I don't know where this one came from, but I headcanon that Bear Hugger is ABSOLUTELY the "Dad-Friend" of the WVBA, trying to keep everyone else alive. (I'd say "safe," but when folks as crazy as Aran Ryan exist in the WVBA, there's no such thing as "safe." Just "staying alive" at this point.)

BH is just a ray of sunshine and has great energy to be around and a lot of that comes from his upbringing. He also does a good job in trying to keep up with you. Like even if you haven’t spoken to him in like, years, he’ll remember you and tries to catch up in what you’ve been doing. Is also incredibly resourceful and helpful! Incredibly generous as well.

Your car battery died? He’s on his way! Need a ride home? He’s on it. Blood sugar’s low and you need something to eat? He carries snacks just for you! Some creep staring you down at the bar? He’s your temporary boyfriend for the time being and he’ll make sure you get home safe.

We all need a dad-friend like Bear Hugger <3

Piston Hondo: That thing where someone waves hi to you in public and you go to wave hi back only to realize that they were waving to the person behind you.

Bear Hugger: Probably tripped into the wall and making a hole in it.

Great Tiger: That moment where you’re talking shit about someone in a particular language and that person happen to know that language as well and understand you talking shit

I have the feeling that Bald Bull would be the best cook in the WVBA and listens to the other boxers and their problems. He’s just there cooking and you’d see Little Mac cry over his calculus homework lol

I’m weak over Little Mac crying over his homework, honestly I could also see Bald Bull helping him with it as well.

But aaaa yes, Bald Bull definitely knows how to make a meal. I’ve personally tried homemade Turkish food and it’s so good! I’ve tried my friends mom’s “cigarette bread”, (It’s called sigara boregi, cigarette bread is just what my friend personally calls it) which is kind of like a fried feta roll that’s thin.

I headcanon that Glass Joe, Bear Hugger, and Bald Bull are the best at cooking period, especially if they have company over I feel as if they go above and beyond to make sure you’re treated nice to some food :0

Hmmm, Bald Bull just seems like the type of person to just listen to you vent and internally he’s like really awkward with people.

This is me just going off on a mindless tangent so some of these may or may not make sense <3

Doc Louis: Honestly I would see Doc Louis as a recreational leader/fitness instructor at your local YMCA or community center. He's really down to earth and gives lots of encouragement.

Little Mac: Besides being a student (I personally headcanon him as being an exercise science major in uni), I just think he'll probably work at his local gym as a personal trainer.

Glass Joe: Joe gives me fine artist vibes! He would definitely work as an art gallery director or I could see him as an art dealer!

Von Kaiser: Besides being a boxing instructor, I definitely see him working as a postman/postal worker.

Disco Kid: A choreographer or a back up dancer for a musician/music artist.

King Hippo: The King of Hippo Island, duh!

Piston Honda: I don’t know why…But…A massage therapist. Just going off of vibes.

Bear Hugger: I could see him working with animals, maybe a vet tech?

Great Tiger: I could see him as a professor, I dunno what he would teach though.

Don Flamenco: Television personality of some kind—Maybe a weatherman? I think he has the looks and the charisma to pull it off!

Aran Ryan: Tattoo artist. Also—He’s absolutely covered in them.

Soda Popinski: This was hard. He’ll probably be working in the storage/transportation industry?

Bald Bull: I’m not sure, but definitely a career/job that doesn’t involve the public. Maybe just like a corporate office job of some kind. He still dislikes his coworkers.

Super Macho Man: Reality television personality/Adult Entertainment star! He’s on shows like Love Island, The Bachelor, and Survivor! He makes FANTASTIC television, really funny, really shady, I mean, cmon now, he IS the moment! And uh yeah, he may or may not have been in a couple of x-rated movies…

Mr. Sandman: Something chill and cozy, maybe streaming? I could see him streaming himself playing video games and interacting with the chat.

Apart from Sailor Moon, Hondo is also a big Nana fan. He owns the mangas and Vivienne Westwood jewelry. Including Shin's lighter and the armor ring that he wears regularly outside of the ring.

I like the idea of exploring how they all dress outside of the boxing ring. I can definitely see Hondo wearing “subtle” merch that doesn’t scream, “I’M A HUGE FAN OF THIS THING!”

Habitually sleepy/tired/drowsy. Looooves his naps. Whenever he’s traveling you can count on seeing him resting against his seat.

Hey Jojo, who your favorite boxer is and why? If you have a favorite...😶

Personally it’s a tie between King Hippo and The Bruisers.

For King Hippo however, it’s much more complicated and I have conflicted feelings as to exactly why I like him. Don’t get me wrong, he’s hilarious and adorable at times which feeds into why I like him but sometimes I only feel like I enjoy his character because there isn’t that much GOOD Pacific Islander representation in media. Maybe I’m projecting, but hey it’s a reason. I just want people to see us positively outside of TV tropes and stereotypes. ❤️

The Bruisers are my favorites mostly because I like imagining their dynamic and kind of created my own headcanon of their life and how they grew up. I’ve always liked them growing up.

I am also incredibly fond of Mr. Sandman! I like how his character shifts in between games and we last see him appear as the champion of the WVBA.
