Moceit #2 / Day 1
I’m back! And I’m gonna try my best to do @tsshipmonth2020‘s Soulmate September (might be a few days late but whatever, I’ll stretch this into October if I need to sldfjslkdj)
Prompt: Your Soulmate’s name is written on your wrist or palm.
Taglist: @dramaticsnakes
Patton’s soulmark is on his wrist. Janus’ soulmark is on his hand
When Patton was younger, he was super proud to wear his soulmark
In one of Patton’s classes, there was a girl named Janice and he was super excited. His soulmate was in his class! He was thrilled! But also somewhat disappointed? It didn’t feel right to him but he just assumed that it was because they didn’t know each other yet.
He looked up the misspelling of her name and no articles really came up on it. The most he could find was an online forum that didn’t get any responses. Patton tried to shrug it off but he never forgot.
He tried to have conversations with her before the bell rang but she didn’t really seem that social. And after a few days of failed attempts, he decided to just show her the soulmark.
The girl was also thrilled! She didn’t show him her soulmark but Patton didn’t really care.
So they dated for a month or two. They didn’t have too many similar interests and their personalities didn’t click perfectly but they functioned just fine.
That was until the girl invited Patton to her house. Everything was going smoothly. They talked, played some video games, and ate some lunch. But at one point Patton saw her wrist and how it didn’t have his name on it
He felt really heartbroken about it and he tried to hide how upset he was but the girl picked up on it.
They had a long talk, but in the end, they were better off as friends.
Patton pretty much covers up his wrists all the time because it just felt awkward after that first encounter.
Janus’ parents were against showing the world who your soulmate was, so he always ended up wearing gloves. He got some teasing for it at school, but he always shrugged it off.
One year, Patton decides to join debate club. He wanted to chat with some new people and he was down to try something new.
Janus had already been in the debate club a year before Patton.
The teacher ends up assigning them as debate partners for a certain topic.
Upon learning each other’s names, they had a first gut reaction but blamed it on how common the names were. They never tell each other about their soulmarks.
They chat in class and they quickly find that they don’t like each other.
Patton honestly despised Janus’ bitterness. Sure, he could understand sarcasm- but the guy was just rude sometimes! And Janus could easily talk Patton around in circles for their debates, throwing subtle compliments that completely threw him off his game.
Janus didn’t understand Patton. His morals, the way he talked, even how he debated. All of it was absurd yet intriguing.
So they keep on debating with each other. Sometimes for pride, but most were filled with utter spite.
One day after an altruism debate, they have to cut it short due to the club only being able to run for so long. Janus invites Patton for a coffee and he agrees.
That’s how it continued from there. Long debates followed with a coffee and a closer. The two boys found out a lot about each other. Most were surface-level- favorite animal, general interests, friends, but they eventually learned that both of them had a disinterest in the romanization of soulmates.
Patton’s previous experience painted soulmates in a bad light. Janus was raised around people who thought soulmates were inherently bad and subconsciously held the same opinion.
A few months go by and they know each other pretty well. They would be hesitant towards saying best friends but both would welcome the term.
One day they’re back in their coffee shop and someone bumps into Janus spilling some hot coffee on his glove.
Janus is a cursing mess and Patton gets some paper towels and cold water for him.
It ends up with Janus taking off his glove for the cold relief instead. While he does this Patton sees his soulmark.
He’s in shock- Janus- he couldn’t be his soulmate? Right? I mean they did drift together pretty often, but they were so different?
Most of the day at the coffee shop goes pretty normally after that.
Patton really wants to tell Janus what he saw but he is still processing it himself. They walk home together, start to say their goodbyes and Patton just blurts out “You might be my soulmate.”
Janus laughs it off as some kind of joke, but seeing Patton with his ears up to his shoulders, playing with his sleeves told him otherwise.
J: “Pff, sure Pat- wait- are you serious?”
Patton told Janus about how he saw his soulmark earlier that day but he didn’t want to bring it up right at that moment and shortly after he rolled up his own sleeve to show Janus what he meant.
Janus really doesn’t know what to say. He’s speechless.
Patton thinks Janus is trying to figure out how to reject him. How to make it painless. How to get out of being Patton’s boyfriend- did he even want to be friends anymore?
Patton’s voice cracked “I..”
Janus was trapped in his fortress of thoughts but he knew Patton was waiting for an answer.
