HOW DID I MISS THIS

Got a sudden burst of inspiration and decided to put together a general "Oh No, Bad Things Are Happening Right Now" @seekerquest fan theme. I let myself experiment a little with this one, aiming for more of a frantic, fast-paced feel where it sounds almost like the music's tripping over itself and your ears struggle to figure out what's going on now and then.

Another different anon here, I do think about the comic from time to time! It's among my favorite webcomics and I used to read a -lot- of them. Seeing that Seeker was updated with an epilogue made my week and I love the comic even more after it. (I'm also enjoying the sequel set in the same universe but it has big shoes to fill. The main trio are adorable though.)

So many wonderful things to be told today... thank you for this.

Can I just say, I never intended to have an epilogue for Seeker - the first or the second. I was content to leave it at the end reveal and let people freak out. But seeing how much love was given to the characters and the story, and how much I came to adore them, I increasingly felt compelled to give some form of closure. I'm super glad I did, too. It was like giving someone a present they really love and getting to watch their delighted reaction when they open it up. Extremely rewarding.

What music to my ears this is. I honestly keep forgetting that Seeker wasn't just a comic drawn by me and read by, like, 5 people who are friends with me and reading it to humor me. It feels so small and casual. So this has been a super good day so far!

Buddy, I still remember and hold this comic dearly to this day!

Heck, it's even inspiration for some aspects of the world I'm building for a TTRPG that I may or may not run. Like, whenever I workshop details about the world's godlike figures, I keep drawing parallels between them and the Family because in a way, their stories are fairly similar (the oldest disappearing, leaving the rest confused and worried; a creation that is actually a crucial fragment of a shattered creator; a creator that resents creations because the latter (nearly) killed their sibling; etc.), to the point that I’ve started calling them "The Family" as well.

The similarities weren't intentional of course, but since I've noticed, I can't unsee them and keep making references (much to my twin's, one of the players, confusion; they've yet to read the comic 😆).

No but for real, that's fucking awesome. Thank you for telling me that. I'm almost tempted to tell you to never let your twin read the comic, just to keep them permanently confused.

Different person here - people are absolutely still thinking about Seeker even several months after the comic ended, I can confirm that I'm still regularly rotating the characters in my head and Feeling Things At Them (especially Seeker, she's basically my number-one comfort character).

Decided to reread the comic recently, and I'm pleased to report that while reading it in one sitting as opposed to update-by-update over the course of years certainly feels different, it's just as good as it was the first time! Now my brain's busy obsessing over how well you wrote Seeker and Fen's friendship and how realistic and natural it feels, and I won't be able to stop thinking about them for probably a week or so.

God, it has been so long since I've read Seeker myself. I'll have to take your word for it. In which case I say thank you so much for the kind words!

Seeker and Fen interacting really was my favorite part of writing Seeker, looking back. I am a huge fan of banter and characters just bouncing off of each other, and those two were PERFECT for it. Of all the things about Seeker I think of, their bond is by far the most recurring. They are dear to my heart, man. So very dear.

Rephrasing my question: What would Seeker look like a Jackalope?

I assume that now, Pax creations are going to be allowed to leave the world and enter the hallway, so I was wondering, who of Pax creations (except for Seeker of course) would be the first, to be curious about stepping outside of Pax world, and maybe entering one of the other worlds?

Also i was wondering, with Seeker being back, do you think Fen is going to show his world to her?

I can see Stargazer being the first to explore, which would bring Architect out to make sure he doesn't get hurt, which precedes everyone else (agree or disagree, after all of this, they'll follow Architect anywhere). Teller would only go out if Pax asked him to come with him - not out of shyness, but out of dedication to his role as an assistant. Seeker, of course, is going everywhere regardless of how long it takes everyone else to.

As for Fen's world...don't you worry. She's going to explore it whether or not he wants her to. Which he will, sooner or later, but she won't wait long.
