Raision kaupungin reaktio 👍
IS:n juttu, jossa puhutaan twiiteistä ja "transkohusta" muttei mainita että JKR tuki transvihamieliseen oikeuden päätökseen johtanutta kampanjaa 70 000 punnalla 👎

#ahhh i love this! adorable ♨️#also like. japanese onsen and ofurô culture has surprisingly many things in common with finnish sauna culture#like the sensation of water vs steam is totally different but the way it relaxes your body is similar#as is the way it clears and mellows your mind#both are communal and family spaces but also kind of spiritual spaces#and i could go on#kaj#bara bada bastu#onsen#ofurô#sauna#fanart#not yr

Just a heads up, there are bots going around on AO3 accusing people of using AI. Considering the timing, this is likely AI bros' retaliation for AO3 users calling them out for scraping their work. Examples of what you might be sent:

Erika's comment 💅
Yeah, Stubb messed up. His office already responded:
"The president supports both Finnish artists at Eurovision and wishes good luck to both contestants. [He] thinks it's amazing to have two Finnish artists at the contest."
[Helsingin Sanomat]
The thing about Stubb is, he isn't great at considering all the sides of very complex, nuanced issues at all times. (Even his own party mates said so when he was running for president.)
By expressing support for KAJ, specifically while on stage in Vörå, Stubb was supporting members of his own linguistic and cultural minority. Fenno-Swedes often face prejudice and occasionally even harassment in Finland (see for example the Language Barometer survey from 2024), and KAJ are both empowering them and changing attitudes for the better now. This is also what Erika Vikman means by the president supporting "his own" (she is part of the Finnish-speaking majority).
However, KAJ are also men, who by the way have been hailed as very good, wholesome role models for young people. Erika Vikman is a woman who has received a ton of hate for singing about women's sexual liberation and pleasure. Her performance is meant to be provocative, but the haters of course find it indecent and inappropriate, especially for young people to see. There is no bad blood between KAJ and Erika, and the majority of Finnish people are genuinely rooting for both! But there are some people who support KAJ and hate on Erika, and I don't think Stubb (who is fiscally conservative but famously liberal on social issues) wanted to validate their views.
Stubb probably thought he was just supporting members of his own linguistic and cultural minority, but he neglected to think about it from an intersectional point of view. He was also a man supporting men and forgetting to support a woman. Even though the woman is actually representing the country he is president of, while the men are only representing our closest ally and neighbour! Thus, he accidentally came across as both unpatriotic and a wee bit sexist.
As to the question of patriotism, I do think Stubb is patriotic, but he is also quite "internationally oriented" (he himself has admitted that he never enjoyed domestic politics as much as foreign politics). That's another reason why he probably sees no problem supporting Sweden's entry. In an interview about KAJ's Melodifestivalen win, he said he was excited to see Fenno-Swedish music break through in Sweden while our own entry had German vibes. A clumsy way to include Erika Vikman, but very much in line with Stubb's international mindset.
So I genuinely don't think he meant to exclude Erika Vikman; he just got carried away being among "among his own", but she was still very right to call him out. I hope he takes the criticism on board!
Eurovision Fact #999:

President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, visited the home town of Sweden's 2025 representative KAJ in Vörå, Finland. While there with the band he said a win for KAJ would be a win for Finland. However, people on social media noted that he has not made any comments about Finland's own representative Erika Vikman. Some people online went as far to say that the President's actions were unpatriotic.
Vikman herself said she was unsurprised by the comments, or lack thereof, saying:
"It’s great that the president encourages his own...It’s not surprising to me. But it would be a joy to see that one day great men would also stand on the side of women like me..."

Minor update: According to HBL, Jakob mentioned Kekkonen and said that Stubb was always welcome to fish in Maxmo ("there's a rod with your name on it"). Stubb on the other hand promised to invite KAJ to the newly renovated sauna at the presidential summer residence if they won.
The Vörå schoolkids had the best school day ever, and KAJ couldn't have had a more responsive crowd for Taco Hej (one minute snippet in the linked video) and Kom Ti Byin, you could hear them singing and screaming the lyrics. A five song gig after showcasing school bands, cheerleaders, interviewing the president and the band: Karar i Arbeit, Dågår åt böndrin, Kom ti byin, Taco hej and Bara bada bastu.

