Oddly one of my favorite things in fanfiction is the author who has no idea what they're getting themselves into

I play ff7 and then ofc get dragged back into ff7-land on AO3 and there are all of these "fix-it" fics in ff7 fandom, like actually almost 600 with just the tag "fix-it" and that's not counting the various other ways that type of story can be tagged. Also tons of AU where xyz traumatic events don't happen and everyone is happy. Which are fun for the escapist side of my brain but annoying to the canon side of my brain. And now I have this solution in my head but I'm a crap writer so I'm making this someone else's problem. Maybe someone already wrote this? IDK I can't sort through 27 years of fanfiction. Long story short here's my prompt:

Can we get a time travel fix-it off of one of those "fixed" timelines? Like, we keep Sephiroth sane and Nibelheim never happens but also no one brings down Shinra or stops mako energy, so the planet and everything on it ends up dying anyway, at which point the planet or whatever says "nope that was NOT fixed," and punts someone/s back to do it again.

i was trying to make my friend a bday cake but the dye on the decorative icing started leaking and dripping everywhere so it accidentally became the most ominous and violent looking baked good ive ever seen…… i slapped on some sprinkles to try and make it less threatening looking. it worked a little bit.
