You guys have known eachother for a decent amount of time. Probably not as long as she’s known BoJack, but whatever.

Close but distant. Always in her contacts but not necessarily always a call away.

Princess Carolyn is a busy woman. We all know this.

Between her obnoxious clients and BoJack, she’s got a lot on her plate.

You two have lunch on the rare occasion she’s got a break from work, she enjoys the brief time she spends with you.

But she can’t spend a whole lot of time with you.

She’s always dealing with BoJack, like she’s his babysitter. Her feelings towards him were..complicated. Really complicated.

She looks for something healthy, but it’s almost like healthy isn’t for her. Almost.

She calls you for lunch one day. She’s really tired and you’re one of the only drama free people in her hectic life.

It might be at lunch one day when she looks at you and feels something. Something she doesn’t recognize at first. A warm feeling, like you’re a comfort. A small comfort in this stressful world.

She calls more, she texts some, you meet up for lunch and coffee more often.

And maybe it’s one night after a longgg day at work when she’s laying awake, restless in bed and alone. She picks up her phone and calls you, because she can’t sleep.

and maybe one day in someone else’s bed she wakes up and misses something, but it’s not the person next to her. For how smart she is, she can’t recognize what she wants.

She’s never considered herself gay. Or straight, explicitly, anyway. She never really bothered labeling her sexuality, it wasn’t her focus. She never questioned her norm.

Over coffee one day she remarks how being around you always brightens her day, and how you’re calming and not stressful. How she maybe hasn’t felt this way for awhile, how nice it is to have a good friend.

I’m not gonna lie it takes her awhile to realize her feelings. For one, she’s SUPER busy, and two; she hasn’t had romantic experience with women before. She’s probably had a crush and not…realized it..basically.

One day she’s laying awake at night and, like in the song, it hits her in the middle of the night when she realizes.

The next day is full of pacing and consistent coffee refills, snapping at her assistant and being inattentive with her clients. BoJack is talking to her but she isn’t even listening.

She’s not..used to this. To feeling so calm and okay around someone, to not constantly be running around and fixing their mistakes, resting her hands if only for a moment.

And what does this mean about BoJack? How does she feel about him? And how will this affect her life? Is she even ready for a relationship? Is this even real?

She thinks about it for a day. Then a week. Then a month. Maybe even longer.

She doesn’t know what to do. It’s almost like she can’t believe it, or like she can’t dare to love someone like she loved BoJack again.

On her day off work, she’s been preparing for the whole week; she gets dressed, she combs her hair, she’s proper and ready for the day. She picks up her phone. She calls you.

You two meet up at a cafe. You grab coffee. She sees you and you see her, talking to eachother. P.C has something to say in the back of her mind the whole time, but she can’t get it out. (Cat got her tongue?)

At one point when you’ve taken a brief reprieve from what you were saying, she can’t help but blurt out what she’s been thinking about for months now. For countless hard days and lonely nights;

“I love you.”
