A little look into Scarabella and Chat Noir's dynamic in my AU by redrawing a meme that's circulating around.

It's also accidentally a reference to the Mr. Pigeon chapter since the Lucky Charm Scarabella receives is a gun....

Marinette & Ice Noir!

I was trying to come up with an idea for what Marichat should be doing and immediately decided something 'Winter-y' / 'Christmas-y.'

Then the idea came to me for a Marichat ice skating date. Genius.

It's funny... I finished this all the way back in November when I first got my assignment because I was so excited to draw this. It's my first ML Secret Santa (plus Marichat😭😭..)

Thank you for the suggestion, but I've already planned for who gets those three miraculouses already.

I'm not changing the kwamis powers, but unlike the show, powers like the rooster or goat are used more often and in a way that actually helps the team. (Since they're technically very powerful but very nerfed in the series.)

Although now that I think about it, the goat miraculous doesn't allow the holder to create magical objects but I definitely changed that rule HAHA.

Also, it totally slipped my mind at first but, I've changed the detransformation rule:

Babies ages 1-4 should not even have a miraculous in the first place, but in the rare case they did it would probably affect them like how the aftermath of akumatization affects people in this AU. (Basically a really bad fever.)

Not that it would matter anyways because the baby probably wouldn't be able to muster up the words to use their powers, detransform, or transform in the first place. So, I would guess the time limit would be like 1 minute or they'd detransform immediately.

Kids in the 5-12 range it's slightly better, as the detransformation limit is 5 minutes and it wouldn't hurt them physically or mentally. But honestly you still can't do much in 5 minutes.

Teenagers 13-17, (which is how old most of the main holders are) have 10 minutes after using their power to detransform, but since they're not adults, still can't use their power multiple times.

(But one particular teenager this rule doesn't apply to since his whole thing is that he doesn't follow the rules.)

Adults (18+) are the same as the show; the kwami feeds off their energy so they don't need to detransform. (But the adult holders I've considered having feed their kwamis anyway.. except Hawkmoth..)

So what's the dynamic between Scarabella and Cat Noir like?

I'll try not to spoil too much of the plot (since it's in the process of being written..) but ranting about this au is so fun so expect this response to be a bit long.

Scarabella and Chat Noir have a platonic/siblings dynamic in this au.

Alya/Scarabella got her miraculous first and fought multiple villains before Adrien/Chat came into the picture.

Then Chat did eventually come into the picture, and their relationship started off very tense.

Chat; who just like in the canon series is a goofball, extremely impulsive, very charming and a bit full of himself.

While Scarabella, who has trained to the point of burnout, injury, and one time the brink of death is the total opposite.

She can joke and be charming at times, but she mostly overworks herself to take her role as a superhero very seriously and doesn't think of it as a fun little side thing to get away from her regular life (not anymore at least.)

So at times, it can be a bit rocky, with their personalities and motivations clashing; but no matter what happens, at the end of the day they're partners, whether that means in or out of the suit.

i had a stupid idea a couple days ago about a marichat thing

like adrien obviously hates being in his house so i think he would totally come over to marinettes as chat noir to chill

and eventually it would become a thing right? and he needs to feed plagg ofc, so he needs to detransform. so marinette makes a whole outfit and mask for chat so he can still stay with her and not be recognized.

anyway i drew the outfit

i want to make a mini comic on it but fashion class is beating me over the head with multiple sewing machines and rolls of fabric so i cant realistically do so right now

but i will one day i think

Hi, I'm new here, what your Scarabella au is about?

Hi there! Glad you have you :)

To summarize it, my au, Tales of Scarabella and Chat Noir is a rewrite/redesign of miraculous and a kwami swap au!

"Alya Césaire and Adrien Agreste are both regular, everyday students at Collège Françoise Dupont; but when the city of Paris needs them, they become the superhero duo Scarabella and Chat Noir. Helping one another not get their identities revealed, setting each other up with their respective crushes, while also avoiding the topic of why they hang out together so much, Alya and Adrien struggle to navigate their exhausting double lives."

Most of the characters have different miraculouses than canon and the plot revolves around the main four characters:

Ladybug!Alya Césaire, Cat!Adrien Agreste, Mouse!Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Bee!Nino Lahiffe

The characters, their personalities, the dynamics, plot and timeline are different than the actual show and it was originally just me having fun throwing hcs at the characters, but now it's a full blown AU!!

When I get the timeline and everything ready to the point of posting more, it'll be on Ao3 and I'll mostly post the art of it on here.

I do also post the art on my instagram if you're interested, since I'll most likely update about the au, plus you can watch my random stories (if you're so inclined)

I'm not sure how long it'll be, but so far I've planned at least 3 seasons (there's probably going to be more than that though!)
