i feel so bad for nikola tesla like imagine spending years beefing with a guy who has conned the public into believing he's some sort of supergenius when in reality it's his overworked employees developing all of his world-changing inventions and you end up dying broke and starving and alone and then 200 years later another guy cons the public into believing he's some sort of supergenius when in reality it's his overworked employees developing all of his world-changing inventions and he's doing it all IN YOUR NAME. he must be rolling in his grave like a fucking rotisserie chicken

interpretation of movie "Nope" by friends:
1. the film's about police brutality. the ufo represents police—outsiders who come to surveil/patrol your neighborhood and fuck you up if you challenge their presence ("staring at them" in movie). also about how most police killings go unnoticed because it's rarely captured, hence why film's ufo carnage always fails to get filmed. the burden of proof.
2. about how entertainment industry exploits people. the black jockey was used in the first ever motion picture reel but never given credit (black erasure from hollywood). everyone wants to get famous even if it means filming others' suffering or putting own life at risk for spectacle. hollywood will steal your work to make money, hence tmz guy intruding on haywood ranch during showdown to cash in on their alien footage. also, the reason why gordy the chimp doesn't kill jupe is bc he sees jupe (asian child actor) as an equal also being used by the industry. tokenized.
3. social media/fame makes us commodify our trauma. not only does jupe survive a traumatizing massacre, he spends the rest of his life making money off it. he sells gordy memorabilia and markets his tragedy. the others want to get "the best shot" that'll guarantee them fame even when their own lives are at stake. not only does the entertainment industry exploit us, we've learned to exploit ourselves for it.

Sammajammaz: We often talk about what will be abolished under socialism/communism, but never what will be built. This, to me, is a mistake
Rocknocking: Ofc we do (attaches picture of sign that reads:”Make the golf course a public sex forest.”)
