-To put it quite simply, Ron's love language is quality time. He isn't one who can form his feelings for you into words or show it through physical touch. He prefers to show it through spending time with you.

-He doesn't really know much in the romance department when it comes to an actual romantic relationship so he tends to stick with something simple and clear, such as spending time with you.

-Cafes are a common place you both will go to but, it's up to you. He wants you to pick rather than having him pick every time. He does have an opinion sometimes and doesn't have a problem voicing it to you.

-Toto is a simple yet shy person when it comes to love. He tends to lean more towards gift giving or acts of service. Both are very common for him to do so he can show his love for you!

-He gets you simple yet meaningful gifts. A flower he saw at the florist when he was walking by, a treat from a cafe, a framed picture of the both of you, etc. They're always so simple yet they're filled with loved knowing that you're always on his mind.

-Toto enjoys doing things for you too. He'll do nearly anything. Whether it be you just need him to do some chores around the house because you had a rough day at work or if you need him to go out to the store to buy something for dinner, he doesn't mind at all.

-Milo is a tricky one because sometimes even you can't tell if he's messing with you or not. Either way, gift giving is often something he'll do. Sometimes you'll walk into your bedroom and see a little box wrapped in a ribbon from him.

-Sometimes he doesn't have much time to give you the love you want and so he'll settle for leaving you gifts in places he knows you'll be. It ranges in size, price, and even the item itself can be completely different and something you weren't expecting.

-Mention something that you saw in a shop and it just might be on your bedside table the next day. He takes note of everything you mention and will keep it for later use just in case a special day is coming up, otherwise they're usually when you least expect them.

-Winter tends to be a bit more of an emotional person and will act on their emotions sometimes. Quality time is how they usually will show their love because they feel like it's how they can get their love across to you.

-Nearly anything is on the table for them. Motorcycle rides together, sitting somewhere peaceful together, baking something, anything you want! They don't prefer to go out on dates and would rather stay home but, occasionally they don't mind going out.

-They don't mind light physical touch either. They wouldn't rather have a lot of it but, things like holding hands or quick kisses are something they do enjoy a lot, mostly in private.

Make them separate fics. I’m begging you. I can’t keep scrolling past that one fic with 115 fandoms and 75 chapters of one-sentence drabbles. I can’t.

AO3 Etiquette -UPDATED

Based on both decent and not so decent replies, I have made some changes to my original post below.

It would seem a whole new kind of AO3 reader/writer is emerging and it is becoming clear not everyone quite understands how the website community works. Here is some basic guidance on how most people expect you to go about using AO3 to keep this a fun community archive that funtions correctly:

As well as likes, kudos is for when the story was interesting enough to make you finish reading. If it sucked or was badly written, you probably left. If you finished it, you liked it - so kudos.

If you really liked it, you should try to comment. It can be long and detailed or a literal keysmash. Writers don't care, we just love comments.

No critisism unless the author has specifically asked or agreed to hear it (so use your notes to say if you want some constructive feedback). Even constructive critisism is a no-no unless an author note tells you it's okay. No, posting it online is not an open invitation for that. Many people write as a fun hobby or a way to cope with, among other things, insecurity and just want to share. Don't ruin that for them. I've seen so many authors just stop writing coz they can't handle the negative emotions the critism brings, and it's only meant to be a fun thing shared for free (pointing out tagging errors is not included in this).

Do not comment to ask the author to write/update something else. It's tacky and off-putting and will probably have the opposite effect than the one you want.

There is no algorithm, it's an archive. Use the search and filter function to add/remove the pairings/characters/tropes etc. you want to read about and it will find you the fics that fit the bill.

For this to work, writers must tag and rate stories. This avoids readers finding the wrong things and missing the stuff they want. I don't care how cringy that trope is in your eyes - it gets tagged.

The tag exception is if you don't want to tag a million things or spoil your story, you can rate it as "chose not to use warnings," and maybe tag as "dead dove - do not eat" but be aware many people will avoid this in case it has something awful or triggering in it.

Character A/Character B means a ROMANTIC or SEXUAL relationship of some kind. Character A&Character B is PLATONIC, like friendship or family.

Nothing is banned. This is an rule because banning one thing is a slipperly slope to banning another and another, until nothing is allowed anymore. Do not expect anyone to censor for you. Because of the tags system, you are responsible for your own reading experience.

People can create new chapters and sequels/fic series any time after they "complete" a story. So it's considered perfectly normal to subscribe, even to a finished story. You can even subscribe to the author instead just to cover your bases.

Do not repost stories or change the publishing date without an extremely good reason (like a complete top to bottom rewrite). It's an archive, not social media. No one cares what's the most recent, only what fits their tag needs.

Instead of deleting a story you wrote if you hate it - consider making it anonymous or orphaning it so others can still enjoy it, without it being connected to your name anymore.

It's come to my attention that metaworks ARE allowed on AO3, which is something I wasn't aware of. So if you do post an essay or theory, please tag it as such so others can choose to search for it or exclude it. Art is also allowed.

The only reason this archive works is because NON ONE PROFITS. Do not link to your ko-fi or patreon or mention monetary gain in any way or you violate the terms and risk having your account removed. If anyone does link, it leaves the archive open to people claiming it's for profit and having the whole thing removed.

I KNOW there's plenty more I missed but I'm trying to cover most of the basics that people seem to be struggling with.

I invite anyone to add to this, but please explain, don't berate.

Saw my first post with someone admitting they used chatGPT to ‘write a fic’ which they then shared here on tumblr and on Ao3.

To be clear, using AI to churn out a piece of fiction is not writing.

Using a bot (possibly one that was trained using a scrape of Ao3, that is to say, the theft of work from every writer who has posted their work on Ao3) is NOT WRITING.

It is theft. It isn’t creation. It’s a regurgitation of the consumed collective work and effort and heart and time of every writer who has shared their work on Ao3.

‘I’m not a good writer’ is no excuse.

Want to be a writer? Put in the time everyone else does to practice.

Don’t feel confident in your work? Open yourself up to the same vulnerability and risk that the rest of us do.

You don’t get to use a fucking bot to vomit out an approximation of a story and pretend you’ve got skin in the game.

The sad thing? This bot-assembled fic wasn’t bad. It was bland, but it had internal logic, some passing context to character and canon. It wasn’t like those early AI art pieces that had surreal compositions and extra fingers. It wasn’t immediately obvious it was made by a bot.

In this instance the person who posted it admitted they had used a bot. Which, actually, I have some respect for. But it probably isn’t the first and it won’t be the last.

I don’t know that there’s a solution to this, but it is both hurting my heart and enraging me.