Adding links to Yle articles about the event:
in Finnish in Swedish
To summarise the event in English (based on Yle, IS and HBL):
President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, is visiting Ostrobothnia today with first lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb, to receive an honourary doctorate from the University of Wasa, meet local people, and visit local industry. At his own initiative, he also attended a school concert in Vörå, with about 1,000 school children from the local area. It was the first presidential visit to the municipality since Kekkonen took a fishing trip to Maxmo in 1957. (It's also worth noting that Stubb is the first finlandssvensk president since Mannerheim during WWII.)
Stubb also answered some questions on stage and revealed that he got to hear Bara bada bastu before Melodifestivalen. The boys sent him a video clip filmed in a sauna about one day before the show, asking if he could come and watch. He was really excited about the song and thanked the boys for the invitation but regrettably couldn't make it. He said he was rooting for KAJ at Eurovision and that their win would also be a win for Finland and Vörå.
The kids were very excited for both guest appearances. They had made little Finnish flags, KAJ flags, and signs to hold up. As mentioned above, they eagerly sang along to the songs! A teacher said many people had been to KAJ's gigs before; the two girls interviewed by Svenska Yle liked Kom ti byin best today.
#kaj#alexander stubb#stubb rooting for kaj makes me feel kind of bad for erika vikman who is actually representing finland#but then again he is finlandssvensk and said in another interview that he was glad to see finlandssvensk music break through in sweden#so he really just seems genuinely excited for them!#not yr

I watched this documentary and omg I love it. It's so cute that they had been friends for so long, and it's interesting to see how they make their music and what are their inspos
#one thing I didn't like was the part where they said that people were searching for their partners like that was the top search#it also showed on their faces that they were a bit uncomfy about that#<prev tags#yeah it's disturbing#i also hate how people bring their parasocial relationships onto kaj's social media#like i saw someone comment on their IG that she was “so sad” jakob was engaged and “wished he had met her first”#and when people said she was inappropriate she just doubled down because “in my country we say how we feel!!”#(this was a grown-ass woman btw. in her thirties or forties i think.)#god i hate seeing entitled comments like that.#i will say that axel's wife has appeared in at least two magazine features. one with him and without. reading those is fine!#but that doesn't give people the right to creep on her either!#anyway thanks for reminding me of this documentary op!#kaj#parasocial relationships#not yr

For fic reasons, I'm wondering how familiar people are with the royal families of countries other than their own (and other than the UK). I have randomly selected Belgium as the subject of this poll so please DO NOT VOTE IF YOU'RE BELGIAN.
#i recognise and can name the core members of the swedish and norwegian royal families and some of the danish#(and the uk ones obviously)#i also know a few other european royals by name but don't know their faces#and some i don't know at all#(no clue about the king of belgium or his potential children...)#i would imagine that it varies heavily depending on where you are from#like speaking as a finn... we are semi-regularly exposed to the royal families of the other nordic countries (especially sweden)#but we seldom hear from the royal families in continental europe#it's really only their weddings funerals coronations and the occasional scandal that reaches us haha#(and royals from further away are completely unknown to me at least)#poll#polls

See this reblog for a demonstration of a "vetted" account that was easily revealed as a scam!
Also wanted to add links on how the scams may relate to human trafficking:
Cyber Scamming as a New Destination for Human Trafficking Victims
follow-up: Cyber Scamming Goes Global: Sourcing Forced Labour for Fraud Factories
So not only do they scam you out of money that you could have donated to reputable organisations, they could also be involved in human trafficking. And it goes without saying that the trafficking victims forced to work on these scams won't see a cent of your money, it all goes to the criminal organisation. Potentially, the triads and other organised crime groups with roots in China and fraud factories around Southeast Asia.
Find a legitimate Gaza charity to donate to, instead.

sorry to have to tell you this but if a stranger comes to your inbox or slides in your DMs asking you for your money with some sob story, no matter how tragic and convincing the story is, they are a scammer — especially if the story is obviously copied and pasted, formatted in the exact same way as the other 100 bots in your inbox

Oh look, it's my favourite bit from Jakob's Lidret interview! 😂 the part where he had an age crisis at 25 upon realising that watching a game show at home every Friday night should not be the highlight of his week...and his solution was to stay at home with his fiancee but not watch the show.
Wholeheartedly recommend watching the interview on Yle Areena if you don't mind the lack of subs! It's lovely and gives you a really good glimpse of Jakob's personality. 💚
