this is just a thought, but-
we all know that the sun is associated with men and the moon with women, right? this is because the moon is said to be “dark and mysterious”, but isn’t this also related to the moon’s trajectory?
we are believed to be unpredictible and maybe rebellious, and so is the moon trajectory! even though nowadays it can be predicted due to modern technological advances, back when witchcraft has its origins it couldn’t. the time it comes up is not always the same and neither is in which direction can be first seen (north, south, etc.) or in which direction it will go.
it might have been obvious for some people but i thought about it for the first time just today: to relate the moon’s trajectory with the social belief about women.
isn’t that kind of sexist? social viewpoint is men’s and we adopt it and claim its truthfullness by even celebrating it with spells

🔮🧿 Low-Energy Cleansing and Warding for the Lazy Witch🧿🔮
Hang a horseshoe over your front door (bonus points for a one- or two-word spell engraved into it)
Salt or black salt over the entrances to your home
Bells on the door handles of entrances
A Himalayan pink salt candle holder
Incense
A sigil under your doormat
Enchanted wreaths
A mirror hung facing your front door (you can enchant this pretty quick too if you wanna)
Name your WiFi the beginning of a spell ward and make the password the end of it; anytime someone types in the password they recharge the ward
Put sigils on your fridge with magnets
Open your windows, especially if it’s raining
Hang a native-made dream catcher over your bed

♡ Salt ♡
Now there are different kinds of salt you can use in your craft, but that begs the question: what kind should I use? So I decided to create this post so you can refer it to, write this in your grimoire or BOS, for when you need to include salt in a spell but don’t know what kind to use.
Tumblr media
Table Salt
Table salt is the least expensive of all other salt, as well as the most basic. Typically table salt is used home cleansings and purification. It can also be used for protection circles. if it is the only kind you have, it can be used to replace other salts depending on the intent.
Tumblr media
Sea Salt
Sea salt is made by evaporting salt water, and thus contains minerals like potassium, iron, copper, silicon, and more. The lighter the salt, the lighter amount of minerals. Sea salt being related to the sea, is favored by those who prefer to use the sea/ocean in their magick. Sea salt is best for cleansing baths and purification. Primarily when it is emotional purification which needs to be done.
Tumblr media
Himalayan Pink Salt
Himalayan pink salt is known for it’s color, a lovely soft shade of pink. It is connected to Earth, and specifically great for astral projection and spirit work. When himalyan pink salt is out, it absorbs psychic energy however when burned/heated it releases that energy. This can be great for providing a boost for a spell, or your own power in general.
Tumblr media
Celtic Sea Salt
Celtic sea salt is known for being popularized in France, and has a light grey color in comparision to other salts. Due to the low amount of sodium in celtic sea salt, it considered to best for kitchen witchcraft.
Tumblr media
Black Salt
Black salt as known for it’s name is black, and can be created when salt is mixed with ash or by being mixed with cocount ash. When it is mixed with coconut ash, this allowed it to be edible, and thus used for kitchen witchcraft. However, when it is not edible it is best used for protection against negativity.

witch’s banishing salt bowl
Tumblr media
salt bowls, with some herb magick thrown in, are a potent method of ridding bad energy, harmful spirits or emotional hauntings from the home.
☾ the bowl
salt can damage porous materials like wood, so using a bowl made of glass, ceramic or metal is best. glass helps clarify and amplify magickal intention. ceramic embodies earth energy— robust, strong, and unwavering. metal of any type helps project magick to fill a space.
☾ the salt
regular table salt is a classic cleanser and protecter. other specialty salts can have additional magickal impact: sea salt, associated with the water element, relieves residual negative emotions, like sadness and anger. himalayan pink salt is associated with astral travel and can help dispel curses and hauntings. if you need some serious no-nonsense banishing, add powdered charcoal to any salt.
☾ banishing / cleansing herbs
basil, black peppercorns, cloves, cumin, fern, garlic, lemongrass, mullein, pine, st. john’s wort, thyme, yarrow
set your salt bowl in the center of your home for a day or two, until you feel that there is a discernible improvement of the home’s energy. repeat as needed.

