February 25th 2023
I’ve just been dropped off for my second time in rehab. The goodbye to my mother was so hard.I was hyperventilating and sobbing like a mess. I called several times asking to turn around and come back to get me. The last trip left me pretty scared. Long story short I went along with the protocol and let them check me in and play twenty questions till I was blue in the face. Then I was laying in this room for over an hour waiting for them to take me to my room. They finally came in and said they were looking all over for me. Well I haven’t moved anywhere and you’ve taken everything away from me including my phone at this point. I get it back after six days of detoxing. I was beyond frustrated and annoyed it’s this and it was not looking pretty for anyone who was going to come in contact with me from here on out. They get me to the detox floor and then they start giving me my meds and they made me so sleepy I slept through dinner and was hangry at this point. I was freaking out and was finally able to use a land line phone to call out and begged and begged again to have someone come get me. No one would. I knew they wouldn’t I had to at least detox safely off of alcohol. I am Sara I’m almost 30 at this point in the time line and I’m an alcoholic starting yet another recovery journey. If you have struggled like I have you know the pain. Maybe you know someone or have someone in your live who is struggling and it is effecting you or your relationship with them. Or maybe you’re just interested in what alcoholism and recovery really are. Regardless if anyone is reading or not I’m about to tell you my story. More to come…