J: “Yes…”
P: “Yes? Like- do you want to be together- as in dating together? It’s fine if you don’t want to- I mean I wouldn’t exactly date me either.”
Patton’s cut off by Janus kissing him.
J: “Absolutely.”

Writer!Sides
Alright, I’ve only seen these kinds of posts a few times, but even when I see them, they’re always Virgil. (Virgil is super cool I just wanna see the other sides too.) So here we go!
Logan
Quick thoughts/Aesthetic
Coffee shops and libraries
Dark blue notebook
Running out of ink
Quiet typing of keys
Actual writing stuff
I’d usually feel compelled to say realistic fiction- but I feel like he could write a really good sci-fi book. He’d plan out the settings, the slang words, and many of the characters.
Person: How’s your writing going?
Logan: It’s going spectacularly, I made a map of their world yesterday! I still need to finish their neighboring city and some of the government’s regulations but that should be finished by tonight.
Person: Nice! What’s your word count?
Logan: Well, you see-
He’s dabbled in realistic history but he doesn’t really care for it too much.
He’s collabed with Roman many times for his book. Sometimes it’s for a fresh idea and sometimes Lo just needs a little bit of validation.
Speaking of Roman
Quick thoughts
Quick typing in the early morning as he jots down his newest idea
*sees a pretty notebook at the store* You already have enough, you already have enough, you already- *buys it*
Tiny notebook he always keeps on him in case he needs it
Writing goes brrrr
Although he’s helped Logan many times, Roman just feels like it’s hard to write a proper book.
The commitment to one storyline? No thank you, how about a few dozen wips
He mainly writes fanfiction.
80k enemies to friends to lovers? He’s got you.
He’s not the most popular blog in the community but he does have a decent following.
Every now and then he gets some hate but Virgil tries to help him not dwell on it for too long. Sometimes he directly helps, and sometimes Roman gets a distraction.
He lives for those typing sprints.
(There’s still more! I just cut it for length reasons.)
Virgil
Quick thoughts
Late-night writing
Writing on his arm if he gets an idea
“I swear I hate writing so much” *continues writing*
Making aesthetic posts for his characters
Coherent thoughts
He doesn’t really like sharing his work.
The anxiety from knowing someone is reading over your work but also knowing that they’re judging it is the worst
The first person he shows his book to is Patton.
He draws art of some scenes to help him get a consistent picture of it.
He totally doesn’t draw as a way of procrastinating
He goes on late night drives to help plan out the storyline.
He always stops at 7/11 for some snacks. The person at the counter now recognizes him. Virgil has chosen to go to a new gas station for now on.
Patton
Quick thoughts
*projects onto character* *projects onto character* *projects-
Taking personality quizzes for his characters
Almost every character has a pet
He has planned out the pet’s favorite food and personality but not the side character’s backstory.
Brain dump
He has some characters based on his friends but he’ll never reveal who’s who.
The others have a group chat to try to decide.
When his friends aren’t feeling well he’ll write a fluffy fanfic of their favorite ship.
He usually doesn’t dabble in fandoms but sometimes it really helps him out of a writing block. Plus, he can get some instant feedback.
He wishes he could listen to some happy piano or background music but it always distracts him from writing.
Misc. stuff
Almost all of them met at their local book club.
They all just drifted together and decided to make their own meetings and group chats. They also have writing sessions together.
When they have big group writing sessions; Patton brings snacks, Logan brings drinks, Roman and Virgil bring blankets
They originally made their group chat so if one of them knew a meeting was canceled then all of them would, but small talk slowly turned into conversations.
“Why aren’t Janus and Remus here?”
I didn’t have any original ideas for them. But y’all are 100% welcome to add them.

Friendship Bracelets
Patton really enjoys making friendship bracelets. It’s calming, not too difficult, and they look really pretty. He gives at least one to everybody in a way to show that he cares.
Patton wanted to try some new designs out for Janus and asked Roman for some help. But it doesn’t take Roman too long to figure out who it was for. The color scheme, the brainstorming- Patton couldn’t have been more obvious.
Roman does help Patton out and he definitely teases Patton the whole time.
Patton made a few bracelets for Janus. A lot of them are just black intertwined with a glittery yellow but Patton made a snake bracelet for him too.
