stupid little fetchen drabble while i work on something else that’s also fetchen related!!! i keep thinking about pre-dating drunk fetchen dynamic at a party so here u guys go!!!

gretchen can’t help but feel a little disoriented, what with the bass pumping all around her and the alcohol in her system practically coursing through her veins. the chatter of her classmates that surround her drill into her head as she takes another shot.

i miss karen. where’d she go?

and then she feels someone take her by her shoulders, leading her into a half-empty room. well, as empty as a room could be in the midst of a houseparty. she’s met with karen’s stupidly pretty, smiling face. it almost looks like she’s glowing.

“gretch!” karen yells over the music. “i needa tell you a secret!” karen’s smoothing her hair before she’s cupping gretchen’s face in her hands, her touch warmer than ever. she’s already giggling before she can say another word.

what’s she trying to say?

“gretch…i love you so much.” gretchen feels karen’s touch become just a little lighter. “like, i love you more than i love halloween; and-and butterflies; and fluffy, little dogs.” gretchen finds herself lost for words.

she loves me.

the second part of karen’s statement spills out of her, “and guess what! sometimes, i really, really wanna kiss you. like, on the lips.” karen seems to be unable to stop tittering. it takes a second for gretchen’s brain to catch up.

she wants to kiss me. wait, what?

“and y’know what else?” karen adds, “i wish i could date you. like, i love you but as way, way more than friends! like…i love you like how a boyfriend loves a girlfriend! but you don’t-” she’s tripping over her words as gretchen remains silent. “you don’t love me like that! and it kinda sucks really hard!”

gretchen opens her mouth to speak faster than she can think of a response but karen unknowingly cuts her off. “anyway! i’m gonna get another drink!” karen’s still smiling almost dreamily, her tongue between her teeth as she begins to walk away.

she wants to kiss me.

everything karen had just said hits gretchen like a truck. she takes karen’s hand before she can go any further.

i think i wanna kiss her.

so gretchen does. she’s unsure of where to put her hands or if she should even adjust them at all, terrified to make the wrong move. for once, she forces herself to make another bold choice, one that serves herself and nobody else. nobody else but karen.

she cups karen’s cheeks in her hands and steps a little bit closer- it’s all so much. the room is spinning around them both, although gretchen can’t tell if it’s the dizzying sensation of kissing her best friend after she’d basically told her she was in love with her or if it’s just the booze. maybe it’s because karen tastes so strongly of vodka.

they kiss until the need for air stabs at their chests and then they do it again and again and again. karen’s lips are soft and her arms are wrapped gently around gretchen in such a way that drives her insane. her own arms have moved down, now hooked around karen’s neck, wanting her even closer.

for the first time, gretchen’s stopped caring about the people around her and what they might think- what jason thinks. she’s kissing a girl who just so happens to be karen. karen just so happens to love her. this is the feeling she’s been needing, she’s sure of it.

when gretchen pulls away, struggling to catch her breath, she’s again met with karen’s stupidly pretty, smiling face.

god, she’s so pretty.

i think i love her too.

Janis and Damian headcanons?

Jumps up and down!!! Thank you!!!! < is thinking excessively about Janis and Damian

To note, I mix Barrett!Janis and Auli’i!Janis into a weird mix and Damian is whoever you want

Janis specific hcs:

• Autistic but doesn’t mask anymore, mostly out of spite. Also anger issues. And depression. And trauma.

• Go to coping mechanism is firstly punch a wall and regret it, then it’s do art.

• Her love language is physical touch. She loves to be physically close to people and just drapes herself over whoever’s closest.

• Speaks really good French but frequently doesn’t actually work in the class. She skips classes all the time because they’re just So Much.

• She gets headaches constantly. Whether it’s because she’s stressed of because she doesn’t drink water, that’s not something she’s willing to check.

• Her favourite food is burgers with everything on them.

• Janis’ mum dyes Janis’ hair whenever she’s having a really bad time. Janis struggles to do it herself, so it just becomes a Thing her mum does for her when she’s struggling and needs to change something. Her mum also taught her all the elaborate hair styles she does.

• Following from the above, in the movie musical specifically, I hc every cool hairstyle Cady had, Janis did for her.

Janis and Damian:

• Planned so much of their revenge at 3am on call with each other. Damian has a whiteboard in his room and they would just write the most batshit insane things they might do to get revenge and see what sticks in the morning. This is how they came up with calling Regina&Co “the plastics”.

• Have genuinely known each other forever.

Damian:

• Really good relationship with his mum, but not a very good relationship with his dad and doesn’t see him very often.

• Trans, came out mid-middle school and his mum was so supportive, absolute hype-woman when he chose his name.

• Gets super attached to people far too quickly and doesn’t really know how to deal with the rejection of when people don’t get the same level of attached back.

• Favourite food is pizza.

• Post-spring fling, ends up really good friends with Karen. They’ve always been sort to friends until Regina put a hard stop to it, but he just loves her vibes.

• He has ADHD!

I probably have more but this was getting so long but I am !!!!!! Also not to self promote but I have a Janis angst hurt/comfort fic on a03 [my a03 is Letalloursingingfollowhim] which has Janis and Damian!! Also sadness

More Cady hcs no one asked for 🥰

• First school assembly she goes to, she has such a bad sensory overload but doesn’t have the words to express what’s going on, all she can get is this is Bad and Wrong and BAD. So she leaves the assembly but some teacher tells her off for it, but she doesn’t know what shes done wrong and she’s crying and it feels like she’s going to explode.

(Bonus Ms Norberry hc is that she has a little corner in her room for her students when they’re overwhelmed because you’re telling me the Mathletes ARENT’T all autistic? She has so many neurodivergent students that she just gets it.)

• She needs routine and schedule to function like a person. When she becomes a plastic, her entire routine is thrown off and she’s not sleeping or eating enough or on time, and she’s masking so hard that she’s not expressing how much it’s hurting her, but it’s making everything so wrong. Plastic Cady simply does not function. She needs at least 6hrs of sleep and 3 meals a day to be a Person, but she is not getting that.

• Also, good relationship with food her whole life until she became a Plastic because she’d go to get her usual sort of food but there’d be a Voice in her head saying that’s not what Regina would eat. She’s mostly okay after the plastics era, but it was a weird time for her. Especially when her mom would cook food she loved and she’d automatically say no.

• Ice cream dates with Aaron 🥰 She loves waffle cones.

• Has a little stuffed lion that, in theory, she would take everywhere with her, but after approx. Two Days at high school, she realises that not a thing most 16 year olds do. She always has him on her bed and sleeps with him until she becomes a plastic and then she just puts him in a box and pretends it isn’t one of the most difficult things ever. He comes back out after Regina gets hit by a bus.

• Cady has a bunch of little mobile games on her phone, mostly maths related (credit to my friend Bre @/sexycornenthusiast).

• Plays coolmathgames . com frequently but only for the actual math games. When she realises it’s blocked on the school wifi because most students play the non-maths games, she feels actual blinding rage because it’s her FAVOURITE pass time and it’s not HER FAULT SHE HAS NO DATA LEFT AND NEEDS TO USE THE SCHOOL WIFI. (Thank you again to Bre).

Bonus Aaron hc

• Loves soup. So much soup. But this is because, while he’s neurotypical, post-Regina, he has really bad anxiety and it causes him a lot of sensory issues with strong tastes and textures, so he has to eat the most plain foods ever without completely freaking out. He’s also just so mediocre.
