air as she sampled the treats, her joy contagious.
"This is amazing," she said between bites, her eyes shining with gratitude. "You really know how to brighten a day."
You felt a warm glow in your chest, happy to see her so relaxed and content. "I just wanted to spend some time with you," you said, nibbling on a piece of carrot. "You work so hard, you deserve a break."
Peck smiled, a soft blush coloring her cheeks. "I appreciate it," she replied, her voice gentle. "It's nice to have someone who cares."
After you finished eating, Peck set down her snack and looked at you thoughtfully. "You know," she said, her tone playful, "I've been thinking about adding a new piece to my collection. Would you like to help me?"
Your heart leapt at the opportunity to spend more time with her. "I'd love to," you replied eagerly.
Peck grinned and led you to a large rock at the edge of the glade. She handed you a small brush and some bright paint, her paws lingering on yours a moment longer than necessary. Together, you started to paint, your strokes blending harmoniously with hers.
As you worked, Peck began to hum a gentle tune, and soon you found yourself humming along. The rhythm of the song and the dance of your brushes created a beautiful symphony, and you felt a deep connection forming between you.
Peck paused, her eyes meeting yours. "You know," she said softly, "creating something together like this... it makes me feel closer to you."
You blushed, touched by her words. "I feel the same way," you admitted. "This... feels special."
Peck smiled, a warm, radiant smile that made your heart swell. "It is special," she said, her voice filled with sincerity. "And so are you."
For the rest of the afternoon, you painted side by side, the mural becoming a testament to your growing bond. When the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the meadow, Peck turned to you with a shy, hopeful look.
"Would you like to do this again sometime?" she asked, her ears twitching nervously.
You nodded, your heart soaring. "I'd love to, Peck."
As you stood there, bathed in the soft light of the setting sun, you realized that this was just the beginning of a beautiful journey together. And in the gentle whispers of the meadow, you knew that your hearts had found a perfect harmony.
