Clothing is an Armour. It hides and shields from all that watches, though rather ineffectively. They still see the shape of my breast, my fatty sides, my slouched shoulders from too heavy chest.
I can hide my imperfections, or I can highlight them in a way that flatter my personality and stature. I don't know what others would choose.
But I do wonder, will there come a day when I will be without a cloth upon my skin, as if mother born, and there would be no malice from a gaze upon myself.
Because I feel like I have a nurturing body, that of a carer, and I would like for you to take a rest upon my stomach, where I'm softest of it all, and hold no ulterior motive, except for dreams where you did the same with your own mother.
I was not created to be a part of a passionate embrace, but mother's caress.
I know a lot of emphasis is placed on a naked body.
Burlesque shows are a teasing display, peeling off bits at a time. Strip clubs, strip tease, strip poker. It's the slow dismantle of that damned clothing, the one thing in the way of seeing the naked form in all its clothing.
But my clothing is armor. A knitted breastplate and wool, pressed cruisses. They keep me safe from the touch of unwanted textures and hands. They make the body look good. Peeling it off piece by piece just makes me feel like a naked bird, the loss of beautiful plumage.
Will you still call me pretty when my clothes come off? Will you rub circles into the soft skin of my exposed underbelly the same way you feel the fabric of my sweater? Will you still want to be pressed close without the buffer of soft polyester and cotton?

a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
"Every writer"?
come on

Dead on Main Omegaverse
Jason is having a brothers day out with Dick. The once a month they let the other in on their inner most thoughts.
“So any thoughts of dating?” Dick asked, setting a beer in front of Jason before sitting with his own.
Jason snorts, “An alpha wouldn’t want me.”
“Come on Little Wing,” Dick insists, “a traditional alpha would like the fact you cook and take care of kids well. A non traditional alpha would love your independence and resourcefulness. What’s not to like about you!”
“No alpha wants an omega that can break them in half.”
900 miles away Danny Fenton sits at Nasty Burger with his friends. He was the only alpha in Amity Park that weighed 180 pounds soaking wet.
“Look, there might be someone outside of this small town that likes small alphas,” Sam tries to point out.
“Yeah,” Tucker backs her up, “statistically you’ll find a better match in a global city like New York or Gotham.”
“I did qualify for a Gotham U scholarship,” Danny says. Tucker grasps Danny’s shoulder and shakes it while Sam slaps the table excitedly.
“See!” She exclaims, “already looking at the bright side! We’ll help you pack, set up a dating profile, and plan rogue attack escape routes.”
“Oh! And catch you up to speed on the bats—”
Danny smiled sadly as his friends talked about to do lists and must haves. He’s grateful for them but he knows that there’s no omega out there that would want an alpha they could push over with their pinkie.

Do y'all ever read a fic so good that it makes you want to elevate your own craft and also befriend the writer? It's almost like, "Hi! You write so well that you've inspired me to embark on a creative training arc. Also, can I yell about the character in your dms because you get it?"

Pls comment cause it's life juice
"i don't comment on ao3 because i don't wanna be annoying or weird" skill issue + you greatly underestimate the power dynamic here, writing multi paragraph comments is like feeding a bunch of deeply insane and possibly starved ducks at the park and watch them go completely mad over having received a piece of bread

As I swear, So MOTE IT BE
NOTICE: As more and more fanfic writers are using generative AI for their works (you uncreative dweebs), I hereby swear on everything I hold dear that I have not and will NEVER use generative AI in ANY of my written work. Everything I post will be organically and creatively my own.