Janus would like to say he wasn’t surprised to get one but he can’t exactly lie to himself. The main gifts he’s gotten were from Remus- and a friendship bracelet certainly wasn’t something the duke made.
Janus’ sleeves tend to cover up his bracelet but whenever Patton sees that he’s wearing it, he gets really happy.
Janus makes Patton a frog bracelet.
Patton wears it every day.
Cooking
Patton is usually the one to make food around the house. He always prided himself on being the parental figure and just ended up cooking for the other sides. Every now and then the other sides would help too- but most of the time it was just Patton.
At least that was the case before Janus started socializing with the light sides more often. It started out with him claiming he was adding poison to the food to overrule them all- but Patton knew that they weren’t in any risk and gladly let him help.
Janus used to cook for Remus and Virgil and he’d say he’s decent at it. Janus chalked up his ability to cook well to being self-preservation and needing food to survive but he never bothered to go into the details about it.
The two sides make cooking fun for the both of them. Sometimes they’ll passively debate morals and sometimes they’ll talk about how they’re doing.
If Patton even somewhat shows he isn’t having a good mental health day, Janus immediately offers to take on some chores around the house.
Patton insists that Janus doesn’t have to but Janus always retorts that he wants to.
Stuffed animals
Janus really likes the texture of stuffed animals. He has quite a few that he can just rub on his face when he needs to relax.
When Janus finds out that Patton also loves stuffed animals he brings some to Patton’s room for a sleepover.
Both of them have stuffed animals during movie nights.

Logan as the barista
Logan has a job to help with student debt, plus it’s been shown that he’ll have more of a chance to get hired in the future. The job can be a pain from time to time but he likes the general order of it. A group of teenage girls before and after school, business people on a coffee break and college students prepping for the long haul. Virgil was the most noticeable out of the latter due to how often he appears there for late nights.
Virgil’s a college student who’s trying to get by. He doesn’t need all A’s or to be popular, he just needs to get his diploma and get out of there. He isn’t social by far, but seeing Logan in there everyday made him curious about the barista. It started with small talk, how the other’s day was and if the other had plans. But after several months it turned into keeping the other in loop of their life.
One day, Logan isn’t at work and Virgil finds himself worried. (What if Logan got fired? What if Logan was just tired of seeing Virgil?) But it’s all settled out when Logan reveals a week later that he was sick.
Logan finds it sweet that Virgil cared, and to help with possible future dilemmas they exchange numbers.
Virgil as the barista
Virgil’s working at the coffee shop just for some quick money. He didn’t think it would be too tough; he knew annoying customers existed, but they were just exaggerated right?
He was very wrong.
On a busy day, Logan recognizes the barista getting, very loudly, yelled at by a middle-aged woman. Logan steps in- if we was going to drink his coffee, he was going to do it in peace. He politely talked to the woman, and after realizing that she was running circles in her argument he ordered her outside of the establishment. She somehow believed Logan was the manager (the guy wears a tie) and the woman promised to give them a bad yelp review and angrily stormed out.
Virgil was shocked that Logan did that, and promised him a coffee on the house. Logan politely declined but Virgil insisted on doing something. Logan wasn’t one to accept gifts so he decided on a date meeting to get to know each other. It was only out of curiosity, Logan didn’t like him. Virgil knew the man was stubborn and agreed to meet up later on in the week.
First dates
They go to a coffee shop
They head to a book store. Virgil is a literature major and Logan enjoys reading- it seemed perfect. They walked along the shelves, asking questions, picking up interesting books, and a few laughs here and there. At the end, both of them surprisingly enjoyed the time spent together. They didn’t exchange numbers because they both knew that they’d both be at the coffee shop the next day.
They go on a walk. Maybe it’s on one of their work breaks or maybe it was planned before hand. Either way, the two find it pretty nice.
Logan really like plants and he points some out while they walk. Virgil finds it cute cool about how much he knows. Virgil asks if Logan could teach him some time and Logan is a little shocked. Whenever he talked about plants people either casually made fun of him or tried to change the subject. Needless to say, Logan agrees and he ends up teaching Virgil about classification and some different types.
Virgil finds out he also really likes plants. They become plant buddies.
After seeing how much they liked the first walk, they decide to go on them more in the future. They talk about their most recent interests, how their day was, and giving advice if needed.

Stargazing
Virgil finds it so relaxing to hear Logan talk about the stars. He’s even fallen asleep to it a few times.
