"I miss when movies weren't political-"

ALIEN is about a megacorporation coercing some salvagers into transporting a dangerous creature without telling them what it is, all because the creature could be a great bioweapon for them. When a survivor of this failed transport mission wants reparations, they screw her over to avoid a scandal.

ROBOCOP is about another mega-corporation experimenting with a cop's body and declaring him their property, trying to reduce him to an obedient killing machine who can maintain the status quo for them.

JURASSIC PARK is about a rich billionaire going all out to make a dinosaur-themed amusement park, not caring about the real-world implications of resurrecting giant lizards. He also underpays ONE guy to maintain the entire park's security systems so predictably, that one guy betrays him at a crucial moment.

The best movies weave their politics with plot & character, so you can enjoy them as entertainment but can also notice the themes. Movies without themes wind up being all spectacle and no substance, just noise and color like Michael Bay's Transformers franchise. Yeah, they make money, but they'll be forgotten in 2 generations.

There was this discussion on Steam under a thread, I kinda forgot where but there was this dude that said that he doesn't like that full black cast without any other races is bad. A person asked him if he thinks the same if it's all white and he said yes and says why he dislikes FF14.

Some dude mockingly asked why FF14 is their tagged game on Steam and another person remarked that an all white cast isn't woke.

There is no modern political precedence to make anything all white is what I believe the mindset that individual has had when making that statement because holy shit!

Being against an all black cast because it lacks diversity is okay but when the opposite is applied to an all white cast that's considered a stupid take and is worth taking a huge grain of salt over.

Interesting thing to explore in all honesty in the woke vs anti-woke discourse.

It just peeved me a bit but it do be like that.

Yeah, no, Anita Sarkeesian is a skeezy, manipulative, liar, one who is using feminism, feminist issues, and video games, to do two things and two things only; gain publicity for herself, and line her pockets with other peoples money. I dont believe for a moment that those are games she owns, let alone played, or if she did buy them, then she likely bought them using the money she earned through kickstarter, money she was “supposedly” using to make videos focusing on various issues, videos that were either never made, or not finished.

Everything about this lying, manipulative, hag, disgusts me, and I cant figure out for the life of me why anyone listens to a thing she has to say. To her supporters I say this; Wake up, shes lying to you, using you, and manipulating you. Do not trust her.

Fun fact, the Switch also has those souls like games so regardless they still need to git gud there. I myself play DMC 3 and yeah that games challenging but Dante is so fun. Dang.

Cuphead

I dont get all the bitching about the difficulty of games like Cuphead and Dark Souls. Sure, these games are frustratingly hard, but not every game is for casual players. Imagine if back in the 80’s folks had gone this nutty over shit like Ninja Gaiden. It’s just whiny bullshit tbh. Play a different fucking game if it’s too hard for you. Play Animal Crossing or fucking Splatoon. Buy a Switch or a WiiU. Let the MLG fucks have their git gud games. Play fucking COD or something. The world doesn’t revolve around you spoiled, crybaby dickheads.
