The anti-myth literalism narrative is quickly spiraling into disregarding the myths entirely. Myths serve as the very foundation for 99.9% of myths - explain why Zeus is the King without mentioning the Titanomachy. Explain why Hermes and Apollo are associated with hawks - or why Hestia is a virgin goddess, or why Dionysus is associated with madness. Can you? Without a single reference to a myth? Myths are not reflections of the Gods, but a God with no myth gets forgotten. Please do not forget our gods.

btw you're allowed to be a fan of media that is derivative of your religion's myths. a derivative game or musical is not religious text, it's literally some rando (or a group of em) making a story inspired by myths. enjoy their stories like you'd enjoy any other.

you're also allowed to not be a fan of that kind of media. you're allowed to look at a character inspired by a god you worship and think "damn this shit is ass" because a good chunk of the time, it is!

It's incredibly hard to stay consistent in your practice when the days begin to blur together, just as it's difficult to maintain mortal relationships. But that doesn't make you any less devoted than the people that don't struggle with this. We are all doing our best, however it comes. The Gods know this. The Gods cared for you when you were fully present, knowing that there is this side as well. You cannot be a disappointment if expectations are accurate to begin with.