But they’ll talk about whatever comes to mind. Sometimes it’ll be relevant to what happened that week or it’ll sometimes be random. Virgil will ask about hypotheticals- not ones about the end of the world, but about random knowledge. It always takes Logan a second to answer but he’ll respond as truthfully as possible.
Art
Virgil’s always liked abstract art, there’s not exactly a way to do it wrong. You could scribble on a canvas with a dash of paint and some people would pay millions. But Virgil’s never been that way about it. It’s a precise art to him. Color scheme, overall mood, and even a message will most likely be thought out before Virgil starts. (He can’t help being a perfectionist.)
But Logan will help him get started. Sometimes Logan will draw some assorted scribbles that can’t be erased or simply helping eliminate other options for him.
Logan has always been a fan of realism. Sure- that might be expected but it’s exact and real. With enough time, he could look at some image and replicate it with some artistic choices.
But Logan’s never been interested in art. He’s been told he’s good at it, but he can only pick out the flaws a majority of the time.
Virgil still can’t believe how good he is and gives him some compliments every time.

Podcasts
Both Logan and Remus love podcasts. Logan can listen to them while he works. Remus can listen to them while doing other mindless activities. Logan usually listens to educational ones and mystery. But Remus can’t stand listening to them for long. They’re so long and they’re so detailed that he always spaces out. Remus really enjoys podcasts about true crime though.
When Remus was scrolling through podcasts. (He totally wasn't trying to find the weirdest ones to show Logan.) He found a DnD podcast. He normally would've scrolled past but it was marked explicit and he immediately found interest. He “made” Logan listen along with him and the two enjoyed it.
Logan adored the world-building and how the players interacted with it.
On the other hand, Remus, enjoyed the players' conversations and the crazy adventures. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy a good story that has a decent enough of (tame) violence?
The two make it their ritual during certain times of the day to go to the other’s room and listen together. Logan might bring his laptop, and Remus might bring his newest creation.
Due to their shared knowledge of the podcast, they’ll sometimes ask questions about it out of the blue.
Remus: “Hey, dork. I’m gonna show Patton that dragon podcast.”
Logan: “Alright” *pause of understanding* “Wait, Remus, no!”
Movie nights
Logan and Remus’ movie nights are a little more unique than the other sides. They’ll have nights where they’ll watch movies about space or nature. But they’ll also have nights for Remus with horror movies and dark plots. Most commonly, they’ll settle on psychological horrors.
One day when watching a horror movie, Logan starts getting scared (wow a shocker). He tries his best to shove it down. Besides, it’s not real, he shouldn’t be scared anyway. But when the movie ends he doesn’t want to leave Remus for the night. He almost makes a comment on it but he knows how much Remus loves those movies so he tries to let it slide. One sleepless night later, Logan stacks up on coffee, claiming to drink a lower amount than what he’s had for that day. Being sleep-deprived doesn’t help him remember the amounts he says and he inevitably slips up. Remus puts some dots together, but he wants to hear it from Logan.
They talk about movie restrictions for the future. They end up deciding that they can watch horror movies, but only if it’s earlier in the day.
When they watch educational movies, Remus can’t pay attention. He tries to, but he’s only reminded of those days in high school, boring and useless. Logan eventually notices how Remus’ fidgets have increased and he asks for the reason. When Remus talks, he’s honest with his words. But he also makes sure Logan understands that it’s not the logical side that’s boring him.
Logan understands and finds a compromise. He gets assorted puzzles for Remus and through the process of elimination, finds his favorites. They also end up going on stretch breaks together.
(Oops I wrote a bunch of angst. For length reasons it’s under cut)
Not being listened to
It’s common for Remus to be ignored on and off-camera. He just wants to share his ideas, he can’t help that they’re considered “bad”. Of course, Remus will try anything to get a sliver of attention from the other sides. He’s tried being louder, quieter, always being present, and not rising up at all- yet none of it works.
Logan notices early on. It wasn’t a difficult observation to make- especially when he’s been ignored before too. He decides to bring it up afterward. Remus was honestly surprised to hear that Logan was paying attention. But he’s not dissatisfied in the slightest. He’s hesitant about asking if he can talk about it- he doesn’t need another person leaving him- but Logan agrees. Remus’ eyes light up and he talks quietly without moving around at first. He stops his leg from bouncing when he notices it and tries to limit how much he talks with his hands. But soon enough, he’s flapping his hands and can barely stay still about one of his favorite things. Logan asks him questions to keep him going, and while he can’t change how the sides think, he can give Remus a space to dump his thoughts.
