I dont like that all tech that speaks has a calming femme voice. I remember an age when technology made scary noises, it made beeps and wurrs, I liked the fear it put into me. Now I feel like I am being led into a false scene of security which is an entirely different and unwelcome fear.

I love how the Epilogue for Lights Out by Navessa Allen (**spoiler warning**) wasn't like all the other romance book tok epilogue. I find they all end with this "We have 5 kids and we still have lots of sex because we want lots of kids" and for me that always kinda kills the story. I always find that seems a little too propaganda-ish. Like thats the only reason for a relationship is for kids. Allen has Josh and Alley talk about having kids but the epilouge really hammers home the idea that their perfect ending isn't this hertonormitive have kids image it's the fact that they are together, happy, they get eachothers quirks. Nothing wrong with wanting/having kids I just don't like feeling like that is the reason for these relationships.

As I listened to Epic the musical I realized just how many trials that Odysseus faced had to do with him not cheating on his wife. It's hyperbole but it feels like half of what that man did was not cheat.

I’m watching Splash (1984) which is a romcom about a guy who falls in love with a mermaid, and when she chooses a human name she chooses Madison and guy says “that’s not a real name, but alright” which seems to imply that Madison was not a name until at least the 80’s and all girls named Madison are actually named after the mermaid. thought you should know
