happy pride month! I wanted to draw something for it, I experimented with a bit of a more blocky/low poly art style, it was fun to work on.

I figured for the occasion it'd be a good idea to use the opportunity to explain more about my gender identity, as it's a label that's not widely known and I usually have to explain to people when they don't recognize the flag. The flag shown in the art is the neoboy flag, as soon as I heard about the label it felt right for me. (Plus it definitely helped the flag was my favorite colors. lol) As a transmasculine person, I never felt quite comfortable with the demiboy label, they're similar identities, however I feel neoboy is more specific to my identity. I always got the impression the demiboy label was used similarly to the genderfluid label, sometimes you feel more nonbinary, sometimes you feel more like a man. Even then, it also tends to be used to represent a blend between nonbinary and man. That sort of label never felt right for me. I never felt that I identified fully with being nonbinary, or fully with being a man. With the label of neoboy, it specifically mentions having a 'new' or unique connection to masculinity, feeling like a man, but not in the way that you wish you were a cis man. I feel like that label fits my identity well. If I had to pick a gender on the binary, I'd prefer to be aligned as masculine, I feel a much stronger connection to it, but like the label says, in a 'different' way. Ultimately my transition goals don't really change my body that much- The only forms of dysphoria I get are from my chest and my voice. That's all. I don't wish my hips or thighs looked more masculine, or that I had male genitals. I'm mostly okay with my body the way it is, but I still want to be more masculine. I think the best way I feel I can explain it is in the way people get gender envy for fictional characters.

I'll use KH3 Sora as an example here since it's the first fictional male character that came to mind that I do get some level of gender envy for.

When I say I wanna look like Sora, we can all understand that (usually) doesn't mean I want to look exactly like him, right? That I'm not asking for those saturated blue eyes, I'm not asking for his cartoony proportions and anime-style eyes. I can't speak for other people's experiences, but in my experience when I say I wanna look like someone like this, that doesn't mean I basically want to be transplanted into their in-game model, lol. It just means I want to look vaguely like him or close enough. It means I connect with the pieces of him that speak to my style and my transition goals. I like that he's able to have a long-ish hairstyle for a guy and a mullet while still noticably appearing masculine, his big baggy clothes speak to my personal style, and connect to the way I choose to present myself and my gender. Hell, some people may even perceive him wearing a necklace as a feminine style or a feminine trait, but you can still tell he's a guy! Those are the parts of him I label as 'gender' and want for myself. I want to be able to present myself with styles that could be viewed as androgynous or even feminine while still being recognizable as mostly masculine. Because I do identify with being a man and masculinity, but that doesn't mean I want to live in a male body. I'm okay with being born as a woman. Transitioning is a stressful process for probably every trans person, but I certainly wouldn't trade it for living in a male body. Once I do transition and do reach my transition goals and I'm able to present my gender in a way that makes me happy, that's what I want for myself. I don't want testosterone and its effects, (Besides voice changes from testosterone, but oh well. Voice training exists.) how people perceive my gender in terms of sex/physical changes likely does align more with a cis woman than a cis man, but the way I present my gender still aligns with being viewed as masculine, as a man. Not in a hyper-masculine-very-obviously-a-man-no-questions-asked kind of way, but just. A guy. In the way people see fictional characters like Sora. He has some traits people may question or view as feminine, and with him being a cartoon character, obviously his sex characteristics aren't going to be visible or amplified, so people aren't going to be paying attention to those. (Not to mention they probably shouldn't since he's a teenager, but that's a different conversation.) I guess the best way I can describe it feels like it's through fictional characters. I don't want to look like a cis man, I don't want to have any kind of facial hair or a bulge or anything else people would identify as typically '100% male traits.' I wanna be seen as a guy in the way cartoon characters are. Their art styles are vague/simplistic enough people can't look for those 'distinctly male traits' most of the time. A lot of fictional characters are younger, so most fictional men probably are going to be clean-shaven, and especially in animation they'll likely have some sort of baggy clothes to give them a more simplified figure, which takes away the opportunity for people to identify a 'male body.' But ultimately most people can still guess it's probably a guy. Even if it's vague or unclear and doesn't adhere to most societal standards for masculine features. If people see me and question if I'm a guy or not, I'm okay with that, in a non-binary sense, but I certainly don't want people to look at me and believe I'm a woman. Sorry for the long rambling. Maybe I could've made this more concise, but I think I'm happy letting myself ramble to make sure I get my point across. Hope this educated at least somebody about the complexities of gender and why someone would identify with a label like this one.

i'm still annoyed about the switch 2 prices and i was complaining about it to people and I think this sentence I gave is a perfect example of why it's so bad. It's ridiculous for a company playing it safe with their games to try and act as if their average, sometimes even below average, games are so great that they're worth the extremely high prices, because their games are just better than everyone else's so they're priced higher than anyone else's.

thinking about TOTK again and like, honestly? The memories being separated didn't even need to be a problem. The only problem with the memory cutscenes being in pieces is that there is an important order to follow. BOTW was fine putting the memory cutscenes this way because you were seeing disconnected pieces of his past, it was all for character development, not as much for the player to understand the story. But in TOTK the story very much does have a set order and the cutscenes will not make sense out of order. What makes it frustrating is this problem could've easily been solved. Why didn't they just make each dragon's tear show you a new memory in order. Not tying one specific memory to each location, but every time you get a new tear, you view the next memory in chronological order regardless of which location you're at. Accessing the dragon's tears doesn't let you view one specific memory tied to one specific location, but instead it gives you the ability to view 1 more cutscene in the chronological list.