Logic is necessary for basic problem solving and thinking. But is Logan necessary? With Janus being added to the team, Logan finds that Deceit can make the same points he can but better. Logan tells himself how it’s only because of Janus’ emotional intelligence and how he can use moral arguments too. But it still hurts Logan’s heart to see him work so well with the others. He’s happy for him, sure, but Logan wishes he could do that too. Logan comes to the conclusion that he doesn’t need to rise up anymore. He’s been skipped as a text box and impersonated through one too. He wouldn’t be surprised if the others never knew he was missing.
Remus noticed. He’d like to say it was sooner but no one else had bothered to point it out. Remus knew they cared, but going from dilemma to dilemma didn’t exactly hold out some time for role call. But after a few times of Janus handling him instead of Logan, he went to the logical side’s room. He walked in, not expecting much, only to find Logan curled up on his bed, eyes red from crying. It shocked Remus- he’s never been the one for emotional comfort but today was going to be an exception.

Cuddle sessions
Every Friday the three sides will meet up and decide how to spend the night. Sometimes it’s watching movies while cuddling. While other nights they'll chat about whatever is on their mind.
Patton can always go in for a hug, no matter what. So of course he isn’t going to deny a cuddle session with his boyfriends.
Roman prefers to move at a fast pace throughout the day. (Sitting still? Once in a blue moon.) Although cuddling time is nice for him to slow down, he’ll sometimes need to keep his mind busy. Coloring books, music, even small puzzles can help. But bringing a coloring book to bed and snapping a colored pencil in his sleep isn’t ideal. Instead, he’s transitioned to playing with his boyfriends’ hair.
Patton always giggles in the middle of it. He can’t control it but Roman loves him for it anyway.
Janus will find Roman’s hand and squeeze it gently. He doesn’t trust his words, but Roman silently understands and squeezes his hand back.
Being cast away as a “dark” side during Thomas’ developmental period had a few impacts on Janus. One of the impacts was the lack of hugs. (Other than Remus, but the two rarely hugged. It wasn’t in their nature.) He still gets surprised by a pat on the back or accidentally brushing arms while walking by. Although when Janus is being held by Patton and Roman, he’s not going back to the way it was before. It’s so nice and warm to have someone touch his scales or run their fingers through his hair.
They can’t go into movies without cuddling. It’ll start off with holding hands but it quickly goes downhill from there.
Bonus: Virgil can’t remember how many times he’s found them in their own cuddle pile hours after a movie ended. Of course, he doesn’t wake them. He still (platonically) loves seeing them so happy.
(There’s still more. Just wanted to cut it for length reasons.)
Acting
Roman loves acting out scenes with Janus. They both have an astonishing love for acting. Sometimes it’ll be a musical Roman was working on. Or a sword fighting-move Janus recently learned.
Patton doesn’t quite feel like he belongs when his boyfriends act. He loves seeing how happy they get- but Patton isn’t used to being dramatic and bold like the other two. He makes sure to try his best though. Whether it be watching videos about body language or making facial expressions in the mirror. It may not be the quickest way of learning- but Patton is willing to do it for them.
Although the sides can shapeshift to look like different people, they still prefer to stay in their normal forms and just wear costumes and makeup. It feels real and it’s totally not because they just love seeing each other.
Music
Spending so much time alone, Janus has picked up some instruments along the way. It started out with just a piano. But soon that turned into a violin too.
Roman and Patton are shocked by this. They already found Janus to be so cool- and now this? They’ll request songs or print off the sheet music and eagerly hand it to him. Janus will gladly take it and try his best to play it first try. Sure there are mistakes, but it seems like his boyfriends either ignore them or don’t care.
Janus starts teaching the two different instruments. Roman wants to learn the violin and Patton wants to learn piano. It’s awkward at first- Janus has only taught himself and he’s trying to adapt to their learning styles too.
Roman and Patton sing a birthday song for Janus with the instruments. Janus almost cries.

Royality
Movie nights
Patton and Roman both love Disney so you can bet that it’s playing 90% of the time.
