All at Once Everything is Different

The ticking of the grandfather clock thumps in Rapunzel ears, aligning with the quick beats of her heart. She sits with her arms hugging her legs to her chest. Rapunzel bites at the skin on her bottom lip, unblinking she watches the seconds tick away. Eugene lays soundly beside her, curled in blankets and snoring softly. Normally, the calm sounds of her husband would offer her some comfort, lull her back to sleep but not this time. Nothing could pull Rapunzel’s senses away from that clock.

I’ve been wanting to be more active again.

I do miss being in the fandom space, for all my interests.

I think my long ass hiatus should be coming to a close soon! I’m finally not so busy and I’ve been honing my craft lol. I don’t think I’m as much in my head as before.

Art it’s a messy skill and it doesn’t have a linear growing process. I think I’ve accepted that.

All at Once Everything is Different by @roygbivv - A Sketchbook Spread

Another day, another fanfic which stuck with me long enough for me to doodle something in my fanfic journal.

Today some a really short yet beautifully written fic!

This fic is super short and I feel like explaining it would take longer than actually going and read it!

It's really cute, features New Dream, the prose! My goodness, beautiful writing is one of my weaknesses and this does so much with so few words. It's absolutely amazing!

And the story behind the short one-shot is also a really good idea!

I'll just say, go read it if you haven't already.

So, the spread: There were really only two options, before the clock went midnight or after.

I went with before cause I wanted to try to capture Rapunzel's happy, impatient expression as she stared at the clock, Eugene peacefully sleeping beside her.

I spent quite a while thinking what to colour this in with before ultimately deciding to spend some time doing little black shading lines (I do not recall the name), and leaving it black and white because something about that just felt fitting for this cozy midnight chat.

The fic was a lot of fun to read, and this spread a lot of fun to draw.
