#dearperdev
Dear Ate Sarah,
I am Sarah Desquitado, a teenager who is currently facing challenges interms of school and family. Being on the 11th grade and being an only child gives me so much pressure to do things satisfying the expectations of my family. I grew up just doing and fulfilling other people’s wants. That’s why I always think that my efforts are not enough. I have always follow the words of my parents, and I’ve always obey the things that they wanted me to do. This kind of pressure gives me negative effects as a person, not just emotionally but also mentally. I tend to overthink on what will happen on the things that I do.  I also get easily annoyed by little things.
I am not like this before, expecially when I was younger. I was a happy pill for my friends and my family but since I started highschool, the expectations of my parents become higher, resulting to a huge pressure that I have to endure.
 RESPONSE:
Dear Younger Sarah,
I know that you have been through a lot these past few years; you have been forced to do things just to comply with the expectations of your parents. I know it is really difficult but please bear with it for a little bit longer, soon these hardships will end. Giving up is never an option, you were raised a fighter so never stop knocking down your challenges. I have actually experienced that kind of problem. And throughout the years, I have overcome those problems by following these points:
1)      Take deep breaths.
2)      Value yourself; treat yourself with kindness and respect, and avoid self-criticism.
3)      Be with a good company
4)      Write down your thoughts and feelings about what is stressing you.
5)      Think of the words that your about to say.
6)      Do something that makes you happy
As you face some challenges, always reflect on it and learn from it. Dont be a perfectionist; learn to accept your mistakes because you can only learn from a mistake after you admit you’ve made it. Also remember that there are those people who would always give a helping hand to you in times of crisis, and be more open to other people. I hope this could help you!
“Living is a process of developing oneself. Without experiencing pain from disconcerting periods of our lives, we would be different person, perhaps a lesser person.”  ― Kilroy J. Oldster, Dead Toad Scrolls

HOW TO DEAL WITH STRESS:
1) Get enough Sleep- Adequate sleep is a key part of a healthy lifestyle, and can benefit your heart, weight, mind, and more. Researchers recommend Adults to have 7-9 hours of sleep.
2) Think positive- Positive thinking leads to positive life.  With a positive attitude we experience pleasant and happy feelings.
3) Travel with friends/family-  Traveling is the best way to escape life’s problems and recharge your emotional batteries. It relaxes your mind and it makes you appreciate the wonders of the world. It would help spend more time with your family and friends and it is  a great way to have a more intimate bond with your family.
4) Eat- It is a must for a person to eat. Eating poorly or well can make a big difference on both the physical and mental aspects of your body. I recommend to have  a healthy diet because it can balance out your body and allows it to function in its most efficient state.
5) Be with great company- be with your friends and spend time with them. Your friends is like a haven that will offer you tons of enjoyable memories and happy moments letting you forget about your troubles.
6) Do what you love-  do what you always love; pursue your passion. Doing what you love keeps you motivated to do more things.

#AGoodLeader
A leader is a person that is able to exercise a high degree of control or influence over others. Being in a dominant position requires a lot of things to do. You cannot just be a leader because all of the member find you big, or you belong in a superior team or maybe the members are just scared of you.  A leader is not just a person who is only dominant, one must also have the good leadership and one must be competence. Being a leader requires a lot of skills on how to lead everyone and how to find solutions in problems in the group.  Leaders help themselves and others to do the right things. They set direction, build an inspiring vision, and create something new. Leadership is about mapping out where you need to go to "win" as a team or an organization; and it is dynamic, exciting, and inspiring. Being a good leader means being a good follower. Like a follower, a leader must be also good in listening to the others, considering their feelings or suggestions and also following the overall decision of the group and not just following his own. To be a good leader, you must be less distracted than your competition. To get the few critical things done, you must develop incredible selective ignorance. A leader must focus on a goal where it highly benefits the group.  Being a leader is not easy. So for you to be leader, you must ready to accept the challenges that may occur on your way.

REST
Rest is the conversation between what we love to do and how we love to be. To rest is to give up on the already exhausted will as the prime motivator of endeavor, with its endless outward need to reward itself through established goals.

MY KIND OF LOVE
As a teenager, As I am.
As a person and as a constant observer.
I have seen and experienced different kinds of love.
Love to one’s family  or even the love to one’s friends.
But i think the most important kind of love, is the love for oneself.
They say that love conquers all,
Love is a connection of a person to another.
It is an untamed force that we cannot control.
It is a sacrificial effort that we do.
But love always starts from within ourselves.
Loving ourselves leads us to love others.
Self love is necessary for acceptance and respect.
This self love is the foundation, and the beginning,
To start building a love for other people.
A love that relates us to the whole humanity.
So we must love ourselves first.
That’s the kind of love that we need.
That’s the kind of love that we are looking for.
A love, not just for other people,
But most importantly, A love for ourselves.

