I had always thought I had to be perfect,

perfect to be seen,

perfect to be wanted,

perfect to be loved..

and I couldn’t make mistakes because if I did, they would leave..

you would leave.

but you’ve shown me that perfect doesn’t exist,

and mistakes can be made..

you’ve shown me that not only by never leaving me because of them -

but you shown me how it feels to love someone like me.

I keep replaying times in our story,

like our first kiss,

the nights you stayed and read poetry to me,

when you held me scared and anxious the night before my flight,

me confessing how much I liked you without realizing it,

the moment you told me you’d be leaving,

watching you walk away from me in the airport,

the first phone call in basic,

the 15 precious minutes I got every Sunday to hear your voice,

Seeing you graduate,

hearing you tell your mom to start planning a wedding soon,

the sleepless nights in the hotel,

the moment I felt your embrace after my flight,

our last embrace..

and everything in between…

and now,

holy shit, now, it’s all gone it’s all a memory,

we aren’t making anymore good ones,

we aren’t “we” anymore..

and every night I’ve begged the universe, and god, and every fucking god there is to just let it all be a joke,

let me have you, let me have my sweet angel boy back,

i fucking love you.

I would do anything for you and I would do anything to turn back time and stop it to just fucking be in your presence and sit and hold you,

and stare into your beautiful eyes,

to feel so fucking loved and safe again.

I hate it, I hate this fucking life, I hate how life got in the fucking way and I hate how I don’t want to do this without you

& quite frankly I don’t think I can.