Roman will sing along while making dramatic expressions with his hands. While Patton will join in for the duets or his favorites, he's also content with seeing how happy Roman is.
Patton will sometimes mouth lines to old cartoons. It seems subconscious but Roman wonders how many times Pat’s seen the show.
They always get teary-eyed during the sad parts. Roman will wrap his arms around Patton, holding tight enough so that he’s sure that Patton won’t go. Patton will lean into Roman in return. Patton doesn’t know how to go about the topic, but he still wants to assure Roman that he’s there.
(There’s still more. Just wanted to cut it for length reasons.)
Bad days
Patton’s not the best about being an open book. He tries his best but, only positive emotions like to show themselves. He doesn’t want to display the "wrong" emotions, it’d most likely bother the other sides. He’ll try to stay in his room when it gets bad.
Patton isn’t a bad actor but Roman pays too much attention for all his bad days to slip by. He’ll gently knock on the door and immediately embrace Patton in a hug. Although the act itself seems small it’s enough for Patton to start crying in the prince’s arms.
Roman is a pretty convincing actor. He’ll throw around some nicknames. Makes a musical reference, and he's fine. But if he receives feedback on how either 'wasn’t that creative' or 'he could do better'. He'll have to laugh it off, rolling his eyes, hiding how much it hurt him.
Patton finds it hard to spot these days, but he makes sure to notice the small things. (Roman will crinkle his nose at something Remus said. His eyes will light up at certain phrases, due to them also being in a musical.) But on the bad days, Patton will go over to Roman’s room with some comfort foods offering to hang out with him. Roman sighs, feeling like the world has been lifted off his shoulders, and lets him in.
Baking
Roman loves baking. It’s one of his favorite things to do. It’s adding the right amount of ingredients but getting to design your product with frosting in the end. Needless to say, it’s not uncommon to see the fanciful side making some cookies. He shares the cookies to all the sides but he does make special batches just for Patton.
On the other hand, Patton can’t seem to wrap his mind around baking. It’s complicated really. He’s wowed by the thought that Roman seems too understand all of it without a second doubt.
Roman helps Patton out. It’s awkward at first. Bumping into each other or reaching for the same thing, but the two find their place. They’ll play some music that they love while dancing in the kitchen. Or sometimes they’ll throw flour on each other while giggling so much it almost hurts. Either way, the two are always ending the day with “I love you"s and forehead kisses.
Bonus: the other sides would be disappointed in the mess they've made, but it’s worth seeing how happy they are.

Sleeping problems
Logan sometimes can’t sleep from his non-stop thinking (mostly thinking about the work he has to do tomorrow and the work he’s recently done). He tries everything he can think of, no sugar or electronics before bed, calming music, white noise, even messing with the temperature in his room. He decides to just get back to work at that point because thinking about Thomas’ schedule is better than being alone with his thoughts.
Virgil will sometimes see the light peeking out from the bottom of Logan’s door and he knows it’s one of those nights. He’ll go in, manage to pull Logan’s tired eyes from the computer, and bring him to cuddle. It doesn’t always help him sleep, but it’s also nice to have someone there.
Virgil sometimes can’t sleep from non-stop thinking, but in a different way. He thinks about a variety of things, scary stories, Thomas’ friends pretending to like him, the other sides pretending to like him. He accepts after a few hours of tossing and turning that he won’t be able to sleep anytime soon. He plugs in his headphones and listens to some of his favorite songs.
All the sides can generally know when the others are awake. It’s a vague, but strong feeling that you can only acknowledge if you try to pay attention to it. Logan decides to check in on Virgil, only to see him with tired eyes scrolling through his phone while faint music plays from his headphones. Logan knows that Virgil can’t sleep but he still wants to help. Some nights, Virgil wants to be held and sometimes he wants them to be alone together. Logan is accepting of any option and will try his best to help Virgil relax along the way.
(There’s still more. Just wanted to cut it for length reasons.)
Baking
It’s another sides’ birthday tomorrow and Virgil wants to give them a cake. Virgil’s had experience baking before. However, he’s not perfect at it. He desperately tries to make it perfect but he keeps on messing up in small ways that seem so enormous to him. After many more failed attempts Logan finds him in the kitchen late at night with a hand over his mouth to quiet his own cries and it hurts Logan to see him like that.
