I want to try so many little hobbies. Candle making, soap making, basket weaving, wood carving, book binding, baking, weaving, I want to try them all.

Finally got the shrug to fit together, just need to properly attach it to the dress. I didn't anticipate just how different the shoulders were to the sleeves, so I ended up just grabbing the sleeves and attaching them just under the shoulder. Where the two meshes had the most vertices in common. Cat's UV data merge is still infinitely helpful with this kind of thing. Makes the UV tedium so much more bareable.

I fucking hate that the general response to RFK Jr's eugenist take on autistic people is "autistic people do pay taxes, autistic people do work, autistic people do date!"

Some autistic people don't and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life. Some autistic people do need constant help and support and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life.

Once again we're falling in the right wing trap of :

They make a hateful, fascist statement

Instead of focusing on the fact that it is hateful and fascist we try to show them that they are factually wrong

We throw our own allies and the most vulnerable of us under the bus in the process

We legitimise an only slightly less hateful, fascist view as we go

They have completed their goal of making us accept the still hateful, fascist second version, hurrah. What a victory.

Right now what we're getting to with that is that autistic people who can work and pay taxes are okay, and the others aren't. Fuck this shit.

Same thing happens with the people who are being deported ("they have a visa!", "they didn't even have a criminal record!" -> even if they didn't have a visa, even if they did have a criminal record, deporting them and detaining them in what's essentially a concentration camp wouldn't be okay, you absolute tools of fascism.)

Got the UV for the dress done, and working on the texture before the cardigan version. I was debating painting in an extra wrinkle, but I dunno if it really needs it given how it looks currently.

Progress is going at a pretty good clip, and I'm already really happy with where this is at. Making and adding the cardigan to this will be super easy (knock on wood). I think I'll work on the cardigan next before making the other textures.

Putting off working on my final paper with UV work. So far gotten the dress UVs into one piece for this version of it. Just gotta straighten it out later, then I can work on creating the version with the cardigan.

FALLOUT 4:

"DEATH SHROUD" SERIES UPDATE!

Check out the AMAZING artwork tumblr artist @rad-roche did for our second installment in the Death Shroud! series. This story is titled, "The Cat's Paw", and will see an even BIGGER cast of voice actors returning to reprise their roles this May to benefit Wes Johnson's VoiceAPalooza charity drive for the Alzheimer's Association.

Please note that the voice cast list may change as more people confirm, so this is likely NOT the final art.

Sick hours working on this instead of sleeping. Eyes hurt so time for bed. I forgot how wonky the red hot dress' uv is. Why was it carved up into roughly six different pieces?

Really says something about the dire state of offerings for men interested in sewing their own clothes that even searching things like "interesting men's clothing patterns" brings up articles with links to four or five whole websites that primarily offer admittedly nice but practically identical patterns for making button-ups and work pants and maybe a varsity/bomber jacket if you're lucky.

(Branching out into historical costuming for everyday wear is like your one shot at variation, and even then, the ratio of men's to women's patterns on every website is frustrating to say the least.)

Patternmakers as a trans man I am begging you. Give me a little more to work with here.

what if you put the katy perry dress textures on the red sparkle dress mesh? or is that dumb?

It's not dumb at all dear non, and that's certainly an option! I was thinking of smoothing them out to make the dress be more accurate to Cameron Diaz's dress in The Mask since that's my current creation fixation.

Now then, to the mask dress. I've already picked out most of the parts, but now it's a matter of choosing which side split to work with. The red dress would be the most accurate, although I'd have to smooth out the texture to remove the sparkle. Alternatively there's going with the super tall thigh split that's off to the side, but I remember being an even bigger nightmare to work with.

Another hair from the dehat backlog, where the og hair never really got used for anything other than formal wear. I wanted to have a version of it without the headband, and set about to patching and fixing it up. Ended up fighting with the UV longer than anticipated, and it felt like wrangling a blanket at 3am.
