”In a world where pixel art is so 2011, Quarter to Nine (At Night) is not afraid to bring you to a new high-tech low-fi rotoscoping polygon feast. This technique, rarely used in animation, was heavily featured in 1991′s video game Another World, and brought the genre to a new level of storytelling, building up to a subtle sense of loneliness.

The music video not only embraces this aesthetic and this feeling, but also the creative process, as both were made by only one person-  who survived the 90′s. This 6 minute fully animated video uses the music as a launching pad to take the spectator into a long spacey journey, from a slow paced beginning to an apocalyptic climax.”

Justice - New lands

Bandeau sur l'oeil, petite barbe et cheveux mi longs... un look tout à fait à la Snake Plisssken (Escape from New York, de John Carpenter). Un sport retrofuturiste entre Rollerball, Tron et The Running Man. Génériques de fin entre low poly et 8bit. Réalisé par le collectif espagnol CANADA, le clip est très riche en citations mais pas très nourri d'idées.

On s'affectionne à la petite aventure mystique d'un pauvre type low-poly, entre pyramides, portails extra-dimensionnels et contorsions hallucinatoires. Johnny Woods est un vrai maitre de la retrophanie. Son univers, bâti sur un mélange savant de téchnologie analogique et logiciels du présent (Maya et After effects) illustre à la perfection le morceau All you maybes de Zambri (duo éléctro de soeurs diaboliques dévouées aux synthés, chez Kanine Records).