Writers, here’s your reminder that you should be doing warm-ups!
Athletes need to warm up. Musicians need to warm up. Artists need to warm up. Heck, I even have to play a few matches in video games before I get into a groove every day.
Warm-ups help you get into the right headspace, give you more control of your actions and word choice, get you comfortable in your physical setting (eg: with your keyboard, notebook, tablet, or whatever you're writing with), and spark creativity.
Even if you don’t think you have spoons to write, sit down and do a couple warm-ups. If you still don’t want to, that’s alright. But. I think you’ll be surprised how often they help break that ice.
5-15 minutes is all you need. I personally set a timer for ten minutes each time and do not stop writing until the time is up. Your warm-up can be anything at all so long as it gets you writing and starts nudging those creative juices.
Here's some common warm-ups:
Journaling. Just jot down some notes about your day. Feel free to really lean into something that you noticed. We're going for description and details -- try to avoid settling into a spiral or focusing on something negative that will upset your creativity.
Short story prompts. Type that into Pinterest and pick the most ridiculous, cliche thing you can. Write a little scene, story summary, or even a rant about why you do or don't like the prompt. Just write.
Vocab challenge. If you like a bit more critical thinking to get you in the zone, have a random vocabulary word generator spit out five or so words. Check their meanings and jot down a little story or thought that includes all five. You get more familiar with beautiful and descriptive language, and it gives you a much narrowed prompt (which is lovely if you're like me and suffer each time there's an open-ended task assigned).
Character moments. Try putting your character into a generic setting and write down almost meticulously what their thought process would be. Follow them realizing they've just stepped in mud or dreading the start of the day. Pick a mundane thing and describe them working through it. This will not only get your writing going, but it will wake up the character's voice in your head.
Ongoing storytelling. Did you know that Whinnie the Poo was A.A. Milne's warm up story? He would jot down a quick little story with those very basic characters and did so every day. Whatever came to mind. He kept writing little tidbits on the same characters and eventually it turned into a series. Having that ongoing plot with isolated scenes and simple characters can help you feel more motivated to sit down and write.
Get-to-know-you-questions. Google a list of basic first-date questions (there are a million out there) and answer one yourself. Go into specifics. Where do you most want to travel and why? Let yourself ramble until the question is fully answered.
Writer's block blues. This is a favorite of mine. If you're truly stuck, write about being stuck. Eg: 'I'm supposed to write for ten minutse, but that feels so stupid and impossible. No one is goign to read this anyway. I have no ideas and the page is so overwhelming when its blank. I used to be able to write on and on and nothing could stop me. it was like breathing. but now I have nothign and do nothing and I can't even do a stupid prompt-' Even the rambling and ranting got me writing. It made things easier. It made writing this post easier. Also -- notice the typos? Yeah, don't fix those. You're in writing mode, not editing mode when you're doing this. If you edit while you write, you're forcing yourself to stay in your executive and calculating headspace rather than falling fully into creativity and dream. Ignore the mistakes. That's for future you to handle.
I've officially rambled far too much, but I hope that helps even a little bit. Live well and write often, my friends. Best of luck to you <3

Have I made you proud? - asks Idealist
I just read in a manhwa the feelings of a mother that discovers her child's passion through outside source, and she is proud.
She apparently has an urge to exclaim
"He is my son."
And seeing this scene just hit me in the gut. It could be that I had two seizures today and I'm feeling tired from that. It could be that 'shark week' is around the corner so my emotions are on 11/10 dialed up.
But I just wondered. Have I ever made my mother that proud. As that 14/15 yo boy has?
I'm drooling and snot is dripping from my nose and I'm crying and cringing at myself, because I'm pathetic.
I never had a partner. Probably never will.
My country is going to shit and I live to watch it burn because I'm disabled and cannot find a normal job.
I finally started going to the doc again, because 5 seizures in one day are just too much for me.
I'm tired folks.
But I also have dreams.
When is it too late to start again? And how do I do it?

storyteller saturday!
I remember when this was a big thing on writeblr, but it seems to have died down a lot so
reblog this post if you'd like STS asks about your story and characters! send an ask back to the people who send an ask to you.... and look through the notes and pick some people to send asks to as well!
you can ask anything you like! how someone came up with their ideas, how their characters would fare in a haunted house, what kinds of symbolism is present in their work... get creative! get silly if you'd like!
I'll be reblogging this post every saturday and sending out asks to people who share it :]
