ok so I know that award show wins really have no impact on the rivals world in general, but listen........the personal character development ramifications of ghost winning best male vocal performance at mama??? my boy sangcheol really out here winning a significant award for his vocals (which he has always wanted to show!) ONLY A YEAR after debuting after waiting almost 15 years to promote as an artist in his own right after much personal hardship prevented it previously...........................a bitch mighta cried a little

“Ah, well...” Jenny paused, not knowing how to explain her situation with her parents without making the conversation a complete pity party, but kept the smile on her face, even though it turned a little awkward. “My folks were never totally stoked about the whole idol thing, so that’s pretty unlikely. I’m supposed to be dropping by to see them anyway, though, so it’s a bit pointless for them to come out to the festival, too, huh? I did send a few of my old friends some free tickets, though, so they might come out! It’d be nice to see them, if briefly.”

“sorry - i know it’s not really the answer you wanted, it’s just how it happened for me,” jenny apologised. “maybe...maybe the people who decide these things these days saw something in you as a trainee that made them pick you. or, crappy as it sounds, maybe they just based it on your family background, thinking it was the best bet on a publicity basis.” she paused, thinking, before eventually saying, “really, though, it doesn’t matter all that much. what matters is what you do with that position now youve been given it, and take it from me, nathan: you’re doing a good job.”

Seunghyun didn’t realize how widely he had broken out into a smile when he heard Jenny speak until she sat down across from him. “It’s fine, really,” he assured her, laughing softly at himself as he tried to tried to make his smile look a little less stupid, at least. All she had done was walked in and apologized for being late, and Seunghyun knew that was enough for him to feel like he was becoming an idiot just from being around her. Nearly six years apart really hadn’t made much of a difference on Seunghyun, he had found. Thankfully the two of them had finally started to become close again, and they were past awkwardly smiling at each other anytime they had to interact and leading people to assume that they for some reason had never been close in the first place, but Seunghyun knew that finally starting to close the distance they had let grow between them just made his feelings that much more obvious, at least to himself. He leaned back in his seat, running his hand over the leg of his jeans out of habit. “I got here only a few minutes ago,” he said honestly, not wanting her to have to feel apologetic just from being a little late. “I wasn’t waiting at all.” 

“Yeah, I guess KBS can’t guarantee that a day off from the tour will be completely free of promotions,” Seunghyun joked, looking back over at her as she shook her head slightly. “I definitely get that way with comebacks,” he agreed, “especially for comebacks that are just mine and not with the rest of the group. They always seem to spring up out of no where, and then end as quickly as the actual promotions started.”

A soft smile graced Jenny’s features as she watched Seunghyun grin and chuckle quitely, though she was oblivious to exactly why he appeared to be in such a good mood. She was simply pleased that he continued to enjoy her company, even after all this time not talking. “I know, but I felt bad,” she answered, frowning again the slightest amount, before returning to her natural smile. “I was like, this close to being really rude and pulling out my phone to text you and apologise in the middle of the interview,” Jenny said with a laugh, holding her finger and thumb a whisper apart as a demonstration to accompany her words. “Oh, so you were late, too?” Jenny quickly deduced from his words, raising an accusatory eyebrow at the man opposite her, though she was really only messing around, knowing he was probably only trying to not make her feel bad. He’d always had a habit of doing that, when she’d had to do something she didn’t want to that negatively affected him - even when that thing was sacrificing their time together. She pointed at him playfully, grinning. “I’m onto you, Bang Seunghyun.”

Jenny chuckled, agreeing with his words. “No, they definitely can’t. I get why they’re doing it, through - they’re putting extra content online for the fans who can’t make it, or who are coming to a later date. I wouldn’t know about solo comebacks, myself, but I get that, kind of. Even though we spend forever writing the release these days, and weeks preparing before comeback, it still seems to hit us like a train and go by just as fast as one, too. I shouldn’t complain, though, not after Mercury being on hiatus for so long. It was all really up in the air, for a while; I would’ve been excited for an interview to overrun. Oh, how things change, huh?”

okay so I’ve been pretty inactive recently bc of coursework deadlines and uni applications @ college (hardest rip) and I’ve realised my kids have so few threads AND also I’ve done so little that’s tour based so far, so like, like this post and I’ll drop you a starter/s from some of my kids? :)

“Ah, I’m glad you’re excited! It’s always wonderful to see people you love for the first time in a while, but performing in front of them and showing what you went away to do is even cooler. It was so fun when Mercury toured America back in, like, 2010, and all my old friends came out to see us.”