here’s my take on himalayan pink salt: it tends to be listed as associated with love and friendship and positivity because it’s pink, but do you know why it is pink? because of the high iron content in it. iron, as in blood and rusted swords. think of it: blood salts. warding against fae tricksters, perhaps a blood substitute for some workings, an ingredient for binding oaths and for curses, a powerful but personal protector. strength, revenge, rawness. nothing wrong with the original associations, just a thought. i personally wouldn’t consider it as strong a purifier/energetic cleanser due to iron technically being an impurity

you can move a crystal with your energy
rub your hands against each other until you feel you gathered sufficient energy, then rub a rock between them and visualize your energy influencing the rock. afterwards put the crystal on the tip of your fingers and make “waves” with the hand that’s free “against” the crystal. visualize your energy pushing the crystal. it can sometimes work by just staring at it.
what colour do you sense your energy is?

i have a HUGE question: can i both believe in mystical explanations for things as well as science-based explanations? it seems contradictory to believe in both

OMG SUCH GENIUS AND EMPOWERING
Shitty witchy tips (or kinda)
This is probably the most random and shitty witchblr post you’ll ever see but I just felt like writing it all down and sharing some thoughts and tips about how simple and cheap witchcraft can be. So here it goes:
- First of all, fuck aesthetics. Nah, I’m kidding. If the aesthetics is important for you and makes you feel well then you should definitely work on it. What I actually mean is that you don’t need that perfect grimoire, that stunning altar, 10.000 crystals and shit to acknowledge yourself as being a witch. Also, not having money to buy any of that crap is totally okay. You’re still a witch. Don’t underestimate yourself based on materialistic parameters. Also, don’t think you’re futile if you DID buy all that crap, make a good use of it, you deserve it. The amount of material you have doesn’t define how good as a witch you can be.
- Stretch out. Yup. It’s really that simple. I don’t know about you but I really feel my body functions better and my energy flows spontaneously when I stretch myself out. HOWEVER, I’m still a fucking lazy witch, so I chose ONE yoga pose that actually made me feel stretched out and I do it everyday. You can choose whatever makes you feel more comfortable in your body and do it whenever you feel the need (feeling rusty, with energy stuck somewhere on your body etc).
- Light a candle. I fucking love candles. I mostly light them for no specific reason but you can also light one or more for your deity (or deities) if you work with any, it’s a simple and sweet way to show them love and thought respectfully. A single, cheap candle of any color is enough. True magick comes from within so you don’t really have to read the color correspondences every goddamn time you light a candle. In fact…
- STOP WORRYING TOO MUCH ABOUT CORRESPONDENCES!!! I mean, corresponding colors, herbs and shit can be an incredible boost for your spell if you’re casting any and if you would like to reinforce your intent, you can definitely check out the correspondences for every item you’ll use. But damn, stop obsessing over this. The most important thing is how you feel, how you can channel your energy and how clear your intent is. Focus on that first.
- Burn some incense. No, you don’t have to be casting a spell to light and burn that shit. You might just be there kinda feeling like you want to smell some cinnamon today. Then go and do it, bitch. Burn it. Smell it. Enjoy it. The fact that you’re giving yourself that pleasure is already a boost for your energies (isn’t that what magick is about?!). Stop saving your incenses for special occasions, treating yourself is special enough.
- Talk to your plants, if you’re a green witch. Tell them about your day. Ground and ask them about theirs. How are they feeling? Tell them how you feel. Treat them with some rain water, moon water, crystals. Name them if you feel that it will bond you even more. Let them know who you truly are: are you the clumsy witch that totally forgot to water them when you should have? apologize. Are you a busy witch that stays out all day? let them know you’re leaving. Show them respect, love and care and they’ll give it back to you.
- Experiment the Elements. Okay, this is a nice one. Do you even realize the presence of the Elements on your routine? Take some time to experience them while you’re aware. Feel the rain. Watch the fire. Feel the wind blowing. Step barefoot on the soil. There are so many things you can do and some will feel more empowering to you. Value those ones. Repeat them next week. Find where your bond with nature is stronger and explore that when practicing witchcraft.
- Go study you bitch. Studying is never enough. You’ll never know everything about witchcraft and the more you know, the more spontaneously magickal practice should come to you (OF COURSE practice is essential too). I can’t stop obsessing about studying the craft. Find out what exactly you are doing, why you are doing it, who did it before you and what can possibly influence what you’re doing. Books might be harder to find if you’re secretly a witch but the internet is full of knowledge and people with more experience than you (it’s also full of shit, be aware).
- Be grateful, I mean it. If you’re eating raw broccoli or if you’re eating mcdonalds, there is always energy there. It took energy for that to exist, it didn’t come from nowhere. The Elements are always present and you should not shame on people who don’t eat healthy as if their food is worthless. Be grateful that you get to eat and stop being a bitch feeling that you’re better because you ate that raw salad shit and the other witch (or non-witch) ate pizza. Whether it’s raw or processed, it’s food. Be grateful and actually thank the Universe for what you got.
Okay so this is basically what I got to say right now and if I feel like it I might add something later. I really hope these shitty tips can show how easy it is to practice the craft and how cheap it can be if you want to. I want to say I just sat down and wrote this and idk if it makes any sense and I probably forgot so much stuff that could go in there. But what I wanted to say is stop focusing on the material shit. True magick comes from within.
(Also, I’m sorry for any mistakes I might have committed. I’m learning as much as you and I might just change my mind in the process.)