Honestly so much of TOTK is frustrating because there's things that could've worked, but they were executed so poorly it becomes a problem. Mostly from a storytelling standpoint, I could ramble about that for ages, but still. I'm probably not the first person to make this observation but I figured it was interesting to point out there is a way it could've been done better, and somehow none of the devs thought of it, or they decided to make it bad and complicated on purpose.

hey, so I wouldn't normally make a post about this but honestly I'm just getting lost here and struggling to find a solution. Long story short I'm looking into my options for transitioning FTM, but I'm having a hard time getting details on certain aspects of testosterone I'm not sure if I'd want with my body but also can't seem to get details on if it's avoidable, or generally if it's just not as big of a deal as I fear. Does anyone know of any transmasc blogs or discord servers so I could talk to people with experience about this? If anyone's able to help, I appreciate it a lot.

so i couldn't find it again but a while ago i saw a post that said something along the lines of "draw miku if she was in your oc's world" and i thought that'd be fun so i worked on this for the last month or so!

i did have a lot of fun working on this :D honestly i'd probably do stuff like this again in the future if anyone has any requests for characters to do this with or something. It's a fun practice to work on my character design by adding unique aspects to a pre-existing design.

Boundaries stuff I guess.

I don't have much to say here, I'm pretty open when it comes to boundaries, the only thing that's really bothered me here is getting hate reblogs, if that happens I won't hesitate to block for it. Beyond that I'm fully comfortable with getting asks and stuff, if you want to ask me something or just interact with me at all don't hesitate! I might not be the best at talking to people but I do enjoy it, especially if it connects to topics I'm passionate about. as a side note, while I do try to check blogs of people I interact with in case it's a terf or whatever, sometimes you never know, so if I do reblog something from someone who's done something shitty don't hesitate to let me know with an ask or something because chances are I probably don't know.

coming back to tumblr after months to complain about switch 2's prices lol. It's just crazy, I've been saving money for a while and as much as I wasn't exactly excited about spending a ton of it on the Switch 2, I was initially intending to buy it at launch. Definitely not anymore. I've seen a couple posts of people justifying it by trying to say "this isn't new" or "it's just inflation" but I don't really think that makes it okay? Like no I don't think it is inflation, Nintendo barely got away with pricing Tears of the Kingdom at like 70$ at launch when its graphics were the same as the original game priced lower. It is a bit ridiculous they're raising the prices on a game of similar quality to the old one. Sure the Switch 2 games might have a bunch of new features and new characters, but does that really justify it? This might not seem too crazy when you compare their current prices to their other prices, but when you compare it to shit like steam game prices? When the Kingdom Hearts games go on sale I can buy a package of those games (including pretty much every recent version of every game in the series up until/before KH3-) Okay to put my rambling into more context here, I could buy like 5 playable Kingdom Hearts games, along with 3 cutscene-movies included in the package, all for around 70$- If I remember correctly the games go on sale for about 35-40$ each every few months or so, very often. The fact that an entire package of multiple games is price comparable- potentially even priced LOWER than 1 SINGULAR SWITCH 2 GAME is just absurd. Also, this isn't even including the fact that I could buy a physical copy of that same package of 5 games for like 20$ on the PS4. I don't really think there's any way to justify this pricing when there's so many games out there that are lower priced and more worth it. Like, off the top of my head, Ghost trick, Cuphead, and Hollow knight are around 20$ each on the nintendo switch, you could buy all 3 of those amazing games for 60$, the price of a nintendo switch game at launch, nearly 30$ LESS than a switch 2 game at launch. Nintendo games' pricing is kind of bullshit now and I really hope they get some sort of backlash for it and more people wait for these price tags to lower before buying, even if they only lower a little bit.

there's so many things i took issue with in the finale of arcane but mostly, two things. 1. that scene where Vi trapped Ambessa. she could've killed her then. like 90% of the finale and character deaths wouldn't have happened if Vi killed her when she had the chance, and NOT killing her feels SO out of character to me. 2. "breaking the cycle" doesn't hold very true when Jinx's redemption arc kid commits suicide and then a couple episodes later Jinx also commits suicide. (I like Isha but her death made her so underdeveloped in the end all I can see her as is a way to justify Jinx becoming a completely different character.) probably my last post on this bc those are my biggest issues, but god I have so so many issues with Jinx's suicide

why is the sonic movies one of the only things i've seen to get better with sequels. why does everything else get worse with sequels. why do writers do this to me, why do i get invested in something only for the writers to ruin it by the end. this sucks. can you tell i'm having a bad day.
