Why can’t we tag as kin? No pressure to answer, just curious

No worries I don't mind! And it's a chill answer lol (I've actually answered this 3 or 4 times over the life of this blog but I ended up deleting the response after a few months each time ghshfb)

I explicitly tell ppl not to bc I'm also a kinnie in the like. Actual sense of the term, not ppl misusing it when they mean a comfort character, or mood, or they just relate to a character in a regular way, etc (those are Not what the word meeeaaaaaannsss)

99.999% of the time the stuff I'm drawing n sharing is My Actual Kin Stuff ™️ (or adjacent) and I'm just presenting it as AU or OC stuff, and so it's a big Ick and crossing a boundary if I see anyone add a blatant kin tag or clearly kin-related tag when I put on each drawing "hey don't do that", because. No. That's not your kin stuff that is specifically and explicitly Mine lol :')

If there are ever drawings or posts where I don't mind kin tags or whatever, I'll have that in the caption instead so ppl know to go ahead!!! I think there's a few old posts that have that?🤔 It's extremely rare, though

That said, it's almost never a "no doubles" type thing. So if anyone ever wants to reach out to chat abt a source or whatnot then I'm down (as long as you're an adult)!✌🏻

What she really means: I don’t mind people disliking a ship for their own reason but the anti-shipping movement is driven by hate and bandwagon bullying to police what people are “allowed” to enjoy. They use fundamentally abusive and manipulative tactics on real people in the name of protecting survivors from speculative things in fiction. Antis want to act morally superior over ship wars and claim that to ship something problematic you must be a survivor. By doing this antis force survivors who may be uncomfortable with coming out with their status to out themselves and then hold them to impossible standards. Except when it does come to survivors who ship anti-deemed problematic things we are attacked, harassed, and then pushed under the bus anyway. Antis trivialize terms such as abuse, rape, and pedophilia by using them so often and out of place against a group made up of many survivors and minors– the people they claim to be protecting. They have bullied and suicide baited artists and other content creators they dislike in the name of “policing the bad ships uwu.” All antis are at fault for this, even if an anti claims not to send hate themselves they are still influencing this bad behavior because they are part of this hate group. The entire anti-shipper movement is a toxic cesspool that makes me feel sick.

I'm a SUCKER For tragedy and agony in stories but GOD i am so glad to know they have their happy ending, and there is something so compelling and just,,,,,,,GOOD,,,,about how much fucking work it was for them. Like. just because they were clearly so meant to be with each other didn't make it Easy or Perfect, it just meant that the suffering was fucking worth it bc they love each other🩵

I've never read an xmen comic in my life and only seen a handful of xmen-related movies, ans only watched the cartoons randomly if they happened to be on as a kid

someone I follow on the bird app just announced they're starting a very exclusive private fic server because they and a bunch of other people want to talk about how much they love the fics they're reading, and as an author can I just say that a really great place to talk about a fic you love is in the comments for that fic

I understand that people are trying to create safe spaces, but as the number of comments that I get on my fics dwindles with each passing year, knowing these spaces exist where my fics are being discussed, places that I am excluded from, makes me want to write fic LESS

I mean I guess who cares, right, because if I stop writing, there's 10,000 other people that will continue...but if you participate in a fic "book club" server and you say nice things there about a fic you loved, maybe copy and paste that into a comment on AO3?

the only thing fanfic writers are asking for in return for hours of hard work is attention. please don't rob us of the one thing that we hope for when we hit "post"
