How do you feel about your artwork being reposted with credit? Are you fine as long as there's credit, would you rather permission be asked first, or would you rather it not happen at all? Please and thank you

what do you think makima thought of himeno? one of my crackpot theories is that one of the reasons she made aki develop a crush on her was to keep himeno around (basically to have her endlessly pining for him since he was the primary reason she stuck around).

I think in canon she’s like the pinnacle of what Makima “hates”, as in, is disgusted with, so Makima is really fortunate feeling to be able to have Himeno out of the equation first. A really vulgar woman but one who is easy to manipulate, so not all bad!!!

Ive had a lot of people tag my stuff of them as ship art, but to me its always that Himeno loves Aki and is thus really jealous of Makima, so sometimes Makima makes Himeno in love with her as well to torment and confuse her in her final months.

Was there any plot point or writing decision in CSM part 1 that fell flat for you in an otherwise well-written story? If so, what would you change about it?

I’d change a lot about how Himeno was written. Don’t think her character was given enough time in the aftermath. More Aki reactions— finding about that night with Denji. How that would change his opinion of her, or if it wouldn’t, if he was that resigned and full of grief. I’d like to see that. But that’s just me. I’m not sure that would make CSM a better story or anything. I think that’s devisive? Mostly I’d just like it. Because I am self serving

For something I think fell flat… having only one Hayakawa family activity chapter and then immediately Aki death. I don’t think it’s too bad, but I do think it’s a bit sudden, makes it clear CSM was thought out weekly too. That’s something I really like about the anime. The original scenes are superb! Way better feeling of intimacy and mundane closeness between them.

i can't help but feel that your reasons for liking maria sh2 and makima csm are similar if not the same (not meaning this in a bad way of course, just based on my own thoughts about the two characters)

Oh, it’s definitely true. Female characters who appear as idealized images of demure femininity but actually are quite awful (though of course, Makima can not be compared to poor kind Maria). It’s fun, since the awfulness of Maria is James’ psyche torturing him for both idealizing and demonizing his wife. While the awfulness of Makima is truly just Makima.

In general, the idea of inhumaness but still being, to their very core existence, WOMEN, is fun. Not a person but always a woman. Reproductivity vs more straightforward sexuality. Though both use that tactic. I always got the sense Maria was a scared cat acting out, while Makima’s is very measured, with full knowledge of what comes next. Born from a singular wish…. Born from all of humanity’s millennia of fear. All very fun.

Why don't you like writing of pt2? I am finding it to be less dense than part 1 but it's enjoyable so far. Would like to hear your opinion on it if you're willing to share.

I dislike the writing of just about everyone, but I especially don’t share the view fans have that Asa’s downgrade in writing was at all a “meta commentary” from Fujimoto. I think it drags, has had borderline nothing to offer, and is completely stripped of the fast paced style, interesting panel compositions, and electrifying characters that made me fall in love with CSM in the first place. To me, it simply has nothing interesting currently. Every idea I was invested in was handled with an iota of care or simply not addressed at all, another reoccurring annoyance I have with it.

Thank you very much, but it’s just not for me! All the love to those who enjoy it, its brought a lot of new fans in which is great.
