I have feelings about Deltarune Sans

They sum up to. What an asshole huh.

(the way he brushed off Susie was MAJOR red flags I don't care what anyone says)

(and yeah I drew this on the interpretation/assumption that he didn't give much thought to anything except his feelings & wanting to go hang out with toriel so he left Papyrus completely in the dark on his whereabouts NOT TO MENTION ALL ALONE AT NIGHT WITH NO BEDTIME STORY)

Anyway sorry for hijacking your post it gave me an excuse to rant about Sans

I haven't seen anyone else draw mettatenna with box mettaton and if there's one thing I believe in it's that we need more box mettaton content so if no one else will do it then fine I'll do it myself

Okay just letting you guys know from now on I'm not going to add a page break before deltarune spoilers I'm just going to be tagging any applicable posts with 'deltarune' and 'deltarune spoilers'. I'd recommend blocking those tags if you haven't already!

I don't plan on making/posting a lot of deltarune stuff, but I very well may make some more so just letting you know so you don't get spoiled :)

DELTARUNE SPOILERS (kinda)

Toby converted me to soriel sorry guys (I'm (half) kidding but they are cute)

Genuinely though my personal take is that Soriel is super cute for Deltarune and Sansby is my fav for Undertale AND HERES WHY

In Undertale, Toriel and Asgore are OLD AS HELL. In the kindest way possible they've been around super long and seen so much. In my interpretation, Sans is like, 40? And Toriel is over 100. (He even calls her 'old lady', not that that means he can't like old ladies but still) That's still fine and shippable, for the record, and I don't have any gripes with people who ship it- I totally see it. But for me personally, I like to view her more as a mother figure to him & Papyrus (& everyone else really). Partly because I feel like non-romantic relationships don't get as much attention as they should so I project that onto Sans & Toriels relationship in Undertale and choose to interpret it differently.

I ship Sansby for shits and giggles tbh it started as a joke and then I got attached after seeing other people's fanart etc. I think it's a fun dynamic & could be plausible if you wanted to read into things

HOWEVER

In Deltarune, Toriel is aging at the same rate as the other monsters (because her son is alive, and if I'm remembering my Boss Monster lore correctly, that means she'll age as long as he does) so she's more on the same maturity level as Sans, in that she doesn't have literal decades of living over him. They're both middle aged people (I hc at least 40s, maybe 50s) just doing their best to keep their lives together & the people they love happy. They're at a much more similar place in their lives; they're both dealing with change (Sans moving to town, Toriel with the divorce and Asriel going to college) and they're both trying to keep a family afloat. It makes a lot of sense that they'd gravitate towards each other!

So yeah! I might draw more soriel in the future, but fear not my sansby lovers, those two aren't going anywhere either

EDIT:

I know literally no one is complaining about this but I did want to add that Soriel is NOT a perfect ship in DR either- the way that they're acting is super irresponsible for the actual situation that they're in (Toriel your child has been missing all night are you not concerned? & Sans being so dismissive of Susie is a red flag) I won't do a whole rant here but know that I am acknowledging that as cute as this scene is on a surface level the deeper implications kinda aren't great