Logan first helps him calm down. It isn’t a monumental task, but it’s one that he places first priority on anyways. Logan turns on some music in the background, some of Virgil’s favorites, in hopes of lightening the mood. Logan helps Virgil with the measuring, even showing him some well-known techniques along the way. Although Virgil feels guilty that he’s ‘using’ Logan, the logical side tells him how much fun he had hanging out with Virgil. He’s still doubtful that it’s true, but he tries to believe Logan as much as he can.
Logan doesn’t know what to do for Valentine’s Day. He’s confident in his feelings for Virgil, but he’s still unused to showing his affection through words and gifts. However, he still wants to give something to Virgil. He goes into the kitchen late at nights, making sure that Virgil is asleep, and starts getting out ingredients. Logan spent a few days beforehand specifically planning what to make. Although the decision isn’t easy, he eventually decides on making Virgil’s favorite cookies.
When Virgil receives them. He’s surprised? He knows Logan is observant and most likely knows things like this about all of the sides- he’s still shocked that Logan would put so much effort into something for him. Logan only responds by telling Virgil about how he deserves so much more than how he could ever provide.
Music
Virgil knows that Logan can have a hard time expressing his thoughts into words. And he has an idea. He spends a few days making sure it’s right and gives Logan a playlist of songs. It has a variety of songs but to make sure Logan gets the point, he bluntly tells him the plan.
Virgil first felt embarrassed saying it out loud. (Is Logan going to take it as an insult? Is he going to break up with Virgil?) But Logan is just speechless, knowing how much music means to Virgil. He tries his best to express his affection only to end up tongue-tied. He instead states how he’ll listen to it right away.
They start making playlists for each other. It’s weird for Logan at first, but he quickly catches on. Sometimes they’ll make playlists about their affection towards each other. Or sometimes it’ll be about their negative feelings
Logan likes indie music. He mainly appreciates the “vibe” that they give off.

Dark Sides #3
Spreading gossip about the light sides
Remus always talks about how “boring” Roman’s ideas are.
Remus is kidding most of the time. But he does wish he had some voice on Thomas’ creativity.
Janus claims that he heard Patton curse. No one knows if he’s kidding.
Virgil knows he heard Logan rapping Hamilton. But anytime Virgil bursts into the room, Logan is back on his bed reading a book.
Birthdays
Virgil doesn’t like all the sides celebrating his birthday, but it’s nice to have two close friends just enjoying the day with him.
Janus is neutral about birthdays. Of course, he’ll sing happy birthday and give a gift but he doesn’t exactly see the point of them.
“Why act like you care only on a special occasion?”
Remus loves them. It’s a day where he’s allowed to not have any censor or worry about his words. He could care less about gifts, but he secretly adores the thought others put in him.
Self-care days where all of them talk about their emotions to each other
Virgil talks about how his anxiety has been. Ironically, his anxiety will sometimes peak at the thought of discussing it, but Janus and Remus are there to comfort and encourage him to talk about his feelings.
Being self-preservation can be exhausting at times. He has to keep tabs on everyone at all times. And although he cares so much about his friends, he still needs breaks for his emotions too.
Remus can’t get used to talking about his thoughts. He’s been labeled as bad for so many years- where is he supposed to start? He doesn’t want to scare them off by being “gross”. He’s given time to talk, he’s given time to be himself. It’s awkward at first, but he’s starting to get the hang of it.

Dark Sides #2 (Virgil centric)
Virgil has a long day and gets taken care of
Janus makes his favorite tea and gets some soft blankets
Remus tries to lighten up on the crude humor
Although it doesn’t always work, Virgil always appreciates the thought
Virgil has trouble sleeping
Virgil just tries to listen to music in hopes that the familiar tunes will make him tired
One day, Janus finds him passed out on the couch and carries him to bed
Remus sometimes finds Virgil with his back to the wall and trying to look at every possible corner. Although he isn’t one for emotional comfort, he just holds Virgil in hopes that it’s helping him.
It usually works, but when Virgil isn’t in the mood to be touched, Remus will just ramble about something that happened earlier that day to distract him.
Virgil’s sick
Virgil doesn’t want anyone to worry and ends up staying in his room all day.
Janus catches on and makes sure he drinks enough water and brings him meals/tissues
(When Janus can’t stay with him) Remus will binge watch shows with Virgil and make sure he stays in bed.