Connecting with Trees
Tumblr media
Working with Trees
***Before working with trees, please be knowledgeable about them. There are toxic / poisonous trees that one should not touch or handle in any way. Start with widely-recognizable trees, such as pine or oak, if you are a novice.***
Trees have held special magical meanings in cultures around the world. They are gateways to working with Earth energy and Earth magic. Each type of tree has its own special meaning, so utilize a tree that resonates best with your intentions. Here are some ways to work with trees within your magical path:
🌳Learn about trees. Read books; do research online etc. Recognize and identify them by sight. Know their seeds, leaf shapes etc. Learn both the magical correspondences and the scientific / botanical facts about them.
🌳Visit a tree and offer water or a small gemstone at the roots to honor its spirit. Touch the tree and pray for its well-being. Then thank it for providing oxygen, food (if it has edible parts), a home for small creatures, and shade. Say goodbye and do not pick fresh leaves or twigs etc from it.
🌳Go forest bathing. (Safely) venture into a local forest or heavily-wooded park. Ask the trees to recharge you and fill you with restorative verdant energy. Observe the natural beauty, listen to the birds singing, breathe calmly...take it all in. Reverently walk through the area and thank the trees for the healing.
🌳Pray over a ribbon. Speak your wishes to it. Then ask a tree's permission to work with you. If you sense confirmation and acceptance, loosely tie the ribbon on a branch or twig to help bring your goals to fruition.
🌳Collect three small fallen twigs and pray over them. Whisper your intentions into them. Then stake them into the earth to help anchor the energy in the material world and to manifest your desires.
🌳Sit at the foot of a tree and meditate, daydream, read, or have a picnic. Thank the tree for its shade and company when done.
🌳Collect fallen acorns, pinecones, or seeds from the foot of a tree. Place them on your altar and utilize them in spells and rituals.
🌳Plant a small tree if you have the outdoor space. Speak kind words to the plant and tend to it with care as it grows.
🌳Work with a twig to use as a magic wand. Bless it and wash it with blessed water first. Kiss the wand when done consecrating it (do NOT handle toxic trees or place them near your mouth).
🌳Utilize a tree stump as an altar table. Pray over the damaged, fallen, or chopped tree stump (do NOT purposely chop down a tree for this...find a fallen one that you have encountered by happenstance). Ask the tree its permission to give it a second life as an altar table. Place gemstones upon it and bless it.
🌳Hold a twig upright in each hand. Cross your arms over your chest. Close your eyes and think of your goals, your dreams, or simply meditate. Imagine lines of energy flowing through the twigs, up into the sky and down towards the earth. Envision your success and happiness. Hold that space and feel empowered. When finished, place the twigs in the shape of an X on the ground.
🌳Be a protector of trees. Join a tree-planting group or environmental protection & preservation society. Donate to public botanical gardens etc. as well.
I hope that these suggestions are helpful!