MANAGING EMOTIONS
Emotions is a vital part of our everyday lives. Emotions are the most present, pressing and sometimes painful force in our lives. We are driven day by day by our emotions. We take chances because we’re excited for new prospects. We cry because we’ve been hurt and we make sacrifices because we love. Without a doubt, our emotions dictate our thoughts, intentions and actions with superior authority to our rational minds. But they are times when our emotions go beyond our limitations, we tend to let our emotions dominate our actions without thinking of what will happen. So it is very important for us to manage and control our emotions, for a positive and a healthy outcome in our lives.
Ways to manage our emotions:
1. Be Positive
-Don’t give in to negative thinking, learn to look in the positive side of life. Always remember to reinforce positivity to yourself-your thoughts and behaviors.
2. Distract yourself
-Go outside, explore and observe. Have a hobby or focus on the things that makes  you happy.
3. Environment
-Spending time with mother nature  is very helpful for calming the emotions. Breathe some fresh air, go into mountains or go see the horizons.
4. Be open.
-Its okay to talk and share your feelings. Spend time with other people and enjoy their company. Learn to ask help to others; you may ask for some advice in managing unhealthy situations.
5. Acceptance
- Learn to appreciate what is happening and avoid excessive criticism of others or of situations. Learn to accept the possibilities of things and set everything in a bigger picture. Every happening of our lives, whether good or bad, serves a higher purpose.

Dear Sarah,
I don't know where to start, it has been rough for you these days; to go to bed with bewildered and sad thoughts and to wake to disappointment. I'm sorry for making you smile less now, sorry for over stressing things and for not being your usual self. I can sense how frustrated you are and tired of everything but I only hope you won’t give up.
I couldn't be more proud of you, I saw how much you've grown from being little girl to a lady. This year started off rocky, but every day you learn a lesson that you can apply to make yourself better. DON'T think that problems are just problems, use them to learn. I know there are times where crazy thoughts comes into your mind like being just tired and done of everything, I'm sorry for thinking those kind of things. I know I'm just being weak but I know deep inside how strong you are, always remember that our God will never give you problems that you can't handle, just never let your emotions take over. You can do everything If you’ll just believe. Everything will be worth it when you will become a Doctor of Medicine. So Don’t stop on dreaming and remember to not settle for less. You are loved, You deserve the best and You are such a bucket of dreams. Giving up is never an option, you were raised a fighter so never stop knocking down your challenges.

#CAREERGOALS
What can I be like in the future?
What does the future beholds?
Never ending life questions.
Infinite finding of answers.
Started learning at an early age.
An introvert to an extrovert.
A huge dreamer,
But still a happy-go-lucky girl.
I grew up as an achiever,
From nursery to highschool.
Participated in such school activities,
Received honors and medals.
Tried photography contests,
But won only to some.
Became one of the drum and lyre members,
But only done it for fun.
I was known as an extensive dreamer,
Having goals of being a fine doctor.
Thinking about being a businesswoman too,
But there are still many things that I need to do.
Hard works and sacrifices that I’ve done,
Sadness, happiness, experiences and skills.
To the future, here I come,
Reaching goals will soon be complete.
Through my years of existence, I developed various skills, emotions and attitude. I had experience many things that lead me to learn the wholeness of life. Started as an introvert, but now I learned the essence of interaction. I do not actually agree to the quote: “Good things come to those who wait”, because I believe that Good things always come to those who work their asses of and never give up on life.
But ofcourse, achieving something is not always easy. I have to undergo many factors for me to accomplish this. Coping up with the stress and anxiety, expectations and other people’s judgment was very crucial. But to handle these things, inspiration, motivation and hard work is very important, Believing in yourself is the most needed.

“A mandala is such a space. It invites you deeper into your intuitive heart. It serves as an invitation for those questions so deep and shapeless you don’t have words to define them.”
My mandala represents who am i, my personality and my views in the world. The flower at the center of the mandala represents purity. I always believe that there is goodness and purity behind of everything. Most of us tend to see and judge a thing or a person based on how it looks, most of us see the negativity and grime of something that we may forget the positive attributes and the pureness of it. The diamond with those little circles represents how a person creates a barrier or a gap between the other. The world is tough, and i think one way for us to survive this vigorous world is to create a gap between ourselves and create a limit on everything. These convex lines is the views of other people. We cannot please everyone here on earth, and not everyone thinks the same. In the present, views and judgments of other people became the basis of how one sees herself. And as we developed ourselves, the impurities that we left behind will never be erased. That’s why people often don’t easily move on with their past because even if it is already finished, it can never be eliminated in our lives.
Developing in this kind of environment affects my personality and my views in the world. But it does makes me more open minded of what the world could offer to me, it is my shield on everybody and it is my weapon to survive.
