Mini-Review: Okay so this was amazing as usual. I love Elizabeth Ferrars books, her writing is just… ugh, I love it. My reason for it not being 5 stars is because of the ending. Not the reveal of the whodunnit, that shocked me. No the romance subplot that was never followed through on. I feel cheated.

Mini-Review: Oh boy. This book was something else. So much happened in it and it was so awkwardly written. In the course of the first 12% of the book here's a quick summary of what happens: her parents die, we meet an angel, we have a cameo by the Grim Reaper, we meet bachelor #1 who ends up being the best guy for her to marry in the town but is actually giving her ultimatums, gaslighting and controlling her throughout the book. Not to mention that there are constant mentions throughout the book that women keep disappearing in the town. It's just all over the place and none of it flows properly. And the whole angel/Grim Reaper angle threw me off because I had no idea that there was going to be a paranormal/supernatural element to it. I know the series says Cowboys & Angels but I figured it meant Angels as in city women who don't belong in the Wild West. Whatever. I'm going to suffer through the rest of the series.

Mini-Review: I'm not entirely sure what to make of this. I didn't hate it, but the writing felt… all over the place in some ways. Or maybe it was just me, but there were a lot of plot twists that were explained in a passing sentence. Other than that and some of the more scandalous descriptions of sex or an autopsy, I did enjoy this. Numerous plot twists had me going: EXCUSE ME?!?!!?

Mini-Review: Okay so before anyone goes into this know that because of the times this is a very racist book. The whole thing is based around Chinese culture and includes a missing person, and Nancy and her friend George partake in yellow-face to try and throw people off by dressing George up as the missing Chinese girl, Chi Che Soong. I kept a tally marker for the racist things that happened and this book scored a 15. Would've finished it faster but I had to put it down for awhile because I needed a break. If it hadn't been for the racist stuff it would've been good, but unfortunately the racist part of the book is the majority of it.

Book Review: Justice Undercover - Connie Queen

Mini-Review: I didn't hate this as much as I've hated other LIS books, however a huge problem for me with this book is that the entire point is that she's undercover as a NANNY and the kids are constantly being ignored, pushed to the backburner or she ignores protecting them for true love but like, it's not even love yet, it's barely attraction. And the love story comes out of nowhere in that way too. They worry about each other a bit and then suddenly they're smooching. I'm giving it an extra star for the fact that we finally are getting over ageism in these books and Luke was in his 40s instead of 20s-30s like normal.

Mini-Review: This was… annoying. Very preachy, not enough Vikings and too much inaccuracies to how faith in God and prayer actually works. You don't just tell God you want to forgive something and it immediately disperses, it's a process. Also not enough pillaging for a Viking book.

Mini-Review: This was… wild. Got to finally read about Sonny Burch, Walton Goggins character in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), didn't realize he was a character originating in the comics. I was pleased the little amount of Rumiko in it, I'm not a big Rumiko fan. And I just want to know who thought it would be a good idea to make Tony Stark the Secretary of Defense.
