unnecessary rant about how i feel about the horse under the cut lol

oh boy...i've been dreading the equestrian club cards .......idk if this is an unpopular opinion but Vorpal in Riddle's robes groovy is SOOOO UGLY 😭😭 he has what i call Anime Horse Face syndrome where they make the eyes really human and anime-ish and it looks ridiculous (Attack on Titan did it a lot for example lol) -- that's why i'm terrified of Genshin Impact adding horses like they always look so bad to me 😭 also... i don't think i've ever seen a white horse with a pitch black mane. maybe a GREY with a very dark mane but. all white with a black mane is....hmmmmmm..... hurting my eyes

idk how i feel about the tack. personally double bridles are sooooo ugly to me like they just remind me of a mess of tangled electrical cords on the horse's face. and the dull shade on brown of the leather in the groovy art just looks dirty and old and cheap like the kind of bridles you use for little kids in lessons. it's weird how in the little battle sprite the leather tack is much darker, it looks much classier and nicer imo.

overall idk i guess im just very surprised Silver as a character rides with a double bridle and a martingale. the crop is to be expected i guess but the extra reins/martingale are things riders use to help CONTROL a horse. if you don't know, the martingale is the band connecting the bottom of the bridle to the strap around the chest to keep the horse from tossing their head too high. and the double bridle includes an extra pair of reins attached to an extra piece of the bit to have more control. i'm not here to debate the necessity of using harsh bits on horses because frankly i don't think any riding is "necessary" and if you NEED to use something that controls a horse through pain or fear then that horse probably doesn't want to be ridden. i feel so much better after quitting riding even though i rode for most of my life (Candy lore drop) because i just don't get the same high out of controlling a horse and making them bend to my will as so many other riders i knew did. That's why i think having Silver ride with that tack is strange. Charitably I can say maybe the twst artists just added as much tack as possible bc it sort of looks cool and professional and they didn't really research what kind of rider uses what equipment. But still it goes completely against what we know about him as a character. All animals love him and he can communicate with them. Why would HE need a different bit to get more leverage pulling at the horses mouth to control them better? Why would HE tie down his horse's head to their girth? I get it for Riddle and maybe even Sebek because sometimes at fancier institutions riders are just taught to brute force things which is what i would anticipate for Riddle as a rider, but Silver???? Couldn't he just ask the horse to cooperate with him? What made him decide to use the double bridle and martingale? what behavior was the horse exhibiting that he didn't like that made him do that? CANT HE TALK TO HORSES??? IM SO CONFUSED. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR HIS CHARACTER

Soft, dim lighting cast a warm glow over the space, enveloping everything in an air of intimacy and mystery. The gentle hum of conversation and laughter filled the air, mingling with the smooth melodies of jazz music drifting from hidden speakers.

Couples nestled into plush velvet booths, their faces illuminated by the soft light, lost in each other's eyes and whispers. Waiters moved gracefully between tables, delivering trays adorned with exotic beverages and plates of delectable meals, their steps silent against the plush carpeting.

But what caught your eye the most were the bouquets given to significant others, adorning the tables like precious jewels. Each one was a masterpiece in its own right, meticulously selected and arranged to convey the deepest sentiments of adoration.

Hi! I wanted to request a fic with Jade. Perhaps one where Yuu/The reader is starting to avoid Jade because their friends(the first years) have doubts about his intentions and whether he is sincere or not, seen as the tweels walking red flags. So Jade's partner wants to kind of break it off with him, because they are getting insecure and think that they're being played with and only seen as 'fun' for a short time which will get dropped later on when he gets bored, and Jade notices. How would he react and would he try to save his relationship and how? (Some other plot is fine too!)

Jade wasn’t oblivious. Far from it.

He noticed the hesitation in your step before you entered the Mostro Lounge now. The slight turn of your shoulder when he reached to brush his fingers along your back. How your laughter, once genuine, had become thin and polite. How your eyes darted to Ace and Deuce during lunch, searching them for silent confirmation whenever Jade spoke to you.

He didn’t need to ask. Jade could smell doubt. It clung to the edges of your words like brine on seaweed.

He smiled anyway. He always did.

But deep beneath that calm, gloved exterior, something ancient and sharp stirred in the deep currents of his heart.

The silence that followed felt too long. Like the sea had stilled.

“I see,” Jade said at last. “So the whispers have finally reached you.”

You blinked. “What—?”

“Ace. Deuce. Jack, Epel… Even Sebek. All fond of you in their own ways, but terribly uncreative. I could tell from the moment they started glaring harder during lunch.”

“…You knew?”

“I’m not blind, Prefect,” he said softly. “Nor am I so dull as to miss the shift in your gaze. I simply hoped you trusted me enough to ignore them.”

You opened your mouth, but nothing came out.

He stepped forward. Not looming—never looming—but near enough for you to smell that faint foresty tang of earth and old water.

“I won’t lie to you,” he continued. “There was a time when your presence did… amuse me. Your reactions were delightful. So quick to fluster. So stubborn when teased. But it didn’t take long for my curiosity to turn into affection.”

You looked away. “And what happens when that amusement fades?”

He said nothing. Just reached out—slow, careful—and gently touched your cheek with the back of his knuckles.

“When I enjoy something,” he said, “I cultivate it. Tend to it. Study it. Care for it so that it thrives. That is my nature. I have no intention of abandoning what I cherish.”

“Even if I’m just… ordinary?”

A beat of silence.

Then you stepped into him. Slowly. Carefully. Like testing the water again after nearly drowning.

Your hands found the fabric of his uniform jacket. His hands hovered above your back, uncertain, until you nodded—just once—and he held you.

You stayed there a long time. Just breathing.
