VULNERABILITY

SiPNOSiS: a couple passes their normal night debating about their intimacy, finding out the deepest secret from the other.

He grabbed her waist, pulling her into a sweet deep kiss. She melted into him like an ice cream in summer, the sweet flavour of his making her smile. She licked his lip, asking for entrance, which he gladly permitted for. I have pulled her even closer, if possible. She rested her hand on his chest, toying with the hem of his pajamas, which was a bit stretched out from all the times she's done the same.

She sighed in the kiss, pulling apart slightly, completely forgetting how to breathe as their eyes connected intensely. They both seemed to want it. She kissed him again, this time more passionate. He quickly reciprocated, making satisfied sounds. She took this as permission to go further, pulling from the end of his shirt, wanting to take it off him.

"Hmpf... Wait..." He pulled aside, looking heavy-lidded into her eyes.

"What?" She expressed with a sigh. She couldn't take her gaze out of his lips, breathing heavily.

"Let's not... You know." Her eyebrows furrowed confused. He swallowed dry.

"Why not?" Her tone came out more aggressive than thought. His voice came out softly, contrasting hers.

"I don't want you forcing yourself to do anything." He caressed her waist slowly.

"But I really want to." Her voice was a soft plead. "Please." She whined. He shook his head.

"No." His tone was determined. "You won't be doing anything right now. Not like this."

"But, what do you even mean?" She looked confused as she thought of any reasons for this weird, to her, attitude. Silence was heard. "You don't want me, do ya?" A hint of vulnerability in her eyes, all different from her previous confident attitude.

"No, no, no... It's not that. I promise." He tried to rescue himself from the situation he put himself in.

"Then why?" She tried understanding every reason crossing her mind, but none seemed to make any sense. Her mind rambled and ran thirty thoughts per second, while more silence was made. She fully stepped away from his arms. He felt cold right away, regretting not saying yes.

"You know what? It's fine." But her tone showed the opposite of that. She wasn't trying to force him either, but he didn't give enough or a clear reason why. He just didn't want her? She walked away, from the room to the kitchen, preparing her dinner as she stayed there in the room. She felt hurt that he didn't come running after her. Maybe she was right, maybe he didn't want to actually be with her after all.

She spent her dinner and fifteen minutes more in there. Haven't looked at him once, haven't interacted, haven't even been in the same room. Right when she finished, she felt tired, wanting to go back to the room but thinking whether to talk to him about what just happened or not.

As soon as she walked through the bedroom door, her heart clenched with pain at the sight of him with his eyes closed, lips barely apart, seemingly asleep, with teardrop stains on his face. She wanted to wake him up, which she doubted for a while before shaking his shoulder.

"Hey..." She said with a soft and airy voice. He woke up slightly. She was sure he wasn't fully awake. He hummed, asking her to continue. "Come on, sit up. Let's talk." She caressed his hair, a big mistake that made him close his eyes. She stopped and tapped his shoulder twice. "Come on."

He sat on the pillow and rubbed his eyes like a baby, her heart melting at the sight. He looked down, he didn't want to face her, he felt ashamed of himself.

"What's going on?" Her voice was soft, airy falsetto, letting him trust her. She waited for him to respond, and watched as he stayed without facing her with his eyebrows furrowed.

"I don't want our first time to be something rushed, or of the moment... I want it special." He fidgeted with his hands, his fingers played with the fabric covering him, and he tightened his jaw.

"Love," She wasn't upset anymore. Her eyes showed affection as she softly spoke. "I know you're lying. Tell me what's really going on."

He tightened his fists, holding the fabric as if it would fade away, a breaking sound came out of his mouth, tears threatening to come out, on the edge of his eyes. "I'm... I'm afraid."

Her eyebrows furrowed. "Afraid of what?" She reached for his fists, unclenching them. Her thumb softly brushed against his skin.

A tear fell off his eye, looking at their hands. "Of..." He breathed in. "Of..." He breathed in again, his hands holding hers tight.

"Shh... It's okay." Even though she struggled, she caressed his tight hand, trying to calm him down. She shifted closer to him. "Anything it is, I will understand." She affirmed.

He tried regulating his breathing, which he does successfully, but his tears still came out in an unexpected rhythm. "I'm ashamed of myself. I don't want you to look at me and just fade away."

"Oh, love..." She quickly wrapped her arms around his shape. Her heart clenched in hurt at the thought of him not accepting himself, at his way of thinking she would go away. "I would never do that." His arms tightened the embrace. His mind eased at the essence of her shampoo. Having her close was the only thing that could make him calm down.

They let go after some seconds. "You know I love you, right? Nothing will ever change that." She said, caressing his cheek. He leaned to her hand.

"I know." He muttered. "I know." He stated with a clearer voice. He leaned to kiss her, softly. It quickly became something rushed, but he, again, pulled apart.

"I... I need time for this." He said, looking away with flushed cheeks. She smiled shyly at him.

"It's okay" She kissed his cheek and cupped it, her thumb caressing his face. "What do you want to eat?"
